Does anyone know this book?

It's about a boy and a girl who almost die when the school bus crashes into the lake. The girl gets a lot of scars and the boy breaks a vertebra and can't play baseball anymore. The two of them establish a weird, almost codependent relationship after that. Everyone is okay with it, except for a new girl who transfers into the school.

The books is told in the perspective of the new girl, it happens in Florida and has a tragic ending. The edition my friend read had a black and white cover (half black, half white).

Does anyone know? There are 20 people looking for this book since last night and we haven't found the name anywhere ._.
