I love the idea of Steddie knowing each other when they were younger.

Like Eddie literally mother possum’s this random kid who was out in the rain watching the worms cross the sidewalk because he didn’t want them to be stepped on. And obviously Eddie leaves and doesn’t come back for a while, but while he’s with Al and growing up he remembers that sweet little gapped tooth boy and wonders how he grew up. Like he’s probably a nerd right?

So imagine his utter shock when he comes back to Hawkins to see that the sweet boy, the boy who literally cried when Eddie went to kill a spider, is apart of the terrible three(Tommy and Carol) and the complete opposite of how he was going to turn out. Like at all. Who could’ve prepared him for The King Steve persona? (Let alone those muscles.)

Meanwhile Steve is just like. ‘Oh, that’s the kid I used to hang out with when I was younger. Yeah, he’s basically the same, just super tall…and kinda hot?’

Hate to tell you this, but that's from an alternate timeline ending where Venom quits being an Assassin early on and dissolves the Assassins Organization on his own (without consulting Slayer, Millia, or Zato).

He decided to become a Hustler and met a boy named Eddie along the way who was the sole survivor of a village that got attacked by Gears.

This Alternate Ending is 100% Non-canon because it assumes that Venom quit being an Assassin before encountering Bedman (during Xrd's events).

Eddie's village was destroyed by Gears and he was the only survivor, and there is no indication that he was raised in a family of Nobility like Bridget and his twin brother were. Eddie made no indication of having any siblings, either.

Bridget has never once expressed concerns about his village being in danger from Gears (this being post-crusades, very few Gears would still be active unless they were operating independently or under someone else's control other than Justice). Fewer Sentient Gears still would have the audacity to attack humans after losing that war as well (most Gears went in to hiding, like Dr. Paradigm).

Anyway, Eddie is no relation to Bridget, particularly since Eddie's fate was the result of an Alternate Ending (or Alternate Timeline, from Axl Low's perspective). So this event never occurred.
