Cedric Family Headcanons

Zane and Zantor are brothers, Cedric is their father.

Their mother is Zantha, a magic crafter with a more witch-like aesthetic about her; she even has a broom and everything.

Her magic allows her to levitate things and gives her power over objects- for example, she can levitate a tea pot across the room and then enchant it to pour itself.

Both boys take very heavily after their mother. They have her body type, scale color, multiple curved horns, and powers.

Zantor took more after her personality wise, however: much more extroverted than his brother.

Cedric has a condition where his wing membranes are a bit brittle and easily damaged; Zane inherited this from him, but fortunately he doesn't use his wings much so it doesn't really bother him.

Cedric is one of the magic crafters that study rather than practice magic- making poultices, potions, spell books, etc and reaserching magic and magical items. He can cast some spells, but mostly he focuses more on the academic side of his craft.

Zantha is goofy, fun, more likely to start silly antics than put a stop to them; she encourages her sons to reach their full potential by really "cutting loose" with their abilities- getting creative and having fun. Cedric is the sterner between them, ensuring none of them go too far with it.

Whenever little Zantor was annoyed with his father, he would make his spectacles levitate outside of his reach.

Cedric, due to his wing condition, can't fly very well, so his family's levitation powers are both a blessing and a curse, depending on how they go about using them that day.

Things in their home are constantly floating about; nothing is ever truly still or settled.

Zane shares his father's love for reading- is also, despite his power, more academically inclined.

Zantha liked Cedric because he is more stern and disciplined than she is- as she puts it: "I'm the big, bright yellow balloon, and he's the string that ensures I don't go floating off out of control."

They're constantly exchanging light-hearted banter- usually her trying to get him to laugh or crack a smile, especially when she feels he's being too serious. It works everytime.
