The first time Zenitsu sees Nezuko, btw:
Ah yes. THAT is clearly the body of a toddler. /s

Writing Zenitsu atm and I need confirmation of who I think is the number 1 Zenitsu fan/defender, is this an accurate portrayal?
Yes, I think so.
It captures exactly why Zenitsu likes her so much--her kindness, and was the first girl to treat him kindly.
I do like the addition that 'he acts like a dumbass around her', because he does--and Zenitsu is self-critical enough I think he'd look back and THINK he was being a dumbass.
The acknowledgement that Nezuko was unphased by him acting like a dumbass is a nice touch, because she canonically doesn't mind him doing that.
He's also still acting pretty lovestruck here, which is normal when Zenitsu talks about Nezuko.
ZenNezu in a nutshell
2# Old ships (Zennezu)
InoAoi may be my favourite ship in kny, however it was Zenitzu x Nezuko the one that got me reading the whole manga just to find crumbs of them, huh
I had a whole different vision about Kimetsu no Yaiba before actually checking the manga.
That scene in which Zenitsu followed Nezuko around in the Wisteria house (Season 1, episode 14-15, I think) intrigued me a lot, because having no clue of what kny was about and watching snippets of clips, I though the story was about Tanjiro becoming like the best swordman in the world and he had to study in what I though was a dojo (the wisteria house) in which Zenitsu was like the grandson of the owner/sensei.
I just founnd the trope of "darn, my friend is kind of into my relative, I guess" so hilarious back then.
Actually the first fanfic I wrote at 15-16 years old was about an unfinished story about Zenitsu x Nezuko, set during World War II, in which Zenitsu parted to join the airforce while Nezuko awaited for her husband to come back home safely. Meanwhile, Kaigaku, as Zenitzu's older brother, would take advantage of his absence to court Nezuko, due to receiving an official letter announcing Zenitzu's disappearance in combat.
Drew fanart about it as well, wow.
Now it all became kind of lost media, lol.
I have a headcanon that when combined with your autistic zenitsu headcanon creates a third, cooler, headcanon!
So, I like to think that, as a demon, Nezuko has an uncanny valley undertone to how she looks. She is still very beautiful, just a tad unnerving
Now, a lot of autistic ppl aren't impacted by the uncanny valley and even find it comforting (like me, but I did check and others have the same experience)
This is part of why zenitsu thinks she is so pretty is bc the uncanny nature of her face is easier to look at than a more human face
Oh, I love this so much!
Headcanon adopted.
Also, Nezuko really appreciates the fact the he thinks she's so beautiful and likes that he doesn't really treat her any differently, and to him, she's just a pretty teenage girl rather than a demon. (I imagine it gives her a sense of normalcy.)
Also, as an autistic person, I've never really been impacted by the uncanny valley either...I've seen/heard people talk about it, but have never been able to quite see what they were apparently seeing lmao.
Ngl the funniest "criticism" of Zenitsu/Nezuko I've ever seen is that "he fawns over her like she's a goddess" (and apparently this is supposed to be a bad thing).
Like...isn't treating your partner like they hung the moon and stars a GOOD THING lmao???
People try to reach SO HARD to make Zen/Nezu out to be unhealthy (it isn't).
And of course the same people were making out Tan/Kana to be the only "good/well written ship" among the main trio even though it had no development and no chemistry.
Also Nezuko not only LIKES the attention Zenitsu gives her and finds the stuff he does for her sweet (and her taste in men in canon is "simp"), she LIKES being adored canonically.
I love how people portray Tanjiro as always getting angry at Zenitsu for simping over Nezuko in fanarts when in one of the Taisho era secrets in Entertainment District Arc, Tanjiro literally teases Zenitsu that he would have to tell Nezuko if he keeps praising other women, implying Tanjiro was way more accepting of Zenitsu for Nezuko than some fans would like to believe... It is as if Zenitsu is not literally the single character in his verse who protected Nezuko at the onset without thinking twice despite knowing about Tanjiro carrying a demon (and too without knowing it was her) just because it was someone dear to Tanjiro... Unlike some fans, Tanjiro would be more willing to trust Zenitsu with Nezuko given the kind of conviction Zenitsu showed in protecting her, it was absolute faith in a friend that made Zenitsu protect Nezuko, so why should Tanjiro be anything but happy that his sister gets to be with such a man??? Yet people portray as if Tanjiro would be disgusted with Zenitsu getting together with Nezuko... smh...
