“The next contender who shall be opposing against the formidable strength of Shiva/Poseidon/Hades/Thor/Zerofuku, is none other than, [Name], the small force that sent the world into a quake with her brilliance!”
The clamour that roared through the area is steadily halted as the opponent steps into the light, being replaced by confused shouts and sneers as the small child looks around her. “Remain calm, young one.” Her chosen Valkyrie, Timora, reassures, rubbing her shoulder. [Name]’s eyes fall upon her rival, who seems to have halted slightly in his might.
Shiva
“A child?” Shiva whispers, confused as he looks to Heimdall, who sets himself upright with a shrug. “Beware underrating them.” Heimdall states with a slight chuckle, twirling his Gjallarhorn. Shiva briefly looks to his wives, who halt their cheers with slightly worried glances to one another and him.
“Shiva…god of destruction and greatest brawler of the Indian Pantheon.” [Name] looks up at him, slightly narrowing her eyes as she observes him. “That’s me. What’s a child like you doing here?” Shiva asks, looking down at her with a frown.
“I’m representing humanity, obviously.”
“Ha, that’s ridiculous!”
“Well, let’s see who’s ridiculous after this.” [Name] throws her weapon towards him, who easily dodges.
Sobs are evident within Nifelhel as the noises pour out of the child’s mouth. Across them, Shiva’s body weakens with strain forced out of it with every minute that passes. His severed arm aches and blood seeps out of the multiple wounds acquired from the fight. [Name] clutches onto her arm, where burnt clothing and flesh mix in an aching blend.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry.” [Name] looks to Timora, her Valkyrie, who wraps her arms around her with a pained smile. “I don’t know why I can’t even look at him. He must be hurting and there’s nothing I can do about it. I had to.” She speaks from
“Congratulations. You are a formidable fighter.” Shiva praises, laughing slightly at the irony before stopping to rub his aching rib. He falls to the ground to get his parting bearings together, and [Name] runs to him, despite her shame. “There must be something I can do, Timora! How can I allow him to remain like this?!” Her hands are stained with blood as she looks for critical points to tend to.
[Name]’s arm is grasped by Shiva, who slowly shakes his head pitifully. “I’m afraid you’ve won, [Name].”
“I’m sorry.” [Name] sighs, wiping her eyes as the man begins to disintegrate.
Hades
There’s much that the fearsome man has seen in his life, from a countless amount of warriors who fought for their beliefs to revelations that last centuries.
However, he did not expect to have a child in front of him, eyes fileld with determination and chest puffed when Heimdall introduces them them.
“A…child?” His eyes narrow, turning to Heimdall with a glare. “It’s fair, Sir. Trust me on this.” Heimdall sputters, spooked as he furthers away from him.
“I won’t tolerate being underrated.” [Name] straightens her weapon, aiming sharply at him. Hades is quick to catch onto her experience, her arms and feet angled in the manner of an experienced warrior.
“This is ridiculous. I am not battling a child.” The man thinly dodges the force [Name] throws at him, intensifying on their role as an opponent with every push.
“I certainly am not treating you with the respect of one!” [Name] backtracks as Hades gains his ground, swiping his bindet across the air to push the child back. “This is not a playground. You will get hurt.”
“Worry for yourself, God of the Underworld.”
Hades groans, pain filling his senses as his body actively fights the urge to tumble over. In his failure, his head meets with a soft body instead of the hard ground, and hs eyes loom upwards to look at the impeding figure. A tear falls onto his face, and he’s met with the expression of a guilty contender.
“I didn’t think I’d feel like this.” The young child starts out, her voiced pitched and a sob is shaken out of her. Her Valkyrie remains silent, rubbing her back with a sorrowful glance at her. It is shared to Hades, who looks away.
“Your technique… is impressive. It seems to have taken inspiration from the previous fighters.” [Name] chuckles painfully at that, smiling slightly. “Was it too obvious?”
“With your adaptation of them, the fighters themselves may have caught on to them.” Hades responds, smiling slightly at the young being. His eyes skim over the injuries he impacted onto the young child, and a tinge of guilt strikes him. “Those injuries will heal.” He states, looking at a particular burn mark infused into the child’s attire. “You were a formidable fighter.” Hades states as he begins to fade away, directing a smile at the child with his hand outstretched. [Name] accepts the handshake, skin tingling when the sparks reach the organ. “Thank you.”
Poseidon
“Hmph.” The man starts, looking down on the child who maintains a blank look at him. “This is a child. Humanity has no other worthy contender? Typical.”
“I’m a match for you, Poseidon.” [Name] remarks, glaring at the man while preparing her weapon. Poseidon seethes in response, bringing his trident into the light. “I will not allow such remarks from a puny human.” For a moment, Poseidon glances at his brother, who nods.
“You’re too sure of yourself.” [Name] remarks, scouting around him for assessment.
He blasts the trident’s power toward [Name], and she thinly dodges it with a gasp. “Amazing!” She aims her weapon at Poseidon’s side, slightly grazing him. He looks down at the evident tear on his cloth and huffs. “Juvenile.”
Ache fills Posideon as he lies on the ground utterly defeated. His dismembered hands pour out blood rapidly and cover the floor.
A distance away from him, [Name] breathes heavily, simmering the rush of the battlefield. She looks at him and her eyes water. Poseidon, hears the child’s sobs and scoffs with a glare directed towards them. “What ails you, child? Isn’t this what you wanted?” [Name] looks at him pitifully, rubbing snot with her hand, to their collective disgust.
“I just don’t want anyone to die.” She admits, still maintaining her distance despite the urge to move closer and provide a solace of sorts.
“You shall be cursed for this.” Poseidon responds bitterly, but beacons [Name] closer. She hesitates for a moment, but she moves a little closer to the man, not being within his possible reach. The blood she steps on encourages nausea, but she holds it in.
“I don’t believe that humanity will win, less at the hands of you. But, at the very least, present yourself well in your other battles. No one tolerates a slobbering fiend.” Poseidon seethes as he begins to fade away. The last sight of him [Name] sees is the contempt on his face.
Thor
“Hmm…” The god looks across the arena, eyes lowered upon the child who looks up at him, hands gripping air idly.
“A child?” Thor turns to Heimdall, who furthers the distance between them. “Do not fret, god. They are a worthy competitor.”
“The Norse god himself… I’ve heard of myths.” [Name] says, shifting to a stance as did he. “You’re quite proactive.” She states, scanning his movements and Mjölnir when it begins to flash sparks. She clutches onto her weapon, as a response.
“I don’t base myself on presumptions.”
“Good.”
“Ugh…” [Name] groans, and looks across her from the wet ground. In the distance lies Thor, beaten down with blood splaying around him. Mjölnir’s to his side, fading sparks evident.
“You put in good effort.” He starts, straining his eyes to look at the young warrior who forcefully turns their head to him. “I’m down.”
“No…” Thor hears a loud sob with slight sniffles. “I’m severely injured and you’re about to die. It shouldn’t be like this.”
The wails increase, and Thor feels a tinge of pity. “No need to cry about it. We all knew what we fought for.” He responds as he begins fading away, to [Name]’s dismay. “Perhaps you should have been a warrior in Asgard.” [Name] bitterly laughs at that. “I’m not one to wish damnation on Humanity.” Thor huffs and chuckles in response.
Timora gently lifts her into her arms, careful not to injure her. She uses her abilities to provide slight relief, and calms when the wounds start to close. “I wish I didn’t have to end like this. I won, but I’m not thrilled.”
“Take some pride in it. You are a formidable fighter.” [Name] sobs into her Valkyrie's chest when he fades into nothingness.
Zerofuku
“Hmm…”
Zerofuku observes the child across him, determination on her eyes, and her weapon to her side. It fills him with a feeling long lost when their eyes meet, and a tinge of horror flows through him.
“There has to be a better competitor. I will not battle a child.” He states, stomping his feet slightly and thrusts his hammer into the ground. Gasps and small jeers are heard around him, but he remains still in his decision. “It’s quite pathetic.” Zero glares at [Name], who glares back with her weapon pointed at him. “Do not underestimate me.” The weapon is thrown, and tears through Zero’s cloth, narrowly missing his skin.
“How dare you—!” Zero starts, but is quickly shut down by a push of his legs to the ground. He jumps up quickly, and uses his hammer to quickly block off another shove. “Damn it! You’ll pay for that!
“You should appreciate yourself more.” [Name] says from the distance, exhausted as her low eyes scan his dishevelled and scarred form. The slight sniffles she hears are enough to stir some within her.
“I’m so… sorry.” Zerofuku apologises, snivelling with his back turned to her as he knelt. His whimpers are evident, and sync with hers as she sobs. He feels a warmth behind him and looks down after the tiny hands on his stomach that clutch onto him. “It’s okay. I certainly didn’t provide you with room to make any other choice.”
“You’re misguided, but not a terrible individual. I… noticed that you didn’t aim to kill when you had a chance to with the Storm Form of your axe.” [Name] says, and Zerofuku stills. “You are really intelligent.”
“I know.” The young child softly smiles through tears at her Valkyrie, who lightly pokes her cheek and pats her with a handkerchief. Zerofuku turns to look at her, and tightly hugs her.
“You did so well, [Name].” Zerofuku smiles at her, parting to brush off her tears as he begins to fade away. “Stay here. You’re better now.” [Name] pleads, tightly clutching onto his hand, but the fading spreads to it.
“I hope you find happiness.” [Name] clutches onto Timora, who lifts her into her arms as they watch him fade.
