Adam Strange - Created by editor Julius Schwartz and designed by Murphy Anderson, he first appeared in Showcase #17 (November 1958)
In December 1958, issue 17 of Showcase by D.C. Comics introduced Adam Strange. Strange is an archeologist. While fleeing from a tribe of Incans, Strange is suddenly struck by a Zeta-Beam and transported twenty-five trillion miles across space to the planet Rann. There Strange befriends scientist Sardath and Sardath's daughter Alanna. Strange not only learns their language, but quickly adapts to new technology like rocket packs and laser guns. Whenever the effects of the Zeta-Beam wears off, Strange returns to Earth. However, Strange figures out a way to track where the beam will hit on Earth next and manages to travel back.
