Okay, so I’ve gotten a few of these in my inbox (not too many, thankfully, although they do get deleted) and I decided to respond to this one because it was the nicest. I debated posting this for a while, and it hasn’t been throughly edited, but it was something I needed to get out here.

I’d never even heard of IF before starting the plotting for ZD. And I know that a lot of character-driven IFs are being compared to Wayhaven because it was kind of the, I guess, kickstarter to this way of writing, and honestly, it’s getting tiring. I know the same thing happened with The Shadow Society (@carawenfiction), and The Porthecrawl Witness (@porthecrawl-witness), and I understand where people are coming from, I do, but others need to understand that everything in literature exists somewhere else, and if you see similarities, it’s because they are there. That doesn’t mean that the works are the same or that one plagiarized the other.

Wayhaven includes a lot of tropes that are increasingly popular in IF and visual novels, specifically in terms of the supernatural, the RO types, everything happening to one detective in one town. That doesn't mean that if someone else includes the "sexy, aloof leader" type they're copying Adam, it means that they wanted a sexy aloof leader in their own work. Wayhaven's obviously an amazing piece of interactive literature, and the author did an phenominal job on it, but that doesn't mean that other works of literature are any less.

At first I was going to defend my own story, but instead I've just decided to say: please stop comparing tonnes of interactive fiction to one of them. Any more asks about this topic will get deleted.

I know @trinitytrilogy​ is on hiatus, but I hope it doesn't bother I've my own attempt at drawing the ROs (or at least with the genders I had picked 🥴). They're not perfect in my opinion, but think I like them. Big shout-out to my friends who helped A LOT with the designs.

I've been obsessed with @trinitytrilogy 's demo of Zeus' Dilemma for the past few days and I couldn't help drawing one of my ocs for it! This is Nesta though everyone calls her Nessie, daughter of Aphrodite.

Here are some random abstract fun facts about her because I would go on for hours if I were to introduce her in any different way:

-She hasn't been cold since 2003

-She can unhinge her jaw at will

-"You nicknamed my daughter after the loch-ness monster?!"

Can you guess her RO? I'll give you a hint: they have teasing competitions where they both lose (answer in the tags)

So I’ve been really into Zeus Dilemma by @trinitytrilogy​ lately and I finally had the time to draw my demigod MC.

Meet Rosemary (”please, PLEASE call me Rosie”) Gardiner, daughter of Demeter:

Appearance (because I can’t be bothered with colours): dark brown hair, olive skin, multicoloured green and brown eyes, she’s short-adjacent at 5’3”. Lots and lots of freckles across her nose and cheeks. You’ll usually find her dressed in a simple crop top and mom jeans (she’s basic like that). 

Personality: if marshmallow was a person. Just kidding (but not really). Fairly extraverted and friendly with everyone she meets, but doesn’t have a lot of close friends. Prefers to deal with conflict peacefully, but she is not a pushover and WILL call people out if they’re being rude. Is a hard worker and although not a naturally gifted strategist or fighter, she makes up for it through sheer will to Do Her Best™.  

I’ll give you one (1) guess as to whom little miss marshmallow has a big ole crush on. (Hint: he’s pretty much her polar opposite and she finds him kind of infuriating, yet she can’t help but turn into a tomato every time she speaks to him. She’s very mad about it. I find it hilarious.)

Anywho my demigod that I like to play. His name is Asher and is very level headed for a child of Dionysus. He’s definitely the one that watches over the younger siblings, and if it was a thing other demigod kids. Don’t let the responsible side fool you though he can definitely be a troll and his temper isn’t something you want to be on the wrong side of.

He’s also kinda suppose to be pretty in soft kind of way. Also his hair is long.

— i’m really happy i found this game because i love greek mythology! it’s also giving me percy jackson vibes which is cool since i’m a fan of the books. i also just wanted to say that i immediately fell in love with cyrus (bc i’m a sucker for that best friends to lovers trope) ♡

The ones too arrogant to ever believe any misfortune might befall them, the ones too passionate to leave their loved ones behind. The ones that go on quests. All different types of demigods with the power and will to leave. Most often the children of Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, even other children of your own parent go out and explore the world. But never you. Ajax/Alya/Al - The Child of Zeus

M/F/NB. Dark skin, dark eyes, and dark dreads that reach to about their shoulders, A always stands proud and tall, seemingly bigger than they really are. In truth, Ajax clocks in at about 5’11, Alya at 5’6, and Al at 5’8, although they all overstate their height by an inch (Ajax more often than the others). They’re very muscular and bulky, due to hours spent training their physical prowess.

Cyrus/Cyra/Cy - The Child of Apollo

M/F/NB. The first thing one normally notices about them is their height. Cyrus stands at 6′5″ and Cy at 6′2″, both of their once-blond hair now grown out to display their roots, reaching around their shoulders. Cyra stands at 6′ exactly, her once-blonde hair cascading down to her mid-back. C has dark eyes, and pale skin, occasionally giving off the impression of a human toothpick because of their skinny frame. They have large doe-eyes, and often bite their nails, leading to chewed-up nailbeds.

Kai - The Child of Poseidon

M/F/NB. With heterochromatic eyes (one a pale blue as turbulent as the ocean and the other a dark green and intricate as the ocean’s depths), dark auburn hair, medium brown skin, a jawline to cut glass, and a largish nose, K’s an amalgamation of traits that seem to work together perfectly. NB!K stands at around 5’6", F!K stands at around 5’2", and M!K stands at around 5’8", making them the shortest of the ROs, although they’re perfectly happy with not dying as early as the taller people, thank you very much.

Mortimer/Morgan - The Child of Hades

M/F/NB. Dark blonde hair that flops in front of their face because they’re too lazy to cut it, skin tanned from hours spent practicing their powers under the hot sun, and bright blue eyes that sparkle when they smile. They’re basically a golden retriever, if a golden retriever were to begin wearing black nail-polish to look more “edgy” (they don’t pull off the edgy look well). Although a day younger and with more lean muscle than bulk, they’re ¾ of an inch taller than A (no matter the gender), something that they take great pride in.
