Amethio is seriously the best pokemon character ever created. besides maybe Alain it's so refreshing having a conflicted morally ambiguous character in this series. he's so well written & so far has been perfect. I love how he resembles a knight or a prince with how formal he is, it's such a nice detail that shows he was never meant to be a villain. 

he deeply cares about his Ceruledge & Corviknight more than anything & has so much respect for them. his relationship in particular with Ceruledge is wonderful.

it's also very apparent he cares about & appreciates his companions Zirc & Onia, they obviously mean a lot to him. they were still loyal to him after he was removed from missions, & they were so adamant about staying by his side when he wanted to go off on his own after Laqua. it's so obvious how much they admire & adore him, & he really treats them like family. I also love their dynamic of him being so serious & them just being so goofy all the time. 

his relationship with Liko is so compelling.they're first interactions were absolutely intriguing. my favorite episode is the one with them trapped in the cave together. Liko was so kind to him, & Amethio was so sympathetic to her situation when it came to terrastilization, because he knows what it's like to feel like you're not good or strong enough. I love how they sat down & just talked to each other to find understanding, & it made me so happy when Liko reached out to him & expressed that he's clearly not like the explorers, & he could team up with the RVTs. they were brought together by 100 years of destiny, on journeys passed down to them by their grandparents. starting off as enemies fighting each other to friends fighting with each other. I really want their relationship to be developed more. I would love to see them fall in love but I don't think especially when they're more apart than they are together. I don't think the writers will go through with it.

I also really need to learn more about his mother. she was so beautiful & so obviously loved him more than anything. it's so awful that she passed when he was so young & didn't get to have more time with her. I hope he gets to meet her in the crystal pool.

I'm honestly kinda disappointed with what was done with him in the mega voltage arc. he was present in only three episodes & didn't really do much. you can't make an amazing character like this only to just sideline him. if he has barely any screentime then he has no time to fully develop. I want to see him find more of Zygarde's cells, I want to see him join the rising volt tacklers, reunite with Zirc & Onia, deepen his relationship with Liko, take down Spinel & Exceed. give him more time & stuff to do please.

Oh, Spinel wants to be Amethio so bad. First he usurps the Explorers and Exceed, which rightfully belong to Amethio and his family, now he's tryna copy him by having two personal retainers doing his bidding like Amethio has Zirc and Onia, only with none of the actual substance.

You will never be Amethio, Spinel. Give up. Not only did Gibeon not actually choose you in the end, you don't have any of the merit (ie Amethio's talent and character) that makes Amethio genuinely worthy of the things he has.

Pokemon Horizons Episode 124 Review - To Rescue Means To Raid

Horizons did their thing where they do something important off-screen. Since when did the Rising Volt Tacklers contact Amethio and since when did they decide to plan on rescuing the Six Heroes? Other than that, this was a cool episode.

It’s nice to see Amethio and his crew joining forces with the Rising Volt Tacklers this time around! After discussing things like their discovery on how to eliminate Laquium once and for all and how to rescue the Six Heroes, they all decide to raid the HQ where they are being held. I don’t know about you, but I’m finally glad Exceed and the Explorers are looking to be competent for once. They got a lot of security this time around to the point that their first order of business is to get rid of them before diving in. They all split up doing this with Roy and Ult taking on the guards from the rooftop which caused Lucario, Captain Pikachu and Sableye to get knocked out off-screen. Amethio’s group was responsible for taking down the guards at the front which later becomes Zirc and Sonia’s job as Amethio comes in to help Liko as they both protect Dot who is cracking the basement door by taking on Indy and Rubina who use two Salamences this time around.

I’m actually surprised they’re using the same Pokemon this time around as they usually like to use variants. Still, it was nice to see Amethio and Liko fight together as allies. The fact that Charcadet decides to battle wearing the Auspicious Armor lead to some creative strategies like absorbing recoil damage with the armor and also hiding from attacks by retracting his limbs like a turtle. The highlight of the battle was definitely seeing Ceruledge and Charcadet battling side by side as they were on opposite ends before. I was honestly happy that Armarouge finally makes its Horizons debut. I’m sure everyone who wanted Liko to get an Armarouge is excited. I certainly am too! I have noticed that some people who had complained about Liko getting the Auspicious Armor from Diana in the previous episode were excited about the evolution, which is amusing given how much they complained two weeks ago.

With the twist that the group are going to have individual 1-on-1 matches with the Six Heroes being controlled by a member of the Explorer is definitely going to be interesting. I wonder what Spinel is concocting in that head of his… With the rescue mission in full throttle, I do wonder where the story is going to be headed now. Let me know your thoughts on this episode!
