“Tui and La, your moon and ocean, have always circled each other in an eternal dance. They balance each other, push and pull, life and death, good and evil, yin and yang.”
I did this for last year's Zutara Week but I was only able to finish the lineart and make it a patreon reward, sooo...
A year later, with everything that's going on in the fandom, I was encouraged to add some extra scenes and color it.
Also, you can notice the progress of my madness because I clearly don't know how to do backgrounds and in the end I totally gave up.
Someday I'll fix them, maybe...
Anyway!
💜 I hope you like it as much as I do.

@zutaraweek day two, eclipse
it's been five years since my first zutara week and i decided i wanted to play a little homage to my 2020 pieces.
my first year i did two drawings, both inspired by a little au i made (and the first was inspired by eclipses). i didn't want to do an exact redraw of either piece, but instead try to capture elements from both, now that it's been five years.
the premise of the au was 'the war ended nearly two decades earlier, chief kya has brought her daughter with her to the annual peace accords that are being held in the fire nation this year'. it'd been sort of a zk week tradition for me to come back to this au, though i don't think i managed to last year.
if you want to see more, here's the au tag on my art blog!

I'M SO EXCITED FOR ZUTARA WEEK THIS YEAR WITH ALL THE INSPIRATION FROM THE LIVE ACTION COMING IN A FEW DAYS AND THE LEGEND OF AANG MOVIE LFG
Zutara Week Day 5: Journey
“Where did you find him?” Katara asked Zuko over the flapping of wings. Druk now carried them towards the Northern Water Tribe. Zuko sat between the dragon’s shoulders, reins in his hands, while Katara stretched out her legs. She was sitting in the saddle on the dragon’s back. It had a canopy above her, which was practical against wind and rain. Maybe Aang should consider crafting something similar for Appa’s saddle.
“I visited the Sun Warriors again shortly after my coronation,” Zuko replied, deep in thought. “He was among the half-dozen newborns of Ren and Shaw’s.”
“One of the last two dragons gave birth shortly after the war ended?”
“It’s a miracle, isn’t it?”
“It is…” Katara couldn’t help but see a connection to the rise of the Southern waterbenders post-war. But, could both miracles be related? This must be a huge coincidence.
“Anyway, he jumped out of the nest when I was about to leave, trying to follow me.”
Katara caught the smile in Zuko’s voice. He kept his gaze straight towards the open night sky.
“The Sun Warriors explained that some dragons share a bond with humans, which builds up pretty fast—or, in our case, immediately. And now I share one with this boy here, who was as small as my arm back then.”
“Well, he grew up fast.”
Zuko sniffed, clapping Druk on his neck. “He sure did.”
Druk grumbled as if in agreement.
“And when the Sun Warriors came to visit Capital City last year, they gifted me this saddle.”
“It’s so light.” Katara ran her hands against the panels as if she could find out what it was crafted of by touch alone.
“I know. It looks like leather, though it’s made of palm leaves, according to the Chief.”
Katara leaned back and bumped against the luggage behind her. The saddle and reins, a sleeping bag, Zuko’s old dao swords along with three huge pouches—a blue, a red, and a green one—were hidden in a small cave on the island where Druk lived. After they’d saddled the dragon, Zuko had grabbed his swords, the sleeping bag, and the blue pouch.
“Fire Nation- as well as Water Tribe fashion and some other things,” had been his short response when Katara asked him what was inside. Then he’d explained they would leave Druk on an island halfway to the Northern Water Tribe, where Zuko had hidden an air balloon to continue the journey.
He had said Katara could ask further questions once they departed, but exhaustion weighed heavily on her. As they began this leg of their journey, she decided she would lay down for a bit first. The flight would be lengthy, after all. She would have time for obtaining answers.
Sharing My Life With You
Chapter 1: Coronation Day
Hey everyone, sorry I'm late with posting my ZK week stuff this year. Work entered its craziest stage, and I've been so dead tired that it's taken everything in me just to eek out a few sentences a day, but I will have the rest out before the end of the month. Also, I'd like to thank Homeagainrose and EK Wolf for betaing this chapter for me. You Ladies are the best!! Anyway, here is the first chapter of my piece for ZK Week. Now sit back, relax, and let's get this fic STARTTTTED!!!

For Zutara Week 2023 (Prompts: "Union" and "Flow")
I had originally sketched/planned this for my 4 Ship Challenge, but ultimately swapped these two for, funnily enough, another Water/Fire ship, Wade and Ember xD But I decided to save it for a special occassion, and what occassion more special than the 15th Zutara Week! (Not to mention the trailer for the live-action remake made me had these two in mind again, so, great timing all around x3)
This is my second ever contribution to a Zutara Week, but hopefully it won't be the last, because I really love these two.
I'm really proud of how this turned out, especially the water ^_^
