I've been wanting to draw Rumi with her hair down since I first watched the movie, since I was a little bit disappointed this didn't actually happen in it, though I get why, hair is hard to animate. ๐ Fingers crossed we get to see it in the sequel, though! It would be the perfect visual representation that our girl is at last truly free. ๐
Some closeups in case the image quality gets affected, since I worked hard on the details x'D
This might be my favorite piece I have done so far this year :')

Book 2 of the Sedaverse Saga is here!
Story synopsis:
In the sequel to our fanfiction "A Second Chance", we continue the love story of Roxanne Brooks and James "Bucky" Barnes. Although the pair tried to run away from the pain of their past, they'll soon be reminded that it always catches up to you. It seems as though the closer the two grow, the more everything around them threatens to tear them apart. What sacrifices will it take to finally shed all fear and doubt, and join two lives in a new beginning? What obstacles and catastrophes will a love born in the most unusual of circumstances be able to survive?
First chapter is now UP! Illustrations will be added in the upcoming weeks. You can start reading read here:

And if you're new, remember to read "A Second Chance" first on the same sites so you can get to know Roxanne and how these characters met.
The kind of movie the marketing made me think "Hoppers" was going to be VS. The kind of movie it actually was:
Further thoughts/mini review below the cut, beware of mild/indirect spoilers.
I mean yes, it was definitely way sillier than "The Wild Robot" and had a lot of unhinged and comedic moments as the marketing promised, but I honestly wasn't expecting it to have as much heart and emotion as it did, or that I'd end up loving it so much. ๐ฅฒ๐ค I fully walked in expecting a "turn your brain off with this whacky adventure" kind of movie and ended up TEARING UP in at least 3 separate times. ๐ญ
Could it at least partially be because the whole "socially awkward girl with no siblings but with a special and close relationship with her grandmother whom she takes care of in old age" thing hit VERY close to home to me?
Maybe. Maybe. ๐ฅฒ
I don't even fully relate to Mabel TBH but I did see WAY more of myself in her than I expected, and even regardless of that, she was an AMAZINGLY written character, I think she's one of my fav Pixar protagonists and characters now.
And the characters I thought were going to be super annoying like King George, Tom Lizard, Loaf, Ellen, etc. were actually great. Heck, even the antagonist mayor ended up being more fun to watch than I initially thought xD The "final boss" villain though (I won't spoil who it is, but if you've seen the film you'll know who I'm talking about) was actually TERRIFYING, but in a good way. And yes, my theater DID gasp at THAT scene, his "villain origin moment" if you will. Like, WOW. It was funny and shocking at the same time. ๐
Also, I may not have that much knowledge of the "We Bare Bears" franchise, since the most I've seen are a couple isolated episodes here and there and then random clips online, but even with that, I thought this had Daniel Chong's seal all over it, from the character designs to the tone and humor and settings. And that's coming from a VERY casual viewer. In fact, this film kinda made me want to check out a bit more of WBB, I might have been missing out on something x)
Lastly I just want to say that I LOVE the way the film handled its themes and messages, particularly the one about trust and second chances. I feel like nowadays, most animated shows and movies either go the "Everyone is actually good and nice inside and can be redeemed if you just talk to them!" or "If this person has a different point of view than yours they're PURE EVIL and don't even deserve a chance to be reasoned with!" (even my favorite animated show of all time, TOH, fell into the latter). I thought this film reached a VERY good middle ground about it that's actually a lot more applicable to real life. That's all I'm going to say because I don't want to give any big spoilers, it's much better when you see it in the film yourself xD
Overall, this movie was very refreshing and a super pleasant surprise to me. I love how invested I felt and how well the characters and themes were handled. It was also funny without being treating its audience like idiots most of the time (still looking at you, Minions ๐)
I give it a 9/10. VERY recommended. ๐ Well done, Pixar. ๐
Since I used to do my movie/show "reviews" on this account, I thought this made for a good opportunity to officially tell you guys that that kind of content, as well as random opinion/thoughts/anecdotes/silly non-art related stuff, has moved to my personal sideblog! ^^
I've actually been using that sideblog for like, close to a year now ๐ in order to keep this main page mostly for art. I had only told a few friends about it, but I think I'm comfortable sharing it publicly now. Feel free to check it out, there's plenty in there. Just beware that everything posted there is MY personal opinion, and if you disagree with any of them, that's completely fine and I'll respect that difference of opinion if you respect mine. I'm not looking to start debates or fights with anyone, I just want a chill place to talk about the nerdy stuff I like. ^^
Bluey fanarts are my favourite fanarts by yours! ๐ฅฐ
Oh, thank you so much, that is super sweet! ๐ฅฐ๐ (And thank you for all you've said in your recent reblogs as well!)
Man, I do miss making Bluey fanart. I miss Bluey in general, really. We haven't had much new material aside from a few minisodes here and there, which have become more and more sparce. So inspiration for new Bluey fanarts has yet to hit me, but I am REALLY hoping that will happen again once we start getting closer to the movie's release date and we start seeing new material for it (I'm highkey VERY curious about what the animation and artstyle for the film is gonna look like).
The Bluey resurgence is just a matter of time. ๐
I took an extended break from art for personal reasons but finally felt ready to come back to it, and what better than a new artwork of my girl to practice after a while? ๐โจ
Hope you guys can look forward to the Sedaverse content coming this 2026! The first chapter of "A Lasting Bond" is already finished, and after I post our classical V-Day post, the cover and first illustrations for it are next. ๐
Oh, and we've got a new watermark for this account! A closer look to it as well as the images used as reference for this are below the cut. ๐
You know I'm obsessed when I start making character sheets hehe. Starting with rough sketches of The Creature/Adam โค๏ธโ๐ฉน Hoping to draw Elizabeth next~
Original character art of the mane 6 dressed in fashions inspired by fashion in 1880s and the gameloft mobile game's "High Plains Ponies" event (based on the IDW comics' story arc "The Good, the Bad, and the Ponies"
Salt Block Saloon background traced from season 1 episode 21 of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
Brutus is a tiger who wears a small cape and boxing shorts. Even if he's a big predator with sharp claws and an outfit that suggests heroism and bravery, he's actually an easily scared cat with a low self-esteem.
His design is intentionally the opposite of what his personality actually is.
Currently taking a break from art, so I'm reposting this to wish you all who celebrate a Merry Christmas! I wish all of you the very best this season. ๐๐
