The concept of buddie canon but nothing changes. Like, they’re together, but they’re still them. Their relationship, for all intents and purposes is the same. Only now they kiss and they cuddle and whatnot. Now they say “I love you” out loud.

As someone who loves BOTH Heated Rivalry and Off Campus, I just think it is INCREDIBLY telling of NHL as an organisation that they don't want a beautiful queer love story to use their branding at all but they are okay with having an abusive man wear the rangers logo and have a long career as a NHL legend.

It's so fucking gross.

That Off Campus have amazon money to throw in NHLs direction to let them wear their branding is one thing. Heated Rivalry couldn't do that financially. But come on, be more blatantly macho culture. Eww.

The sliver of happiness I have is that NHL probably lost many money making opportunities as Heated Rivalry exploded in popularity. Sucks to suck.
