The bicep caress???
Sorry if you missed it but I became obsessed with Hasan and the way the entire world responds to and talks about Hasan's body and attractiveness. There's a PhD dissertation brewing in my bosom. This chapter is about how Hasan's body is specifically designed to - and succeeds at - appealing to straight men. Look at Will, excited for his sleepover, getting a few extra squeezies of the beefy bicep before letting go.

we really have to hand it to bruises for being easy to acquire, fun to touch, usually relatively harmless, and capable of turning a variety of pretty colours as they cycle through the stages of their life cycle from birth to death. they do so much for us. and even more if you're a bit of a pervert about it.

I wish it was easier to talk about mobile phone addiction without sounding like a boomer
Phone addiction (specifically social media addiction) is real and it's not a joke and it is everywhere. Phone addiction literally reduces the grey matter of your brain. It's no secret young adults are more anxious and depressed than ever; more lonely than ever; more aimless than ever. Do you remember being a hugely creative kid, and feel like that spark is gone now? Can't sleep at night? Yeah, your GABA receptors are probably fucked from getting hits every 60 seconds from checking your phone. What's your daily screen time like? 6 hours? 12? These are common numbers. It's insane! It's insane and it's deliberate. Companies make more money from you when you're brain is fried from scrolling 10 hours a day through meaningless content.
But it can be reversed. Start small. If you hit this post then take 5 minutes to put your phone down in another room and do something. Do a crossword. Go for a walk. Be present! CBT is a hugely successful therapy for phone addiction and can even reverse the damage done to your brain.
I get it. I have dozens of beloved friends online, and I'm more informed now than I would ever have been without access to the Internet, but wouldn't it be nice to wonder sometimes? Wouldn't it be nice to be able to go outside and not itch for your phone screen? To have that creativity and confidence back? Start small. Start now.
Actually no one should be having sex. All of us are aged-up minors and the passage of time is inherently problematic

Americans:
in case anyone in wondering, this is Paul Hollywood's idea of a s'more
You know what, their absolute inability to grasp Mexican foods makes more sense every day
so it sounds like what our old friend InternetHippo would like to see here in the United States of America is...... a system where if you win an election you get to ban specific people from ever running for office again
If someone tried to DO A COUP yes they should be banned from running for office again. You pathetic troll. You unserious both-sidesing fascism enabler.
Please fuck the entire way off if you don't think Trump should've been permanently barred from every electoral and appointed political office.
Glib, half-baked metaphors are a cop-out here, you canât just deride these sentiments because youâre angry youâre going to have to see them every four years. I want to actually engage with the original post for a moment.
âIâm not an anti voting guy...â
I take from this that theyâre not apposed to voting in elections, and therefore might actually be worth talking to instead of dismissing.
â...but we Defeated Authoritarianism at the ballot box in 2020...â
So in 2020 a broad coalition of people in the center, a smattering of center-right, and the ever more fractured âleftâ came together despite not really agreeing on much because we did agree the fascist had to go. We won, it was hard fought, and Joe Biden went on to become a fairly unpopular president, which makes sense given the disjointed coalition and the fact that, whatever his legislative and political-lifer prowess, he is not a very present, engaging, or galvanizing leader.
â...and its back again so whatâs next?â
What did the Biden presidency, besides winning in 2020, do to dismantle or combat ascendant fascism in America? What is the democratic partyâs plan, in terms of organizing and legislating, to ensure fascists donât take political power? What is Harrisâs plan beyond win in 2024? winning presidential elections without a plan for reform is not enough, we have now seen just how vulnerable our systems are to being hijacked by fascists, how successful fascists can be at galvanizing voters, the real world costs involved in letting them win, and I, like the original poster, want some answers from the party that wants to govern us for another four years as to what in the hell they plan to do about it? Its a reasonable question.
I scrolled through the comments and tags and a bunch of people seem to be of the mindset that if we Just Keep Voting we can defeat fascism forever. We just defeat it every 4 years at the ballot box!
And the point is, no! We just kept voting and fascism is still building power. It's stronger and scarier and more overt than it was 4 years ago. It's creating new crises, it's targeting new people. The President can now Do Crime, including coups!!!! with impunity, the Supreme Court said so. The administrative state is gutted. Legal asylum status is being threatened... including by Democrats! Election protections are being rolled back. The state that went blue for the first time in decades last time passed laws that it's illegal to give water to people waiting in line to vote. And voting in 2020 didn't stop that and voting now isn't going to stop whatever is next, no matter who wins.
The original tweet's point is voting is something, but it isn't ENOUGH and what are you going to do about it? And the smug people in the tags refuse to hear that and just want to keep Voting their way out of it.
