In The Land of Higashiizumo (AO3)

I started a Takiun fanfiction. I blame @briirens​ post for dragging me into this ship.

Kiun has four jobs. One, working for an organization called ‘Equilibrium’. Two, guarding the gate of Yomi. Three, taking care of his cousins. Four, being Takemikazuchi’s anchor.

The last one is the hardest. It is also the one Kiun is the most invested in.

Chapter 1: Weizhi

The morning air was crisp as the two tall men walked out of the campus of the Iki Institute for Troubled Children. A group of older children greeted them cheerfully. They walked off campus premises and instantly the scenery changed. A thick reddish fog filled the air and the ground became like a torn up marshland. In between modernized buildings were wrecked old houses seen only in the countryside. There were yokai of all shapes and sizes everywhere. A scenery visible only to them.

“Human…you smell good-” a small yokai approached the dark haired male. The blond haired male stepped on it, a crackle of lightning razing the creature into pungent smelling ash. The other creatures around them started to squeak in alarm, moving away as fast as possible.

Noragami Chapter 71 - Some More Notes

Since this chapter has been heavily discussed, there’s a couple things I’ve seen people debating or being confused about that seem to need further explanation:

Page 2

People have been pointing out the horrible irony of Yato’s “head held high” line.  However, the original term was “munehatte” (胸張って) which literally means “tightened chest”, but is more like “chest swelled with pride” (and is also the symptom of a heart attack, so you should get that checked out).

Page 8

The term for “covenant” being used is written in kanji as “seiyaku” (誓約) but is forced into the furigana reading of “ukei”.  In the original mythology, the “ukei” was a divination ritual between Amaterasu and Susanoo to confirm Susanoo’s intentions.  Susanoo gave Amaterasu his sword, and she destroyed it and produced three goddesses, while Susanoo took Amaterasu’s necklace and destroyed it, producing five gods.  Because Susanoo produced more than her, it was taken as a sign of his sincerity (he then proceeded to launch a horse through her window and scared her into a cave, so this ritual’s results MAY vary).

In this chapter, the sword (Mitsurugi) and the necklace (Mitama) have already been wagered.  After Amaterasu hid in a cave, she was coaxed out by Uzume putting on a strip-show outside and when Amaterasu came to peek, they held up a mirror (Mikagami) and she was dazzled by her own reflection.

So for all we know, someone might be getting naked next chapter (lookin’ at you, Take.  You wussed out on the gambling, so it’s time to show off the goods)

She did this last chapter with Yukine, but Amaterasu appears to have the power to call other gods’ vessels.  She was the one who reverted Daikoku by saying “Kuro”.  Last chapter she summoned Yukine into the box with “Sekki”.  Also, the reading of Amaterasu’s “What?” at the top of the page is kind of… bitchy?  It’s elongated, like an annoyed “Whaat do you want?” or “Oh, if it isn’t Kuro”.

Page 31

The word Yukine uses to call out for his father is either “otou-san” or “otou-sama” (it gets cut off at the “sa”).  Yato refers to his own Father as “oyaji” and Nora calls him “Toto-sama”.

So the Noragami fandom seems to be really interested in a new gambling game that involves gambling shinki! So can someone tell me the rules and who the judge is AND WHY THE HELL TSUYU HAD TO DISAPPEAR AS PETALS?
