Only love can break your heart
One broke my mind,
One broke my character,
One broke my soul,
One broke my trust
And finally now my heart.
What else is left of mine,
not broken into pieces,
to be brocken?

Whether you think Luca is gay or not, showing boys doing casual touches like this is IMPORTANT
What do you think the underdogs would look a bit older?
Oooo here comes teen underdogs!!
wild beast
the thing that kills me is that cis/straight people could be looking at an obvious metaphor for the Queer Experience right in the face and still miss it because it’s not their experience.
this makes me so happy 🥺
at least the song made their love canon
just focus on the credits’ song It’s TOTALLY Alberto’s Song to Luca.
Pixar can’t fool us, i mean why chose this song at all as the end credit song?
Here’s the English Translation of the song “città vuota” by Mina
“The streets are overcrowded, the crowd is around me,
It is talking to me and laughing
And nothing knows about you…
I see passersby around me
But I know, the city will seem to me empty
If you don’t come back.
There is that one who wants to be next to me every evening
But I don’t care if he gives me his kisses,
I always think about you, only about you
And I know, the city will seem to me empty
If you don’t come back.
How do you want to live alone, without me?
Don’t you feel that our love is not over yet?
Come back to me, my love,
And the city will not be empty any more.
The streets are overcrowded, the crowd is around me,
It is talking to me and laughing
And nothing knows about you…
I see passersby around me
But I know, the city will seem to me empty
If you don’t come back.
How do you want to live alone, without me?
Don’t you feel that our love is not over yet? ”
Still about Luca because I can’t stop thinking about it… yeah maybe it’s not intentional representation, yeah maybe it’s valid only if you go by the death of the author theory, but you know what? I’m gay and I’m Italian and I’m 36 years old and if a movie like Luca had come out when I was in my early teens I would have DIED because damn, at 12 I couldn’t even imagine that being affectionate with a boy, liking a boy, holding a boy, forming a deep bond with a boy could be something so sweet and innocent and natural. At 12, back in the 90s, what I felt towards boys made me feel wrong, like I was creepy or dirty. Even just a hint of a relationship like that between Luca and Alberto would have made me feel less alone and less wrong.
Queer people were once queer children, even before discovering anything about sex. Queer children, even those who still don’t know themselves, especially those, deserve to see themselves in their heroes. The representation in Luca may have been accidental, but it’s so, so important.
