I miss my silly little technicolored ponies. I got a bunch of new ones since the last time I was here (unless you're in a Certain Discord Group), and ngl, I think a big thing that always made it so difficult here is how fancy I tried to make the muse list. might snap and just make a really lowkey one, since the RPC is tiny anyway. writing has been so difficult; maybe some silly little horses will help.

not gonna lie, while I’m absolutely still a slut for otherworldly / out-of-the-box characters, I am missing a very iconically whimsical / normal pony oc. I keep seeing rlly cute YCH auctions, only to realize none of my ponies fit the vibe.  they’re either too serious, too mystical, or midnight’s body type not fitting the typical bases.  I’m screaming.

How Midnight, when she becomes older - if she makes it that far - mellows out greatly.  Still a very prideful and determined individual, but very introspective in a sense of "What was it all for?".  Not quite nihilism, but rather looking back on a youth spent chasing the unknown; always running after the unseen, rather than living in the moment, with those around her.

How much she has missed out in her pursuit of knowledge; of a power she had no intention of using. Always moving, never stopping. All these things beyond the comprehension of most, and so few to share them with. 

And especially in scenarios where she does have children, there will be so much knowledge to give them, and yet nothing that a child needs; what a person needs. Hers is a story of dusty tomes and dark rooms, hidden away behind a facade. The stories she has to tell are never truly hers, only what she has heard from others as she served them food. I think, in the end, Midnight does not have regrets as much as she has lamentations.

the fact that midnight finds poison completely unoriginal and boring, but does have all the knowledge needed to use it.  from mixing the poison to baking a fitting treat, and combining the two.  food for thought.

Casually, the same way you love to breathe.  You  want  someone  who  will  see  your  favorite  flower  and  will  give  it  to  you,  without  even  thinking  about  it.  You  want  someone  who  will  remember  all  the  little  details  about  you,  the  things  so  seemingly  unimportant  but  that  matter  more  than  you  thought  they  did.  You  want  someone  who  will  still  be  there,  thirty  years  down  the  line,  holding  your  hand  while  the  two  of  you  do  two  separate  things.  You  want  the  intimacy  of  being  known  by  someone  who  makes  you  feel  safe.  You  don't  want  expensive  dinners  or  grand  proposals.  You  want  someone  who  will  love  you  consistently.

Midnight is the kind of kirin who has an incredibly good control over her anger and thus nirik form, even able to transform only partially.  but when her patience and tolerance does snap, it’s a proper inferno of flame and magic.  if Midnight is ever pushed far enough to transform outside of her control, god can’t help you anymore.

the most likely cause is a threat to those she cares for, which is another reason why it is such a rare occurrence for her.  in her default verse, Midnight does not have any bonds close enough to warrant such reactions.  thus far, the only individuals this applies to are the children of Wintertide Frost, and of course if someone miraculously manages to threaten the Queen Regnant Herself to a point where Midnight deems it necessary to intervene, but the fact that Wintertide can handle herself is part of the reason Midnight formed a bond with her.

it takes a lot for Midnight to truly care, but when she does, she is determined to keep those few safe as best she can.  in her own, often skewered, ways.  she dabbles in the dark arts out of curiosity and has no outright malicious intent, but she is absolutely not above using them.  she is willing to burn you from the inside out.

tiny worldbuilding / alezienna tid bit :  although she does have a horn by nature of being an alicorn, she does not need it to channel her earthen magic.  it is easier for young alicorns to use their horn, but this magic does not need as condenced a focus as the arcane does.  in fact, it is much more powerful when channeled through the body and hooves; when it is freely flowing, as opposed to tightly controlled.

Obsidia has little interest in introspection, and does not put much value on how she views herself when asked outright.  Contrary to popular belief - resulting from her occupation and rough nature - she acts more from her heart than with her head.  That is not to say she is needlessly reckless or entirely steered by impulse, although they both are a great part of her personality, but when it comes to making a decision, it is done confidently and without hesitation, based on her experiences, training, and what she feels is right. 

At this point in her life, in her occupation, she has lived long enough to know what she is doing and mistakes are rare ( besides circumstances outside her control ), but she has always been someone who greatly advocates for making decisions confidently, regardless of how stupid they are.  That is how she learned, and to her that is the right way to learn.  Hesitation will lead you nowhere. 

So when it comes to pride, from her own perspective, it has no place in who she is or what she does.  Pride gets you killed.  She has killed those who were too prideful to concede or acknowledge the dangers, and has spoken her mind to clients who were the same.  For her, there is only what is right and what is wrong, something dictated by her heart, even if she does not admit it.

But when watching her, it is clear that she does hold herself with a certain pride . It is in her stance; in her movements.  Just on the edge of her confidence sits the very distinct taste of pride; someone who is incredibly aware of their achievements and draws from them to lead her current life like you would a teacher.  When you get her to speak of her experiences and hardships, it is clear as day that she takes great in pride in having survived. 

Any story of having saved a life is lined with a certain pride ( and fondness for the individual ), but you can particularly hear it if you ever get her to speak of the time when she left the royal guard.  When she abandoned all that red tape to decide for herself where she would use her skills; who she would help, and how.  That very distinct moment where Obsidia decided, after many years, that this does not align with her idea of protection and justice; with her desire to keep people safe. 

Obsidia’s proudest moment was when she stopped being a Pawn to the Crown and instead became a Knight of the People.

Midnight  —  distinguished bi, leaning towards women.  monogamous, but is willing to discuss an open relationship.  prefers feminine and neutral terms ( wife / spouse ).  enjoys elegant endearment, such as ‘darling’ and ‘love’.  dislikes those suggesting a certain youth, such as ‘baby’ and ‘doll’.  

Alezienna  —  functioning pan, leaning towards aro.  polyamorous and open, but is willing to discuss a closed relationship.  has no preference for terms, but will use nature based ones for endearment ( flower / sunshine / buttercup ).  will only commit herself to long-lived people close to her own age.  

Duskwright  —  disaster “oh no everyone’s so pretty”, questioning.  likes the idea of monogamy and closed relationships; of being that singular special someone.  they’re unsure how to feel about terms of endearment due to lack of experience, but they don’t dislike them.  very easily flustered.  

Obsidia  —  (dys)functioning “attracted to damels in distress”, leaning towards femme-presenting people and someone to keep safe / provide for.  a treasure to guard, if you will.  prefers male or neutral terms ( husband / partner ).  does not particularly care for verbal endearment, but is fine with it if her partner wants to use them.  

Spiritcaller  —  undecided as of yet, but has a very domineering personality and needs someone that can keep up with her ambition and attitude. works well with rivalry and competition. likely on the aro spectrum. 

Stellar  —  wouldn’t you like to know, weather boy.
