It's fall and I've scarf making disease again. I have a couple dozen at home and that's after I cleaned out this spring. Yet, here I am making another scarf.

My husband bought this yarn for me, because that's how he shows his love. Screw flowers, I got yarn. Now that I'm not under a deadline with other projects, I can work on things just because I want to.

I picked @leftinknots Autumn Chill Angled Super Scarf for my fun, just because, absolutely need another scarf project.

It has been an incredibly busy summer this year. I have done all the crafts. I sewed and crocheted and dyed and distressed and beaded and corded and more.

I did my first cosplay, post apocalyptic Mercy from Overwatch, which I made or altered almost everything for.

I renewed my vows and was handfasted to my husband. Again, I either made or altered everything for my dress myself.

I'm not slowing down either, as we move into the fall weather. I'm currently working on cording on my lucet for a Victorian Bulbasaur cosplay that I will officially debut at a con next July. I'm nearly finished with hand sewing the skirt together and then I'll get to the trims and the beads and velvet and the lace and the velvet lace. I'm even crocheting red flowers for the bodice.

In an eerie echo of my current profile picture, here I am, trying to finish up this WIP that I've been working on between projects for at least a year. The added spice to tonight's attempt is my 60 lb beast spread across my lap with her feet in my face, which she kicked into place. Monster.

I started my new ugly blanket about a week ago and it's already almost halfway done. Between being a corner to corner pattern and me still not working, I've been able to work on it quite a bit. As much as I've been loving this free crochet time, I'm ready to go back to work!

Number 1 worst thing about being laid up with a broken ankle, other than the obvious?

None of my crochet supplies are in the same place and I cannot get them for myself.

So, I broke my ankle. Well, I fractured and dislocated it. Dislocated it twice. Once was in the doctor's office though. (I'm sure the other patients were just so pleased to be going to a doctor that makes at least one of their patients scream bloody murder.)

Because of this unexpected change in fortunes, I'm home for the foreseeable future while I await a surgery date and then recovery. Plus sides, I'm gonna have all of the time in the world to crochet! My goal is to finish this ugly blanket this weekend while watching the snow fall. From my living room window preferably. I've been convalescing in my bedroom since Monday. I need to look at different trees now.

I think this is the 3rd time I've posted this project in the last couple of weeks. It's my commuting project, something small enough to fit in my bag and that I'm in no hurry to finish. I work on it while I'm on the train and listening to podcasts (shout-out to @truecrimeenthusiast for being my current obsession). Today, it's my road trip project!

After a Whole Ass Day, it is time to sit on this train and try to decompress with some hooking. I am loving this @lionbrandyarn Mandala Sparkle yarn. The sparkle is a nice complement to the blues in this skein. My least favorite thing about sparkle yarn is that it can feel very stiff or scratchy because of the tinsel but this is soft and comfortable to work with. Can't wait to see what this scarf looks like in the end!

I have been on an unannounced hiatus for over a year due to a cross country move for a new job. I have to apologise for that. My life is more busy and more stable now than it has been in years so I'm going to add more to my plate by reviving this account and projects. I haven't stopped crocheting but I haven't really been pushing myself either. The new year seems like a great time to get back into some bigger challenges.

I'm currently in the middle of several projects, like every other avid crocheter I know. This one is a simple corner to corner blanket for my nephew. This pattern has become my go to for quick projects and it is one of my favorites overall. I always use multicolored yarn like these @yarnspirations Caron Cakes or several monochromatic yarns from my stash.

One of my favorite things about crocheting on public transit is that other people start doing it around you. Just a little impromptu stitch club session with strangers.
