Dragons, Art, and Stories (maybe)

Hi, I'm Dragon! Am I a literal dragon? You will never know (or will you?). I don't know how this blog 'thing' is supposed to work, so I'm just gonna post random things with minimal context. I might also post pictures of my (or my family's) pets. I'm also open to talking about any of my interests. What are they? Too many to list here, but I will say Spider-Man and Ninjago.

Introducing....

Serenity Kyle!

Codename: Minx

Made her and her friend (who is yet to be drawn and shall be named later) on the 17th! Soooo. Pretty new. She and her friend were created in a lab (not unlike Matt & Victor, though Serenity is human) and, naturally, given powers. Because what's the point of lab-raised characters if they have nothing to show for it, right? Her power is seduction, meaning that anyone attracted to women is naturally drawn to her. It's a subconscious thing that she can't turn off, but she takes advantage of it most of the time. HOWEVER, there are some exceptions to who is affected- Example. Carter is in committed relationship and highly bonded to his soulmate due to a reincarnation cycle, blah blah blah, rendering him immune to Serenity's charms.

I mean. She's also way younger than him, but I digress. He would be immune to her if they were the same age, too.

Victor and Matt have naturally strong wills from being descendants of Luna, which, while it doesn't make them *wholly* immune, it does give them a stronger resistance.

It's ok to not explain everything. Not every villian needs an origin story. Not every MacGuffin needs it's logic laid out. Not every magic system needs a complex rule set.

People may ask for the details, you might feel pressured to get everything perfect and right, but remember fans thrive on imperfect media. Questions and what-ifs lead to fan theories and fanfic and fascination.

You're not writing an encyclopedia. You're writing fiction. Trust yourself and trust your reader.

I feel like giving y'all context tonight, since I didn't when I posted this image.

You remember Victor and his girlfriend, right? I don't think I ever officially introduced her...

Her name is Marion Eleanor Faye (i love her name) and in that first picture, they weren't dating yet.

She began as a supervillain because she was sent by this group of people (often wrongly called a cult, but they have much higher moral standards than cults typically do) to get their DNA, because the group is trying to go back to Alstraea- y'know, where OldBloods and Alstraeans and Astrum originated from. Why do they need Matt & Victor's DNA for that? Because they've often gone through portals to other worlds/universes and therefore are saturated in portal energy. The group wanted just a little bit- like strands of hair- to study so they could rediscover the portal rune and OPEN PORTALS.

Since Matt & Victor are superheroes by that point, she goes in as a supervillain to "blend in" with the status quo and stuff. She encountered Matt first and flirted with him to try and get him to lower his guard, since he's the more naive and trusting one. It did NOT work because Matt at the time KNOWS that he is not in a place where he would be a good romantic partner. He is NOT ready for that step. Because it seems so OBVIOUS in his head, any flirting goes completely over his head when directed at him.

When that strategy doesn't work, she flirts with Victor, who HAS had another girlfriend in the past, but they broke up because she lived in Europe and it became increasingly clear to her that long-distance was NOT healthy for Victor, so she broke it off. Marion is also totally Victor's type, so, much to his horror and frustration, it DID, in fact, work on him, and he sure enough fell in love. Eventually, she did too. They'll have issues, but things will work out in the end.

I mean... it kinda has to. I've already planned their child together.

I'll take this further. Not only are people who write about controversial and taboo topics real writers, but MORE people SHOULD write about dark and taboo topics.

These things exist! It's not all sunshine and rainbows! People that suffer should be able to share their stories! People who haven't suffered should be made aware of the real things that happen! Both to avoid becoming a victim of it themselves, and to better understand people who are victims!

I do NOT care if you're uncomfy. Then don't read it. But don't you dare discourage people who write it. You know why it's so hard for some people to get help? Because other people feel "uncomfy" hearing about these problems, and make it harder for them to be heard!

That Calvin Klein poster of Bruce that neither are 100% sure belongs to Talia. 742 copies of Kung Fu Panda on BluRay. A drawer full of Fabrege Eggs. The 99 clones of Damian all in various ages. And they don't even know about the fact that Damian's spine is in a jar on Talia's nightstand.

Thinking about the bats and their supers. Bruce and Clark. Babs and Kara. Jason and Prime. Tim and Kon. Damian and Jon. All excellent concepts, but someone needs to come and point out how similar the Supers are to Dick.

like idk let’s go with Roy or Wally. Take a look around at the supers with their birds like hmm “You have the Kryptonian version of Dick don’tcha?”

Damian chilling with super bubbly Jon glowers, “Don’t be an imbecile Jon is nothing like Richard.” Jon is beaming he thinks Dick is the best.

Tim looks to Kon and shrugs. Tim didn’t live through Dicks emo/punk era and doesn’t see it. Then again Tim did get pretty obsessive with both of them. Kon is flattered. Dick is cool.

Jason with Prime plastered to his side goes “I didn’t choose this.” Prime keeps Dicks clinginess to a minimum. Prime had agreed to keep his mouth shut for this post for head pats from Jason.

Babs smirks knowing where this is going, “Kara has a few assets Dickie doesn’t.”

Bruce looks at Clark and goes “Well Dick had to get it from somewhere.”

Cue chaos from the bats as all but Babs thought they were just besties with their super. Dick gets two dads and yes Clark is his super still.

This is so accurate. Dick is Clark's son, maybe not biologically but Dick is a Kent.

i think being able to pick through the things you enjoy and recognize when certain aspects of it are problematic or poorly thought out is really important and seriously helps your critical thinking skills, but i feel like a lot of people need to hear that you really, really dont have to go and look through "[x] critical" tags of shows you like, in fact most people who frequent tags like that and make entire blogs shitting on something you really enjoy and misconstruing every aspect of it are usually very miserable people who are just going to make you miserable. i don't think you're a weird obsessed fan that doesnt listen to criticism if you don't want to engage with that, and those people will only say that about people like you because they want you to feel bad. you don't have to give them that power!

like i have moral ocd and a lot of the time i felt like i had to engage with the most bullshit critiques of the things i enjoyed because i felt like i had to justify my enjoyment for them, and like. i do think knowing Why you enjoy something is important of course, but i don't think its healthy to have to do so to random strangers on the internet who hate you over something so inconsequential, lol. i really don't trust people who say fans of anything inherently can't listen to criticism, when some of the best critique is delivered inside the house in every single fandom i've ever been in
