Pink Diamond isn’t truly dead.
Yes, she was shattered. But you know what happens when you shatter a gem? You get gem shards. And you know what shards are?
Shards can communicate with each other, they can form (as limbs), they can sense someone’s presence, and they can even bubble each other. The shards in the Cluster know that they’re not alone, they know that they’re trapped, they know that they want to form and they can try to do so. To some degree, shards have thoughts, feelings, and a sense of awareness. Gem shards are capable of all those things.
This means that the gem isn’t truly dead; everything that belonged to the gem (mind, body, etc.) is simply split up. Gem shards can form and be sentient, but not like the whole gem. They are simply a limb of the gem with just a small part of the mind. They can’t actually talk, but something’s in there.
If being shattered is basically the same thing as having a cracked gem, only 10 times worse, then theoretically, it can be healed. If a crack in a gemstone can be fixed, so can a shattered gem if all the shards are put together in the right place and then doused in healing spit.
Think about it. A cracked gem is a gem with a piece of the gem chipped away. That piece is gone. When healed, the chipped piece is grown right back. Healing spit can, essentially, create new tissue to fill up the crack. Like I said, if all the shards of a shattered gem are put together in the right place, much like a broken ceramic pot glued back together, the healing spit can do its job.
And we don’t even need Steven to make that happen.
I’m sure all those Rose Quartzes would love to revive their beloved Diamond. And even if they wouldn’t, Yellow and Blue Diamond can easily force them to.
All of this leaves only one question: where are Pink Diamond’s shards?
