Bandai Japan Announces New Tamagotchi Meets Sanrio Set!

Seems like its the week of Sanrio over at Bandai! This time Bandai Japan has just announced a new Tamagotchi Meets Sanrio version, in an all new color which comes in a new set! If a Sanrio set sounds familiar, thats because we’ve seen this before with the Tamagotchi M!X back in 2017!

The gorgeous new shell for the Tamagotchi Meets Sanrio version is a strawberry red, which differs from the existing Sanrio Meets that is pink. This new shell will only be available in this exclusive set which also features a gorgeous limited edition strap which features both Tamagotchi and Sanrio characters and attaches to your Tamagotchi Meets. The set will be released on Saturday October 24, 2020.

Programming on the new Sanrio Meets in the box set is identical to the existing pink Sanrio Meets, so the only difference here is that gorgeous strawberry red shell, and exclusive lanyard that you can only get in this set. The previous Tamagotchi M!X set was a Toys “R” Us exclusive back in 2017, but there is no mention of exclusivity for this new Sanrio Meets. Pricing in listed as open, so no official pricing has been provided. We are sure this set will be slightly higher than the pink Sanrio Meets that is available for sale today since you are getting a lanyard in addition to the Tamagotchi itself.

Hello Kitty Tamagotchi is Official!

That’s right! Remember those Hello Kitty Tamagotchi rumors that we heard back in May? Well it appears that they were very much true! Bandai America took to the Tamagotchi US social media platforms to make the official announcement of the Hello Kitty Tamagotchi!

As with most collaborations this Tamagotchi is based off of the nano platform, similar to what we’ve seen with Gudetama, and the most recent collaboration, PAC-MAN. So what’s this collaboration all about? There are two shells to choose from, the red shell features Hello Kitty and some of her favorite items in pixel form which is entitled “Favorite Things”, and the second shell is a white shell with Hello Kitty’s signature bow and whiskers entitled “Hello Kitty”. Here’s the official description from Bandai:

Hello Kitty is helping to raise and nurture your Tamagotchi character!

Raise your Tamagotchi character well and you might receive one of the surprise characters!

Feed your Tamagotchi Hello Kitty’s favorites - apple pie or milk.

Joey will make a mess of Tamagotchi character’s space, so Hello Kitty needs to come in a clean up after Joey!

Two fun mini games - Piano game and Balloon game.

Comes with 1 Hello Kitty Tamagotchi designed with her favorite things on a chain to take with you everywhere!

It looks like Hello Kitty will not be a raisable character, similar to the PAC-MAN collaboration, but will make several appearances and help you raise your Tamagotchi! The images showcase Hello Kitty’s favorite items on screen, and even her signature bow being worn by Mametchi! Mametchi and Hello Kitty are two ICONS!

Looking further into the instruction manual we are SO excited to see that some of our favorite characters are featured! Characters such as Lovelitchi, Mimitchi, Violetchi, Memetchi, Mametchi, Pochitchi, and Kuchipatchi will all be raise-able characters. If your Tamagotchi meets specific conditions, that we’re sure we’ll find out soon, your Tamagotchi can get a bow from Hello Kitty! How adorable?!

What will you feed your Tamagotchi? The Hello Kitty Tamagotchi features apple pie as a meal, and milk as a snack, which are Hello Kitty’s favorites! Like all the nano’s, there are two feature games. The first game is the piano game where you will will compose music from selecting the hearts on screen using the correct button. The balloon game is similar to the game we’ve seen on the Tamagotchi Friends Dream Town! Hello Kitty will jump up and you’ll need to assist her in grabbing the balloons while avoiding crows!

Bandai America is super excited for this collaboration, and what it means for the Tamagotchi brand!

Sanrio is equally as excited to collaborate with Bandai America for the new Hello Kitty Tamagotchi!

“For generations, Hello Kitty has connected with people through friendship,” said Susan Tran, Director of Brand Marketing at Sanrio, Inc. “We’re so excited to partner with Bandai America on the portable Tamagotchi that will offer fans a fun and interactive way to connect with their friend Hello Kitty throughout the day.”

Two new and noteworthy feature are the farewell feature in the Hello Kitty Tamagotchi. If you keep taking good care of your Tamagotchi character, your Tamagotchi character will go on a journey to London with Hello Kitty! The second new feature is cleaning, when Joey, one of Hello Kitty’s closet friends, makes the room dirty you have to call Hello Kitty to clean up!

If you’re all about this awesome collaboration then you better get your pre-orders in! Pre-orders are currently listed on Amazon and will be released on December 1st 2020. The Hello Kitty Tamagotchi will officially be available at Target and Walmart on Friday, January 1st 2021!

LEAKED: Tamagotchi On Wonder Garden!

Remember back when Tara, the director or marketing at Bandai America announced that we would have some Tamagotchi On news this fall? Or maybe when Bandai America brought what looked like a Tamagotchi On Fantasy Version to the 2020 New York Toy Fair? Shortly after they announced it was not the Fantasy Version. Well it appears that Bandai does have a new Tamagotchi On up their sleeves!

Most US Tamagotchi leaks start with the GameStop inventory system, and this one is no exception! A GameStop employee was checking the inventory system which is accessed in the store itself and noticed there was a new Tamagotchi listed! The product is titled “Tamagotchi On Wonder Garden”, it is important to note that the new SKU showed up, but the item is not available for sale or pre-order. Two colors of this version will be available, lavender and turquoise.

This perfectly aligns with the image we saw at the 2020 New York Toy Fair, remember? Other information that has been retrieved from the GameStop inventory system includes the price, which will stay at $59.99, and that it will be available late July.

NOW IT GETS EVEN BETTER!

Walmart, who’s back on the Tamagotchi bandwagon has just leaked the new device, the Tamagotchi On Wonder Garden! Walmart has since pulled the link since the device has yet to be announced by Bandai America. Here is the listing description:

Tamagotchi On is expanding with a Wonder Garden theme and turquoise Wonder Garden-graphic shell. Nurture your Tamagotchi character and explore Tamagotchi Planet. The Wonder Garden theme has a number of different features from other Tamagotchi On themes that will keep consumers entertained for hours! There are various activities to keep your character happy including marrying to raise your next My Tama which has features from both of its parents. There are millions of My Tama characters each with their own unique look! You can also connect to your friend’s Tamagotchi On or the Tamagotchi On App for even more things to do. The next generation of kids will be excited to have their own digital pet! Ages 6+

Tamagotchi On is the next generation of the interactive virtual pet.

Take care of your My Tama : feed it, clean up after it, help it make friends, get a TamaPet, go shopping, travel and more.

It’s also important to note that Bandai America did inform us that what we saw at the 2020 New York Toy Fair was not the Tamagotchi On Fantasy Version, and they’re right. Vendors attend the Toy Fair with their toys that they are going to market with, so it would only have been a matter of time until we saw this device. We shall see when Bandai America announce the device official, which could really be any day now since the device shows a July 15th, 2020 release date on Walmart’s website. We are SO excited to see that Bandai America will in fact be carrying different versions of the Tamagotchi On. This will open up many doors for future versions!
