Someone made fun of Jordin sparks comment on the title, “A court of Sight and Shadow” saying it doesn’t make sense since Elains visions come out around Lucien and Azriels shadows skittered back from Elain whereas they “come alive” around Gwyn and all I have to say is:
If you’re labelling the shadows skittering due to Elain as something negative then you must also comsider it negative when they skitter back from Azriels own laughter:
So…according to Gwynriel logic, the shadows skittering from Elain is a negative thing which (since the shadows do the same action for Azriel) then its negative for Az too. So if the shadows dont like Elain or Az…Ig in the next book we’re going to get the shadows pov and they’ll realise how bad Az is for them and leave him, going to their true home. Sweet Gwyn.
“They come alive around Gwyn!” Referring to the one, single shadow that danced with Gwyns breath….right…so if we’re labelling that instance as the shadows coming “alive” which isnt even canonically correct then what would you label thiz instances where, unlike with Gwyn, its all of Azriels shadows?
unless they’re referring to the fact his shadows sang back in answer to some singing in which…
I would definitely argue dancing is more being alive then them responding to some song.
oh btw, Feyre felt a spark for Tamlin in her chest. So according to Gwynriels logic, feylin must be mates because ✨ spark ✨ you know, you cant just say Spark = mates for Gwynriel, since Spark is used widely in the massiverse for other things. If you want to claim this as proof of gwynriel being mates - you have to back it up with other evidence. Im sure in the 700+ pages of acosf, between Elriels charged glance and elriel blushing/smiling around each other, Mass - who loves foreshadowing and dropping clues - would have left some evidence in the actual book that Gwyn and Az are mates like she has with all her other couples.
As for the elucien part…who found out Elains gift was sight aka a seer? Certainly wasnt her useless mate who only offered the same advice that two other characters said. Oh thats right. It was Azriel and due to him seeing her and paying attention which allowed everyone else to understand what was happening w elain, that she was then freed from that murky realm, can’t also forget this little gem:

Personally, I think the title “ A court of Sight and Shadow” is such a fitting title for elriel (Ik it won’t be it since the title has nothing to do w ships and wont include “and” anymore but)... Az whose experience with his own shadows was compared to Elains experience with her sight powers. Az who guided Elain through her visions. Az who figured out her gift was sight. The shadows being protective over Elain, they were ready to strike Nesta for her. The shadows helping Az rescue Elain. Elain whose never shown any hesitance or fear at the shadows. The shadows (whose job is to protect Az and give him a blanket of safety and security) trusting Elain alone w him. The shadows that went still when finding out Elain was hurt, Jordin Sparks nailed it with such a good potential title. Didnt a very popular Gwynriel comment under her video telling her to make sure she “read” the bonus…and even doing so she is an elriel stan? I love smart people, who dont allow themselves to be brainwashed into shipping whats popular, so much 🥰
