A Dream Come True

The priestess steps into the darkened temple. White candles encircle the tall statue of a woman raising her hands to the sky. The priestess lights another candle and kneels before her Goddess. There's a subtle aroma emanating from a wreath of yellow star flowers that crown the statue. It creates a sweetly smokey mix, the perfect atmosphere for meditation and sacred ritual.

Tea Tasters are trained experts with a passionate love for the beverage, who choose how they will grade a tea based on parameters set out by their colleagues in the industry. They make the tough decisions, identifying the tea's quality by slurping it from a spoon, passing it over the tongue and then spitting it back out. They note flavours, colours, leaf size and shape and how all of these come together in relationship to each other.

Darjeeling FTGFOP

Excerpt from my tea tarot -

Known as the “Champagne of teas” for its fine floral aroma and muscatel flavour. The colour of the brew depends on what time of year the leaves were picked. Light brews indicate a first flush picked between late February and mid April. A darker nutty brown colour reveals that the tea was harvested during the monsoon season of July through to September. It is a fresh, fruity and also slightly vegetal tea. Darjeeling's are complex and brewing it correctly may take some trial and error. To start with try steeping the leaves in boiling water for around 2 minutes.
