What type of food? Weird food actually. You could get really nice sandwiches here, and their green tea (whether it be hot or cold) was just sublime. 

Some of the stuff was simple, like roast beef or ham and cheese layered high, but then you could get fun things. 

Fun things like chicken salad and with mayonnaise between two slices of toasted raisin bread. It sounded awful, Neji had to admit, but by god it was amazing. 

They also had massive cookies and bakery items, slices of fresh pie that would make even sugar-haters mouthwater. 

Their soups were rather excellent as well, and they even dabbled in some spicier blends on special days. Today happened to be a special day. 

“You’ll see when you look at the menu” He said cryptically, leading Lee through the store-portion of the establishment and bringing him to the restaurant half. 

Weird little place, but Neji loved it.

Soccer accidents ~ Meiko & Neji

Another boring afternoon. Where were all the soccer players, by the way? She truly missed playing a good match during her times at highschool. College felt so, so different than she imagined. Not like it bothered her.

Lost in her thoughts, she kicked the ball and flew across the field. Only to fall straight into someone’s face. Worried, Meiko ran towards the unknown person to make sure it wasn’t that hard. She couldn’t have kicked it that hard, could she?

“Hey! You okay?”

The ball had definitely come as a surprise. Yes, Neji could see now, and you’d think he’d be able to spot a soccer ball flying at him at one thousand miles per hour, but no. Nope. It was almost as if he had been blinded. Again. 

The bone did not break, but the hit was so jarring that it triggered a nosebleed, the smell of metal invading his sinus cavity and a dull ring sounding in his head. 

Neji blinked a few times, holding his nose and both nodding and shaking his head at the same time.

Absolutely Desperate (open starter)

It had been a long time, a very long time, since he had really taken the time to look at what was going on around campus. So many new people, so many old people gone. Even his psychology teacher had been sacked. The only constants he had in his life at the moment was the martial arts club and his friend Lee. 

Yup, Neji’s friend count had officially dwindled to one person. He hadn’t been very present as of late, after all. 

Stress evident in the lines of his face, he wandered the campus, trying to memorize the faces of every new person he saw pass him. 

Everything was different. How hadn’t he noticed these changes?

She walks around the campus. Honestly, it was so big, she eventually got used to get a daily walk around there. She looks around the place, the buildings, the benchs, everything about it was precious-

BUMP.

Mia falls to the ground, dropping her cellphone in the proccess and falling on a bunch of leaves. She rises her head, where she notices she bumped into a young man. Quickly standing up, she runs to the stranger.

Neji widened his heterochromus eyes, blinking at the girl he had inadvertently knocked to the ground. 

The brunette honestly could not recall if the bump had been his fault, but something about seeing the girl’s scattered belongings made him feel extremely guilty. 

He also took note that she was a new face, one he hadn’t really seen before. 

“I’m fine, miss. No need to apologize... Are you alright though? You hit the ground rather hard,” he said simply, pacing over to her fallen phone and picking it up from the leaves. 

No scratches, that was good.

He handed it to her and, remembering social etiquette, offered her a little smile.

Lee let himself get tugged, liking being able to watch Neji as he walked. He used to always be so careful… now he could walk and see and really experience the world around him. 

He hummed lightly, looking around at the bustling town as people he knew walked by. 

His hair bounced with each step, and Lee felt really peaceful, that is, until he bumped right into neji’s back. 

“Huh?”

Neji had stopped all of a sudden, waiting for the light to change so they couls cross the little street. 

“Neji nobody’s there, just cross the street.”

To make a point Lee walked in front of him, moving his foot toward the road when a car sped by. 

He guessed he could never be too careful, and after some scolding let Neji take the lead again.

Lee was an idiot, he really was. How could you not heed the rules of the street? How could anybody not heed them?? They were fairly simple, and following them can and does save lives. 

Red light means stop. 

Green light means go, correct? 

Red hand means pedestrians stop walking, little white man means they start. 

These rules were so simple, yet Neji looked around and saw so many people breaking them, even Lee! 

And even worse, Lee had almost been hit!

Neji protectively held Lee’s hand, pulling him around one more corner before they arrived at a quaint little cafe that his cousin had introduced him to.

Neji was currently nudging a very thin, fragile line with a large, metal tipped boot. Metaphorically speaking, of course. 

He still, after all these months, had absolutely no clue as to what his relationship with his dear friend Lee was, or what it even had the potential to grow into. 

So he was cautious, choosing to accept his own confusion, embrace it (albeit fussily), and study it as time went by. 

He was currently waiting outside Lee’s house, smiling just slightly as he listened to the shrill screech of his loud yet well intentioned mother, and the deep booming laugh of his father. 

They were an odd family, but… At this point Neji considered them to be his own blood. 

He was taking Lee out to lunch. Whether this was a ‘date’ or an ‘outing’, he wasn’t sure. He’d let Lee take the reigns on this one, he supposed. He hoped that the bowl headed boy didn’t mess things up.

Lee honestly had no idea what this was. Was it a date..? Was it a friend outing..?

He didn’t know whether to go full on cute nerd sweater or casual tank top, so he went with a striped green crew neck. Under it he wore black shorts, throwing blue sandals on his tanned feet.

Alright so this wasn’t really a date kind of outfit…

He did an odd shuffle over to the door, opening it and greeting Neji. But of course his parents had to embarrass him, his dad kissing him sloppily on the forehead and his mother wiping nonexistent dirt off his face.

Oh god… Why were his parents so weird..??

“Have fun on your daaaate~”

Lee flushed at these words. Date? Maybe he should’ve worn something cuter… Even his dad thought it was a date.

Neji felt a little smile slip onto his face, and he waved politely at Lee’s family, greeting them briefly. Once they had dragged each other back over the threshold. Neji focused his attention on his date. 

“So, Lee, are you ready?” He inquired softly, a curious air to his usually haughty voice. 

He didn’t really wait for an answer, wrapping cold fingers around Lee’s wrist and carefully leading him along the side of the road. IT was odd that they had no sidewalks here. There had been a sidewalk just a block away, why not have some here? Town geography was odd. 

He had a place in mind, for lunch. Neji just hoped Lee liked it. Lee liked most food, so everything should be fine. Yeah.
