i think a lot of ppl refuse to engage with ppl who do bad things in a nuanced way. someone who does really bad shit is not necessarily bad 100 percent of the time, because black and white morality is a fallacy.

it pisses me off when i see it, and i'm seeing it more and more. IMO it shouldnt have a place in character analysis as a general rule, although it might be helpful for individuals on their own

here's some past art you could maybe guess from when. this was using the concept that they're all different ethnicities + not from america. i know its not explicitly said but The Psychonauts just seems very rooted in the U.S. to me. was inspired by the u.s. government and nationalism and military. psychonauts' themes also stem a lot from the topic of military.
