“We can’t go wrong with pizza, and then we don’t have to track the kids down to find out what they want.” He added with a playful wink. “Less work for this chef!” Jarred wasn’t Mercedes biggest fan. He felt like she only cared about her own interests, in more ways than one. “I know, and I know, and you’re a good person who’s not going to at least try to move forward, but there’s only so much you can take. And to be honest, if she had been nice, I would be asking you how long do you think it’s going to last? How long until she stabs you in the back again? Half those women on the show deserve each other. And I know I’m biased but you were hands down the nicest woman in the bunch and look at everything you’ve accomplished since then. For those other girl’s, they peaked. It’s like in high school.” he said protectively as he tried to keep himself from saying anything too harsh to upset is wife. 

“Yep, the usual meat lovers and the entire gang is happy. No kids whining” Tasha said as she shifted on the couch. “Lucky, lucky” she sung out with a chuckle, shifting the pillows beside her as she got comfortable again. “You were not around for that part of my life Jarred. You have been around her on a personal level. You can’t base it off the show, that group of people were monsters, but she isn’t a monster. She’s just gone through some things. She been hurt before. And she trusted me and Rachel to protect her heart like Samuel does and we let her down..” she sighed softly. “I guess it bothers me because I like closure and I didn’t get that. It nags at me, but I will leave it alone” she told him knowing her were probably tired of her dwelling on the same topic over and over.

Jarred pulled out his phone before glancing at Tasha, “Woah! I have to choose too? I’m not used to all this freedom!” he teased before kissing her head. “I was thinking Thai? Or pizza?” Starring down at his wife, he couldn’t guess what was eating at her, but he was also quick to put two and two together. “Don’t take this the wrong way, but she’s kind of shady and this should show it to you.” He tried to remain calm, but he hated seeing his wife upset about anything. “You did nothing wrong then, and you did nothing wrong now. If she can’t get over it, then you need to stop trying. The ball is in her court now. If she doesn’t want to move past something that happened 5 years ago, then shame on her.”

“Yes” she chuckled at him shaking her head slightly at his remark. “I don’t know if Whit will do Thai. So pizza sounds like the winner” she told him as she caressed his arm lovingly. “I know, I know” she sighed at him as she leaned back against the couch “I knew you’d say that” she said truthfully. Licking her lips “is life ever that easy however, humans are naturally curious, we always ask ourselves, what if, I don’t like the endless possibilities...”

“Well, lucky for you, you are in love with a man who knows his way around online ordering.” He teased as he raised his eyebrows and pretended to flex. “It’s a hard skill to master!” Taking his laptop and putting it on the side table, he wrapped his arm around her. “Do you want to talk about whatever little voices are going on in your head right now?” 

“I am very lucky” Tasha agreed nodding her head at the large man. She smirked at him sweetly before she said “what are you going to choose?” softly. She laid her hand on his arm, holding it lovingly as he wrapped her up in his strong arms. “I never told you about how that one women’s event ended. I didn’t want to bother you with it. But, Mercedes basically brushed me off...” she trailed off. “And I saw her the other day, granted she were leaving a store downtown. But I thought when she saw me she would have at least spoken... I thought me reaching out meant she’d at least be cordial” she told her husband. “I was going to try to approach her for a second time. But she just walked right by.”

Jarred was on his laptop sending out work e-mails. For the most part, he spent the day on conference calls with people back in LA. Even though he was focused on his work, he noticed something seemed off with his wife. He mentally did a checklist and reviewed today, just to make sure it wasn’t something he had done. Shutting his laptop, he thought about her question, “Well I could always make dinner. And by making dinner, I mean order out.” he teased, even though he was part serious too. 

Tasha chuckled at Jarred lightly “take out doesn’t sound half bad to me right now, because I honestly can’t think of a single thing to make” she told her. “Still working?” she asked next as she laid her head on his shoulder tiredly. Aside from promoting the newest album, traveling, being a mother, a wife. Tasha had far more things on her mind and they were starting to weigh her down a bit unfortunately.

Tasha carried the basket of folded laundry into Mariah’s room and placed it on her bed “here you go” she told the fourteen year old “all you have to do is put it up, it’s actually the very least you have to do” she told her in a stern voice as she moved to walk out of her room. She moved down the hallway and sighed thinking of just what to cook for dinner for the family. She hadn’t an idea, and she knew time was winding down on the task. Reaching her husband in the living room she asked “what should I cook for dinner? I have no idea, tiredly...”

Well, I think the first part of my comment still stands. I think if you miss them, you reach out and it puts the ball in their court. If they can’t move forward to whatever happened in the past, then at least you know you did everything you could to rekindle the friendship. And you know I’m always here to support you and will kick anyone’s ass who tries to mess with you. Always, babe. 

You know, things like this are the reason why I married you. I snagged the best husband. Thanks. It’s so awesome to have a husband that doubles as a best friend, you always give the best advice babe.

It’s nothing like that... you know despite everything... I named Mercedes and Samuel, Whitney’s god parents. She’s never met them and I actually miss having them around. So I think... I should approach Mercedes there. What do you think?
