Maybe I'm just trying to meld my fixations together, but what if "Dancing Through Life" from the Wicked soundtrack was what inspired Jack's monologue to Robby? Maybe he watched it with his partner & that was his favorite song from it? 🤭 Or hell, maybe he watched it by himself. We can let our imagination run wild for how/why he watched it. 😆

I'm thinking about that scene when Jack startles Trinity awake. Not sure if you guys know, but there's a lesser-known stereotype about Filipinos getting startled/scared easily 😆 (can confirm as an easily startled Filipina myself!)
So, I've been thinking. 👀
Jack Abbot x !Filipina Attending who he loves playfully startling almost every shift. Since he's so down bad for her & he's such a Flirty McFlirt, this is the easiest way for him to get her attention. Some examples:
- He'll stealthily sneak up on her while she's charting.
- Waiting for her to turn the corner he's on the other side of.
- Sneakily tapping her shoulder on one side, only to quickly walk past the other direction.
- Faking being hurt when she passes him a pen.
- Randomly loudly talking around her.
- Turning the light off when she's alone in the supply closet looking for something.
- Appearing behind her locker door as she closes it.
- Recruiting a young boy patient to get into one of his antics to help lighten the boy's mood in a scary clinical place, like him leaving the patient's room light off & telling him to dramatically gasp when she enters again & turns the light on.
It's their "thing"! All in good fun, right?
Until... things take a turn. She's just lost a patient & Jack doesn't know, as he was finishing up checking with another patient.
He does one of his usual startle pranks by cutting her off as she turns the quiet corner to find some solace after the hard loss. She *is* startled. Jack gets a usual laugh. But then, she immediately starts crying. Jack feels absolutely terrible because he wholeheartedly believes that he's gone too far.
Desperate for comfort, she reaches out to him in a hug. He lovingly embraces her while profusely apologizing. She's unable to communicate her feelings through breathless sobs. He promises to never do it again. When her crying continues, he decides to take her outside to the ambulance bay for some air.
They spend a couple minutes waiting for her to catch her breath next to each other.
"It's not because of your pranks. I couldn't save that little boy that you enlisted the help of scaring me earlier", she says.
As she starts to cry again, Jack doesn't hesitate to hold her while gently stroking the back of her head with one hand. He's all too familiar with the heavy sting of losing a patient & how it never gets easier every time. "I'm sorry, sweetheart. You did your best. Like you always do."
"He should still be here, Jack. He was just 8."
"I know, baby. At least you made him laugh earlier with your adorable jump. That was a good memory for him!"
She lightly smacks him on his head while they're still locked in their embrace that causes both of them to vibrate from giggling at the earlier memory.
They let go of each other enough to talk face-to-face. "I never wanted you to stop, by the way. It's your dumb pranks that make this job easier to deal with. Can you un-promise what you said?"
That's the exact moment Jack Abbot falls deeper in love. When he realizes he never wants to go through life without her.
Hmm, so I'm still mulling over if I want to expand on this idea & write a full fic on this. I got a supplemental idea because if I am to go ahead, i'm absolutely expanding on her Filipina identity to really cement it. The idea might be a bit of a cultural deep cut, but if you're Filipino, you might've heard of the "king ina mo" vulgarity.
If you haven't, it's a variation on the more popular, ever-trusty "putangina mo" ('son of a bitch', this could also be used as a 'fuck you') vulgarity, as well as a shortened "puki ng ina mo" ('your mom's pussy') vulgarity. I was thinking... 🤣 One of x!Filipina Attending who startles easily & Jack loves to take advantage of the fact's reactions to his antics would be "JACK!ing ina mo!!!" ya know, as a cultural, cute lil wordplay lmao bye maybe this is just me being an autistic cultural nerd. 💀 But now, I really wanna expand on this. 👀
Accidentally reported you’ scam

So it’s just another day on tumblr when a beloved mutual suddenly DMs you (or a random stranger) claiming that someone impersonated you and has scammed them out of (insert money amount here it changes often) be it art or crypto or because of content related to CP. They tell you they’ve accidentally reported you by mistake and that the only way to clear up this issue is to contact someone on discord,Microsoft teams, or a random email account. They even show a screenshot claiming your account was reported for fraudulent activity and action must be taken within 24hrs or else your blog will be terminated. You just need to contact the “official” report dispute discord account in a timely manner and clear everything up or contact the ‘official’ Microsoft teams account!
You panic! You don’t want to lose your blog so you immediately DM the discord account (or the Microsoft Teams account) who begins asking you questions before ultimately asking you to change your email address to theirs so they can ‘fix’ the flag on your account. All is well, and you assume that the false report is going to be cleared up…Right?
Unfortunately no. That’s not what happens.
You get locked out of your account and now the scammer logs in as you and starts to send the same message to anyone and everyone they find. The same message that now you accidentally reported the receiver and you need them to contact the same discord account to repeat the same process over and over again and you yourself seem to have no way of accessing your blog to stop the phishing. But don’t fear! You can fix this! Just contact the real support email and let them know you’ve been hacked and give them any information they may ask to confirm your the real owner of the blog.
Here are things to keep in mind:
- There is no official report dispute discord account ran by tumblr that isn’t a thing and has never been.
- Any discord account claiming to an official tumblr report dispute staff account is a scammer.
- You do not need to ever contact Discord for a tumblr related issue no matter how official the screenshot looks.
- This scam can affect anyone, even your friends. Keep them informed and if you can contact them offsite to let them know they’ve been hacked please do so they can get their account back faster.
- Reports are handled through the official tumblr tech support line and will never be through discord/Whatsapp/Microsoft Teams/etc. (Link is to tumblr help center)
- Support center is not: Gmail,yahoo,outlook,Microsoft teams,discord,etc.

> click read with epub
>download the acsm file
>de-drm the acsm file with calibre (make sure you have the acsm plugin installed first)
> you own the ebook FOREVER
> upload the file to libgen
> EVERYONE GETS THE BOOK FOREVER

Drag your ebooks from libby into calibre. Should convert them into Epubs without DRM automatically! Try opening the file to make sure it's all worked :)
Okay but correct me if I'm wrong, doesn't checking out books digitally still contribute to a Library's turn over, and therefore help justify their budget to the county/state/whathaveyou?

Nothing is being stolen — in fact, you're monopolizing resources far less than you would be if you read it normally. Copying the file does not remove it from the library any more than taking a photo of a physical book does.
Also, if the country and state want to defund libraries, they don't care about the usage statistics, they'd do it regardless.
Look, when libraries subscribe to OverDrive, they're paying for the right to lend out books to us. They don’t actually own the books, they’re subrenting them. The deals between publishers and OverDrive are already finalized. The publishers already got paid. So stop defending this book landlord.
also like you figure borrowing a book and then quickly returning it would allow more people to return it in a shot period of time which would pad the numbers and make the library seem like its being used more
