I need a better mirror but it’s #nationalbikiniday and it’s not a bikini but close enough. 💁♀️ Proud of my progress over the last year. I’ve redefined my love of fitness and my relationship with food in a balanced way. Tonight I’m skipping the gym so I can be at peak form tomorrow. Tonight I ate pasta salad. My health is not worth an extra inch off my hips and I am so glad to no longer feel the shame and the weight of food obsession every day. It’s still there sometimes but so much quieter. 15+ years and finally free from a monster I didn’t even know I was fighting most days until I almost died. #kathleenfightsed #bodypositivity #loveyourself

I’m pretty open about the fact that I struggle with my mental health because of days like today. My most recent suicide attempt was three years ago when I was struggling to find work after graduate school. My mom used to say that her job was to keep me alive until I could develop the skills I needed to cope with my illnesses. And developing better coping skills is daily sometimes draining hard work but it is possible. If you or someone you know are struggling please share these resources. I can’t promise it is easy but help is available. And help is worth it. You are worth it. You have purpose and something to contribute to the world, that I CAN promise.
