I can't believe they specifically destroy what Five and Diego's relationship is based on: trust. They don't like each other that much, there are always disagreements between them, they don't have much in common... except when it comes to their fierce loyalty. They blindly trust each other for that reason alone. That's why when Diego tells Five: 'run, I'll cover for you.' Five has no doubts (except for his brother's safety) and when in S1 Five tells them that he will use his powers to get them out of there, Diego is the first to say: 'I'm in.'

I wish they had leaned into the fact that the s4 universe was made by Reginald. Beyond him just nebulously being super rich, I mean. As in, he misses certain technology from his home planet and so there are now flying cars and communicators for no explained reason. There is now a subpopulation of intelligent chimps living in the West End. He hates caffeine so coffee no longer exists. This last detail is what makes Five go on a homicidal murder spree. Do you understand my vision.

“Disappointed” isn’t a good enough word for how I feel after watching s4…. I’m not disappointed at all. I’m just confused. Did the show runners, writers forget everything from s1-3??? All the character development?? The fact that we fell in love with the characters as they grew??? And then they write a season that strips away everything they’d gained and stood for?? I absolutely hated Klaus’s arc because wtf… he came soooo far by the end of s3 and they just decided “nope back to square one” for his powers??? And wtf did they even do to Five?????? Character assassination at its MAX. The fat jokes for a character that looks exactly the same as he did in the last 3 seasons??? Five and LILA???? Don’t even get me started on that. And they gave Hargreeves a fucking redemption arc of sorts????????? WOT? And what they did to BEN??????????? The subway system made absolutely no sense because how did they not meet any of the other five’s during their SEVEN FUCKING YEARS down there?????????????????????? Also also ALSO. OG Ben was always with Klaus. How did his death just not come up?????

to be honest, the ending wasn't my problem. it's not a horrible way to end a show that has primarily been about a dysfunctional but loving family trying and failing to stop the apocalypse. having that family die to save the world but die together and willingly and in the end be reincarnated (ish?) as flowers under the same tree, i think that's really beautiful in a way. it's the details that fuck with me. five and lila are an insane choice, no resolution for sloane, everyone kind of just fucking off and having stories with no payoff that don't actually build to anything, ray just walking out, etc. like the last few minutes weren't the worst, it's really just everything leading up to those moments that were at best highly questionable
