jealous!bad batch boyfriends when you nap in someone else’s bunk
you wake up to him sitting at the edge of the bunk, his stone cold expression softening when he senses you’re awake.
“you comfy over there?” he rasps, eyebrows slightly raised.
“yeah, i guess i just dozed off,” you yawn and stretch out, sort of letting your leg drape over his lap in the process, “wrecker said i could borrow his bed, he’s such a sweetie…”
hunter wraps a firm hand around your ankle, holding you tight as he caresses his thumb over your skin, a slow and deliberate back and forth that makes you look at him more closely. he meets your eyes.
“could’ve just taken mine.”
he says it casually, like it’s no big deal, but you catch his envy, the way it sharpens dark stare. you prop yourself up on an elbow.
“i mean, we share everything around here,” you remind him, “i didn’t think it mattered…”
his fingers tighten around your ankle ever so slightly. just a squeeze that coincides with the clench his jaw. “it matters to me.” he tugs on your leg, carefully pulling you close until he’s able to scoop you up in his arms and press his forehead down on yours.
“i don’t wanna see you in another man’s bed,” he murmurs, brushing your lips together. “and i don’t remember ever agreeing to sharin’ you with my brothers.”
you smile a bit, running your hands down the hard, muscular plane of his chest. “you’re being jealous…”
“hmm, is that funny to you?” he leans in, smirking at the fact that you’re entertained by all of this.
“mhmmm,” you laugh into the deep, open-mouthed kiss he crushes to your lips, closing the distance with a low groan. the kiss is warm and moves slowly, pulling back on your bottom lip in a teasing suck that makes you gasp softly. you take a pause for air, quietly catching your breath as he searches your expression. you look at each other silently at first, weighing your unspoken feelings.
“sometimes…i feel bad for always taking up your space,” you admit.
he shakes his head. “what’s mine is yours, baby,” he whispers, kissing your forehead. “long as you’re all mine…”
you don’t realize it bothers him until you’re switching off a shift with echo in the copilot’s seat after hours of convincing him to get some rest. tech is sitting behind the controls, startled when you lean down and kiss the top of his head before sitting down beside him.
“you’ve been awake for days,” you tell him, “would it kill you to sleep for once?”
he answers as blunt as always. “i’ve learned to function without it.”
you laugh drily and shake your head. “i can tell.” you fold your legs behind your head and lean back in your seat, sighing comfortably. “luckily for you, i just slept like a baby. so you’re stuck with me.”
his lips curve in amusement, unable to deny that he likes the sound of that. but his jealousy from seeing you curled up in a bunk that isn’t his still weighs down on his chest, tightening with discomfort. you glance over at him, surprised by his lack of response. he feels your stare and clears his throat.
“crosshair isn’t one to share his space quite easily,” he says pointedly, “perhaps he’s grown fond of you.”
you stare at him in disbelief before laughing, quickly quieting your sounds when you remember there’s people sleeping in the back of the ship. “oh, you’re serious,” you realize aloud. tech looks at you like he doesn’t understand what’s humorous about this conversation, his eyes dropping down when you reach over and place your hand over his with a reassuring squeeze.
“god, for someone so smart, you can be so clueless.” you tilt your head to the side, leaning in a bit closer. “you know it’s just you and me, right? always has been.”
he laces your fingers together, finally meeting your eyes again.
“then it’s just my bed you’ll sleep in.”
you chuckle softly. “deal.”
you slowly open your eyes to a familiar weight pressed over your side. it’s his long, burly arm wrapped around you as he spoon you from behind, snoring roughly.
“wrecker,” you whisper, rolling over to shake him awake. “c’mon, big guy, i can’t move…”
he startles awake, rubbing his eyes as he collects himself through a sleepy groan. “yeah, baby, i’m up…”
his gaze pauses on you, and he smiles softly. you roll your eyes at how mushy he gets over you, so easily smitten. “don’t look at me like that, i’m a mess right now…”
he shakes his head and pulls you back into his embrace, kissing the top of your head. “mm, don’t say that,” he mumbles, “you’re always lookin’ pretty…”
you sigh and nuzzle yourself against his warm chest. you can’t deny how comfy he feels, especially when you’re lingering on the edge of sleep. “did you move me here?” you ask him.
“hm? oh, yeah…” he glances down at you as you look up, your gazes locking into place. “dunno what you were doin’ in echo’s bunk, but i didn’t wanna wake you up.” his lips quirk into a sheepish smile. “guess i fell asleep, too..”
your eyes soften as you smile back. you touch his cheek gently, tracing your fingertips across his face. “i just wanted to close my eyes for a second. and echo’s bunk is the cleanest.”
wrecker wrinkles his nose at the later half of your explanation. “i keep mine clean—ever since i started sharin’ it with you, at least,” he says defensively. you laugh and press a kiss to his mouth, successfully shutting him up before he accidentally shakes up the rest of the ship with his thunderous voice. his eyes widen before he lets them flutter shut, and his arms come around you tighter as he deepens the kiss, groaning through the way your mouths devour each other in sync.
“i promise i’ll tidy up,” he mutters, “if you promise not to jump into anyone else’s bed.”
you smile against his lips. “just yours, wrecker.”
you know he’s jealous because he’s petty. he never admits such feelings, but the truth reveals itself through his snarkier-than-usual attitude—the little game he plays to act like he doesn’t care.
“c’monnn, crosshair, move over a little,” you whisper into his backside, tickling his rough, scarred skin with some light kisses. he doesn’t budge, taking up the whole space of his bunk with his lanky body. you’re basically falling off, clinging to him desperately.
“ughh, you’re such an ass,” you grumble under your breath.
“hmm, that’s too bad,” he murmurs slowly. “better go runnin’ back to hunter…”
his words take you by surprise. you sit up and hover over him, pushing at his shoulders so that he’ll roll back over toward you. “is that why you’re mad at me?”
he stares up at you with his mouth pressed in its usual, indifferent line. “who says i’m mad?”
you climb on top of him. his hands come down on your thighs when you straddle his torso, now face-to-face. there’s also much more room on the bunk, which is why this position feels familiar, all cozied up despite the impracticalities of his long legs. his gaze is narrow and unimpressed as he looks at you, irritation ticking behind his eyes.
“you’re jealous.” you lean closer, touching the tips of your noses together. “it wasn’t even like that.”
crosshair’s glare deepens. he definitely trusts you and his brothers, but just the mere implication of “that” gets his blood boiling. it’s the most irrational anger he’s ever felt, and yet, he can’t seem to swallow it down. you’re in his head, and it drives him crazy.
“of course it wasn’t.” his spindly fingers trail up your thighs, digging into your ass with a tight squeeze. “they know you’re off limits.”
you roll your eyes and give him a gentle peck on the lips. “you’re getting worked up over nothing.” you trace his mouth with a soft smiling spreading across your own expression. “hunter did say it would piss you off, though.”
crosshair scowls. “as if you all don’t bother me enough.”
you kiss him again, giggling a bit. “aww, but you love it.”
he cradles the back of your head and pulls you in. your lips touch right as he whispers, “only when it’s you.”
you’re pleasantly surprised when he brings you something to drink in a cute mug, watching you with worried eyes as you sit up and take a long sip. his hand strokes down the side of your face softly, his voice even softer while saying, “you’ve been more tired than usual lately.”
you shake your head and glance up at him. “it’s just all the moving around. i’ll get used to it.”
he doesn’t look convinced, but he’s also not the type to boss you around on how to take care of yourself. “you know there’s always space in my bunk anytime you need some rest, right?”
“mhm,” you nod, smiling as he takes the mug back from you to set it aside. “i wish you used it more, to be honest.”
he chuckles softly and shrugs your concern off. “eh, that’s all right. i don’t sleep much anymore.” his eyes soften when he notices your frown, and he tilts your chin up with the pad of his fingertip.
“you’re not a bother around here,” he tells you, somehow seeing right through you before you can even begin to shed some vulnerability. he pauses and shakes his head a bit, sighing at himself. “it’s silly, but…what bothers me more is seeing you in someone else’s bed.”
your eyes widen. you didn’t expect him to care about something as little as this, but looking at him makes you realize that he’s being truthful—the way he always is.
“i didn’t know…” you say, “i’m sorry. i wasn’t thinking, i just…”
he leans down and kisses your forehead. “it’s nothin’ to be sorry about.” he hugs you close to his stomach when you rest the side of your head against him, still sitting while he stands over you. his hand strokes down your hair in slow caresses that nearly put you back to sleep again, but it’s his deep, rumbling voice that keeps you awake.
“i just want you all to myself,” he confesses. “greedy of me, huh?”
“you can be as greedy as you want. i’m all yours.”
he sucks in a breath. “say it again,” he whispers.
you giggle quietly. “which part?”
he laughs, too, and the sound brings you some relief. “just the last part will do.”
you glance up at him, seeing that he’s already looking at you.
