For example if a number of people bond only to one mate they would form a harem, displaying a single or primal bond.
A group of people with multiple bonds, on the other hand, is a polycule and those bonds are also called polybonds.
A couple of two alphas is a duo, often with a single mark on only one partners neck. Commonly dubbed a simple mark.
Omega couples, in contrast, rarely display a simple mark, preferring a full mark. Such a pair would be called a kin from kinship, as they were often mistaken for (platonic) friends.
A relationship between Beta's is a couple with no undercategories aside from hetero, homo and other queer once, in the sense of the primal sex.
Alpha's with Beta's are referred to as siers, due to a misinterpretation of ownership rather than relationship in priere eras of time.
Meanwhile, an Omega with a Beta is a simpship, supposed to reflect the devotion set in-between the partners.
Lastly an Alpha-Omega relationship is called a packlette, since it's expected to result in the build of a pack of their own. Though there are more names like set and con, short for consort.
This opens up to different levels of the relationships commitment.
There are unbonded couples--
not to be confused with bondless pairs which usually don't know eachother and constitute a fling type of relation, simply "hooking up" and never to meet again after.
-- that do have an emotional often friend bond but don't display forms of claim by scent, wear or proximity. These couples go on to bond or break up later, after evaluating the compatibility between one another.
Thus a bonded couple is defined by a claim that is not permanent. Such a couple is often seen together and close by eachother, scenting regularly and gifting objects of interest to show affection and attention.
In case of a couple engaging a heat or rut, they might be mated by a permanent bite mark leaving the partner smelling of the other even without regular scenting till the next cycle or bite refreshes the effect.
Marks that are placed before a shared cycle last from a week up to two months but don't have an effect on the partners scent.
Similarly to an rejected mark. Though they tend to heal at the same rate they cause souring in the partners scent, inflicte stress and difficulty smelling others for lasting periods of time. Even a mark from a heat or rut can be rejected later on and from that moment on holds no legal bindingā¦
⦠unlike a marriage often practiced by Beta pairs. The marriage mimics the legal effect of a bond and contrary to a bond is a purely burocratic concept.
A marriage can't be annulled by a partner but has to be processed in a divorce officially ending the marital union. One has to follow rules, to be approved for the process of annulment, like: adultery, illegal activity or another certified and understandable reason for a divorce, while things like: sharing a heat, rut or even bed, theft of marital assets, kidnapping or isolating pups is strict cause for annulment of the divorce aside from the theft and kidnapping being high level crime during the divorce processing.
Hope it makes sense and you can make use in your own head canons.
Bruce: you know how when babies have a hard time sleeping parents take them for drives?
Bruce points to the back seat. Timās buckled up tight and passed the fuck out so hard heās drooling. Jason raises his camera, takes a shot. Heās forgotten the flash was on though and the light fills the car.
Bruce: no!
Tim begins to stir. As Bruce growls Jason scoffs an apologetic laugh. Tim sits up looking around with tired eyes.
Tim, beginning to take off his seatbelt: oh. Weāre back. Good, I have work to do-
I can see Bruce not moving once Tim fell asleep on him, even after his legs and arm are tingling.
Dick would hum to make Tim sleepy and eventually switch it out for a recording.
Alfred is a hundred percent vacuum cleaning the cave and leaving it on for the hole night, possibly following Tim around the manor.
Cass would sneak a jacket around him that smells like Bruce's cape, Dick's shampoo or something like that.
Barbara only hacks the device Tim is using and enables a program slowly dimming the screen. She tries to keep out of it.
Jason cooks Tim stuff laced with sleeping pills, drives him around town and gives him his jacket to "rest" with.
(they can't say sleep around Tim without him going defensive and suspicious of their efforts)
Damien is just putting sleep meds in his drinks or snacks once Tim left them over distraction or lost appetite. The packaging is open and Tim is guaranteed to return to it eventually.
Kon flies Tim through the night and Bart makes him go to sleep out of spite.
Thus every time the Titans sleep at Wayne Manor their is either a huge cuddle pile or a massive fight whom may serve the finishing "blow"(=sleep hack).ā¤ļø
Puppy Tim, (why hasnāt he presented yet heās nearly 18!!!) hasnāt gotten sleep in at least a week (no Tim those 15 minutes power naps donāt count as sleep) so an older pack member scruffs him and drags him off to sleep. Cue cuddles and a happy sleepy pup. Being scruffed is once if the few time Tim would allow himself to purr, not that Tim allows himself to be scruffed all that often either.
Pack snuggles šš that is always so cute!!
Idk Iām on a platonic omegaverse kick (never the non platonic version, that gives me the ick)
I have ideas for most of the bat fam in various designations⦠maybe Iāll make a post like that some day, then again maybe not
⦠specifically in presentation and nurture. I think the obvious thing is the "triggering" of the heat or rut, usually between mated. But that is not the mechanic I am experimenting with. Instead the time of presentation would be dependent on the number of pack members, their ages and hierarchy, own family status and relationships with the pack members.
Thus a character like Tim Drake whom got neglected by the Drake pack and came to slowly build deeper bonds with the Waynes, is prone to presenting late.
A low amount of pack members, only taken a whiff of in-between whole month's and, as the youngest and most defenceless, not close to his own parents in addition to being barely better with his foster family, is in the worst position to go through a highly consuming, endangering and undefendable state of starting a periodic fertility cycle.
In younger years Tim might have experienced a lack in appetite, growth stunds, late puberty, an unbalanced sleep cycle and potentially heavy mood swings as he is not used to reading complex scents which evokes instinctual reactions, not in tune with Tim's own will.
The nurture of pups is important as it goes beyond the socialisation. It teaches them confidence, but more importantly stability. Young need their pack to recognise a base level to compare any other scents to. The family shows them their needs and levels of indulgence, underlining them with emotional tints used to read ones unknown needs in case of confusion. A pup that has to eat will develop the ability to get hungry at the scent admitted by the subconscious. Similarly the pack's pheromones give of a cue for certain growth, puberty and presentation stages. A child with a lack of hormones might not grow as genetics demand and a pup's pack is like an external emittance factor.
I might add the concept of "cuddle" rut/ heat as a counterpart to PMS. Basically a cuddle rut has the affected alpha turn calm and chill, willing to den and be surrounded by save family and friends, including the partners. An omega might build a new nest and demand the youngest or favourite pack member to join them in it. They are a sort of recovery and energy saving thing.
All periodic cycles leave the body with some sort of lack. Mostly nutritional, but also social and mental needs, like touch starvation, loss of security, anxiety, potentially depression and loss of appetite as sleeping is more comfortable and rentable than digestion and wide movements.
Dick gets adopted but Bruce doesn't want him to become a vigilanty, so he follows the case through comms.
Jason still gets kidnapped and adopted. Dick still has a strained relationship at the start.
The real divergence starts with Tim, or rather Jason's not-death. As Jason wouldn't have been able or confident enough to run to Ethiopia without being Robin, he would have not died, thus not impacting Batman. Tim had no reason to reach out.
But, as we know Tim adores Dick Grayson, so he becomes Dick's and Jason's stalker anyway.
Here is how I imagine the adoption process or at least first contact to go of.
I think it's luck! Pure, unexpected, universe intervention type LUCK!!
Tim still skips two grades. He is in the same class as Jason though and follows him nearly everywhere Jason can't claim the boy for deliberate stalking. For security reasons.
Jason gets picked up by Alfred, maybe after school ends early due to a rogue attack. He offers Tim a ride home.
Tim: Oh, that's nice but I will simply ride the bus. No need to inconvenience you, Mister Pennyworth. * Tim is nervous as hell to be driven by Alfred and sitting next to Jason.*
Alfred: Young Timothy, I insist as your parents will want you home safe and swiftly. *He is concerned about Tim's safety*
Tim: No, there is really no need me parents aren't even home, they wouldn't notice. It's really just not to take up your time, Mister Pennyworth Sir. * Tim gets more polite with panic rising*
Jason is listening and can't remember Tim ever getting a ride from school or talking of the weekend spent with his parents. He doesn't recall Tim every talking of his parents as a hole. They convinced him by spouting there worries over his wellbeing.
As his parents aren't home they, basically, kidnap him to Wayne Manor.
All in all Alfred acts as Bruce's adoption agent, advising him on adopting Tim and building a better relationship than the boys parental figures did so far.
Part 1 (finished)
Part 2 in progress
Damien's reaction to the "useless sidekicks"
Part 3 in progress
Other JL teens reaction to pure civilian Wayne's. (Young justice, Titans, Out Laws)
Loud thoughts and hurting head so I make it quick.
Clark having sensory issues with sound, brightness, fabric, occasionally gravity to a certain level, flavour, scent and food consistency. Overall Clark is more sensitive to light triggers than harsh ones like a bullet being no problem but a pebble in his shoe driving him crazy. His senses are canonically overly super and overwhelming without adjustment and control so massive changes are normal but the smallest of difference in the sound a light might make will be noticeable and distressing to him.
New concept: What about redefining Omegaverse labels unlike gender labels.
For example omegas may be stereotypically protective, attentive and pain resistant. This could be explained with a genetical and evelutionary aspect. They are protective as to defend their own with max force. They are attentive in order to pick up on approaching dangers and emotional tension, leading to a great sense of smell for instance. They might have a certain level of resistance to pain, as to prevent postpartum depression, heavily debilitating trauma or limited childcare due to a shift of focus onto injury rather than their newborn, conflicting with the maternal protectiveness. This way I can have BAMF omegas and we can have more dom omegas showing of natural perfection.
Meanwhile Alphas may display defencive and aggressive behaviour, showing of hight and muscle but widely lacking emotional intelligence. Resulting from familial loyalty, Alphas are prone to keep to their pack, defending the group from outsiders protecting their close relationship with the other members. The physiological bodybuild probably stams from the lesser need for "males" than "females" in reproduction, thus making the typical alpha behaviour a sign of insecurity. Basically Alphas are powerful and tender by need of nature.
Also I would really like to read or listen to fics like this about omega Tim ( X Bart) X Kon, Kirishima X Bakugou and fluffy stuff like Catwoman or Harley Quinn deciding to mother Tim Drake, pretty please. In case anyone knows works like that please comment. I need more feral Tim, I love him!
Many fans: Why does noone just close the house of Slytherin and replace it !?
HP logic: Because it wouldn't work! All houses represent a form of moral drive. Hufflepuffs are driven by emotive concern, Ravenclaws follow logical thinking, Griffindors act upon their sense of justice and equality, meanwhile Slytherin have been thought to obey traditions. Thus closing the house and or replacing it won't work because it isn't the issue at the root of the problem! The upbringing of those who are put in the house, additionally to the following isolation by separation and concentration of such traditionalist as well as classist world views, only end up worsening their extremism, which is the problem!
Cat: I propose an additional class of empathetic and independent judgement for those, who's views have been limited by their upbringing or by missing the recourses to receive according education. While we're at it, why should we stop at Slytherin, when the others also have issues to be fixed. Hufflepuffs may receive a class on effective criticism promoting even negativ honesty, Ravenclaws could be given lessons on de-escalation of emotive or highly tense situations, whereas Griffindors might obtain some practice on reflection or interpretation to avoid pride driven conflicts like in the movies.
