like, what is the point of having a no trade clause if your front office can back you so far into a corner that you have to accept a trade to one of the places you've explicitly stated you do not want to be traded to via the aforementioned no trade clause.

we as fans can not be wild about jacob's style of hockey (i too wish he would not hit guys in the head) but at the same time we have to realize how atrocious this has all been from a labor standpoint. this isn't the first time jacob has made it clear that he's making decisions about his hockey career with his wife/family as his first concern -- she has a career of her own which he considers just as if not more important than his own -- and consistently, even though he is only exercising his rights as a player granted to him in the cba, the nhl has tried to villify him and has treated him like garbage for it. maybe not on the ice, but he IS a role model off the ice in this regard and should be commended for it. and threatening him with waivers should be considered a violation of the cba. the nhlpa is a horrendous bunch of cowards if they let things like this happen to their players.
