I’ve been away for a while due to some personal issues, taking a sort of abrupt semi-hiatus. I have a lot of work to catch up on and I need to get to a place where I can cope better, so I’ll just officialise this mini hiatus now. I’m not leaving but it may take a week or so more to get back on track with my workload (I have 2 weeks off starting this Friday so perhaps I’ll be back then - though I do have coursework to be doing). This isn’t a vague shit post, its not picking at anyone and its not here for some drama wank, I just want to make it clear what happens on this blog, so thank you so much if you read it all!!

    I AM NOT MY MUSE! I don’t think this should be necessary in stating, but I’ll state it once and only once. Foremost, I will not apologise for or make excuses for the way my muse acts. He is his own character, he acts as he acts and he has his reasons to. Dresden has his own opinions on the world and on people - they may be very morally absent / dehumanising / disgusting and so on but this is the way he thinks and acts. I DO NOT CONDONE TO HIS BEHAVIOUR OR OPINIONS.       Personally, I do not agree with most of what he says and how he treats people. But I will not change him to suit another mun or muse. This is how he is and unfortunately, this is how many people in the world are, you will find. Not everyone is open-minded, non-judgmental and accepting. Not everyone is kind-hearted and educated on matters such a gender roles, social problems and many others Tumblr goes overboard with. Yes I support the existences of ‘non-straight / non-cis’ people as much as straight and cis people and so on, yes I support equality between all humans and animals and so on but Dresden will not necessarily.      › He was born in 1941 ‹  he is not an understanding or compassionate character in himself - he lacks a heart, he is a sociopath, he is nihilistic in his thinking, he does not feel love or empathy - as well as on the front that the time period he is from leaves him to experience a lack of what, for example, a transsexual person will go through. This is meant to explore an old-fashioned set of social thinking. Even in modern verse, he is adverse to this. I would like people to understand that this is the type of person he is - I am roleplaying a real person, just as an LGBTQA+ person is real. What is unrealistic is to expect he will not be offensive, because we all come across these people who use slurs as insults and either don’t care that it hurts or don’t know that its wrong. Do not think that what he thinks on these matters are me shining through - this is not a self-insert blog and I am very disgusted with a lot of the stuff that comes out of his mouth. But I enjoy exploring his character and he is still my twisted child either way.     Even though he is Bisexual, he will make homophobic jokes ( he doesn’t take those seriously and its more a mock towards society’s expectations of restricting sexuality - which he doesn’t agree on ) . He will make sexist jokes and be overall sexist, simply because he takes and thinks from experience. In the 1940/50/60s and so on, it was still a very sexist time period - Feminism only started up in the 60s/70s and even then it was quite segmented to a specific group of women who could become very violent. He didn’t take it seriously and he found most girls growing up to be very annoying, clinging - usually expecting relationships out of him even when he’d made it clear he just wanted to fuck. He works from personal experience and this will show with whatever he expresses. Dresden doesn’t exclude one or the other, he’ll be offensive to all types of people, all ethnicities, basically regardless of who or what they are because he DOES NOT GIVE A FUCK ABOUT THE HUMAN RACE. Nothing and no-one matter to him and he will do as he pleases.     I totally understand if people are not comfortable with having their muse condescended / insulted or interact with someone of such a nature - that’s fine and in no way are you obligated to follow / interact! But it has been stated in my rules to expect this. We’re here to explore different characters and the world outside this little haven of support ( which is really ?? pretty misconstrued and deluded at times ) which is harsh and sickening in many ways. This is all based on opinions - muses who explore cannibalism / necrophilia - do not get the same type of reception as a homophobic / sexist muse would because the former do not apply to so many people here as much as the latter do. You see these characters in movies, books, plays, real life - so it shouldn’t be any different in RP.  PLEASE DON’T TAKE WHAT DRESDEN SAYS PERSONALLY - HE IS A TWAT AND HE WILL BE A TWAT TO EVERY SINGLE MUSE HE MEETS.

    A forefinger skims his lower lip and the other’s reaction is more or less as drab as the jacket he’s wearing - for one to talk copious amounts of judgement, Dresden will forever not care for what he’s saying. Time passers; silence fillers. An unpretentious observation as if he was speaking of the weather occurred in most situations. Perhaps the man could’ve mentioned any other fact about the boy, alas he didn’t know any.

    The words spoken to him quirk the corner of his mouth, one leg crossing over the other as he leans back in his seat. “Oh yes, he knew exactly what he was doing. Quite right - I don’t think the lad could’ve fail if he tried.” Idly did he toy with the cuff of his sleeve, all casual conversation about people he shagged would bloom like apricots in the spring: naturally. It didn’t surprise him the name had been brought up what with how much that kid got around more than Dresden did, though didn’t mean to say Dresden got around town like a virginal puritan.
