Netflix's sleeper hit crime thriller Dept. Q, starring Matthew Goode, has just scored a major filming update for Season 2.
Dominic West and Matthew Goode among those joining Sydney Sweeney in Studiocanal's film adaptation of The Custom of the Country.
The link is not working for some reason so click on 'View Profile' to find the clip!
Matthew Goode flies in the face of Italian tradition and uses ketchup in his Bolognese. Very funny.
If I had a nickel for every time Dan Stevens died and Matthew Goode showed up immediately after, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.
Matthew Goode - "Muhahaha"
Carl goes viral.
Martin: "Well done. You're all over the socials."
Carl: "Will that get me laid?"
Martin: "Probably, but not necessarily by anyone you'd want."

stalking? again?!
Oh yeah - he has FORM
Wrote about Matthew Goode over on my blog.
Check it out! Or don't I can't tell you what to do.
Heyo! Welcome to the first Fangirl Friday of the year! I just finished watching A Discovery of Witches, so Matthew Goode is on my mind, an
Lovely blog post. I wonder how many others out there suddenly paid attention when Matthew did 'The Offer' ?
He got so much love for that role - but he always deserves more.
Of course Matthew Goode's interview was THE 'top story' ... OF COURSE!
What was our most-read story? @whatcaityfound’s interview with #MatthewGoode, photographed by @scotttrindle and styled by @stephaniewaknine ❤️
2025 comes to an end with VERY Good(e) news! ✨
IMDb lists the 10 stars who ranked highest on the IMDbPro STARmeter chart throughout 2025... Matthew Goode is #3 in the world!
The following is an exerpt of IMDb’s comment on the above:
“(...) So, it was truly heartwarming to watch Goode ascend to the top of IMDb’s STARmeter chart as “Dept. Q,” his under-the-radar crime drama, became a #1 global series on Netflix last summer. We’ll get to see more of DCI Carl Morck when the show returns to Edinburgh late next year (fingers crossed); otherwise, there’s an opening in Goode’s calendar for another plum role, and we imagine studios and streaming services have come calling since “Dept. Q” ranked as one of the best procedurals Netflix has ever made.”
What a year to be Carl Mork! 😉
Old news for us but glad to see Jussi caught up 😂

Thanks so much for reblogging!
Now as a fan of his I am amazed of how I escaped his charm for so long
He truly is so good and I can't wait to watch more of his work
Same story here - watched a few of his TV/movie roles and failed to notice him. (Actually not quite true - I did notice some flutters when I saw him in 'My Family and Other Animals' on the BBC and then moved on). Then I watched Leap Year and I was like ...
HEL-LO!
... that led to me watching his New York Times screentest inteview and I was hooked.
Liam: "Be careful what you learn from this man..."
Actually, Liam, Team Doolally seem to be doing rather well with Carl's leadership. They worked effectively to get to the truth with Liam. Rose and Carl forensically interogated him to confirm their suspicions. Excellent teamwork.
One of the things I love most about Dept. Q is that they give each scene TIME. They don't insult the audience with quick cuts because they think we can't stick with a scene. Scenes have time to develop. 👌
Matthew Goode as Carl in Dept. Q on Netflix.
📷 S1:06 my edits - I seem to have done quite a few of this scene - I wonder why? [Grey sweater 😏]
A Goode Year
- a review of Matthew Goode's 2025
- Part 1
I've been doing these reviews for *cough* years now and every year there is NOT ENOUGH Matthew Goode. This year - holy crap he's been EVERYWHERE and I am NOT complaining. There is so much to include this year that I've had to split this review into TWO parts 💃🏼
Having said that .... 2025 started with the usual drought while we waited patiently for Dept. Q.
January - nothing...
February - nothing again...
March - Still nothing...
April -
Well hello at last, Matthew. We had a glorious new pic of a clean shaven Matthew in a very snappy suit from Ian McIlgorm/Laureus Sports ...
and then... our first official glimpse of Matthew as Carl when these Dept. Q promo pics dropped -
📷 Netflix/Justin Downing/Jamie Simpson
Thanks to Dept. Q's wonderful Lead Graphic designer, Victoria Carney, we even found out that Carl shared a birthday with Matthew Goode - what a co-incidence 😂 -
In May we got the official Dept. Q trailer and we got our proper introduction to the glory that is Carl....
Then the promotion REALLY started and we were bombarded with so much praise across all medias for Matthew and Dept. Q.
There have been times when we would be happy with just one site trailing a Matthew project so we were a tad overwhelmed with all of the positive coverage on the listings sites....
Matthew (and Scott and Chloe) kicked off the promotion of Dept. Q with an appearance at the Hay Literary Festival ....
... and posing for some fabulous new photoshoots ...
Matthew attended the Dept. Q premiere and gave us some funny and adorable TV appearances in May -
Meanwhile we discovered CARL when Dept. Q was released onto Netflix at the end of May. Where do we start to explain the joy of Carl? Cranky, rude, damaged, funny, the worst driver... and yet we love him coz we know that we could FIX HIM if someone would only give us a chance!
Dept. Q was everything we'd hoped it could be - and more. Major kudos to all of the team that put this fabulous season together. LOVED IT!!
Part 2 to follow ....
... sometime soon - ish (just spreading out the joy of this Goode Year as long as possible 😉)
Carl at Christmas: After about a litre of Rose's Eggnog - Carl finally catches the Christmas spirit.
Have a great Christmas if you celebrate. See you again at the end of the year for the Goode Review of 2025. Jx
It's been given a perfect 10/10 rating.
There aren't many shows that viewers would call "as good as a TV show gets" but The Offer is one of them. Starring Matthew Goode and Miles Teller, the period drama, which has been hailed as "consistently charming" (TV Guide), follows the production of Francis Ford Coppola's award-winning masterpiece, The Godfather - and we'd highly recommend cosying up with it via ITVX.
