I used to think I was manipulative bc I would sometimes make certain facial expressions/use body language that would make people see how I was feeling. Then I realised that that is called expressing yourself and I might be autistic

Sometimes weâre unsatisfied with a thing we made because when it only existed in our head, we saw all the things it could have been and when itâs done we know all the things that it isnât, but we canât see the way it expands into a million new things when someone else unpacks it in their head.
Sometimes I wonder how many of the 90 thousand people who have interacted with this post have been like âI think Iâll go to OPâs blog and see what other lovely nuggets of wisdom they haveâ and then get hit with a wall of nothing but homoerotic drawings of the men from the Yakuza franchise.

WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS (2014) + letterboxd reviews
I think the hardest part about addressing child abuse is getting people to acknowledge, not just intellectually but actually responding accordingly, is that the biggest threat to children, the biggest risk of abuse, is family and parents.
it is of course most often parents who are crowing about needing to protect children (often against far smaller threats than family), and pointing out that they are, statistically, the biggest threat to their kids is not gonna be received well.
tbh I feel like most of societyâs rhetoric around âprotecting childrenâ comes from the same place as deep-patriarchy rhetoric on âprotecting womenâ, where the idea is that theyâre sacred and valuable but also treated essentially as property, and the the desire to protect them is largely experienced as a desire to ensure that those property rights are sacrosanct
Gratitude - Tidying Up With Marie Kondo (2019)
I know people make a lot of fun of Marie Kondo, but I felt like her book was the first organizational guide Iâve ever read that acknowledged people having an emotional attachment to possessions as natural and healthy, instead of telling you youâre an awful person for feeling sad over objects.

I FINALLY TRACKED DOWN TOP LEFT
This bedroom set-up looks like youre in a hospital room recovering and your beloved parter, Tom Nook, waits patiently for you to wake up for the first time.
Friendly reminder that the reason you feel so much better is because of your meds, donât stop taking them unless you talk to your doctor first, you really do need them, I promise.Â
Around June I stopped taking my eye medication because I hadnât had a problem with my eyes in months. I got really lazy about doing it; then I stopped them altogether.
Turns out, the reason I stopped having problems with my eyes was because I was religiously taking my medication. Whodathunk. Now I have to work to get back to the place I was before I decided I was âbetterâ (I wasnât!).
If you thought this post was just about anti-depressants or lithium, it could be! For me, this post is about eyedrops, for you it might be about antibiotics, or it might be about zoloft. Whatever it is, please consider talking to your doctor before making a sudden shift to stop taking it. Itâs not bad to be on medication. Itâs not bad to need it.Â
âŚand on a related note, do not let anyone tell you that because you start feeling worse if you donât take your medication, that means youâre âaddictedâ. That is not how addiction works.
Okay everyone reblog this version
the concept and idea of âyou can always start trying to be a better personâ is extremely important to me both in media and irl and i continue to be deeply deeply disturbed by the trend on this site pushing that these ideas in media are bad writing or even morally reprehensible
because theyd rather someone stay terrible or just straight up die than become a better personÂ
from a compassionate point of view itâs deeply distressing and from a pragmatic point of view itâs outright frustrating
itâs fucked up.Â
What is the most important step a man can take?
The next.
I think part of the pushback about this is the idea that, to âredeemâ bad people, their victims must first forgive them for unforgivable acts.
This is false. No one is obligated to forgive you. You can learn from your mistakes and become the best, kindest person on earth, and the people youâve hurt still wonât forgive you, and youâll have to accept that. And that doesnât mean you arenât allowed to grow. Because we arenât just âpureâ or âsinfulâ, weâre complex.
