"You don't need to run away," she said when the other rose from her seat. She motioning to her head. The bruise. The cut. "Pretty sure we know what the doctors are going to say... I hit my head," she said a little mockingly to herself. After all, Katherine Pierce with memory loss from hitting her head. That had to be a joke, right?

"I-I'm not running away," Teagan nervously said, playing with the hem of her shirt, uncertain of what to say to the woman laying in the hospital bed in front of her. The last thing she wanted to do was flee, but she knew she had to be strong for her mother. All she yearned for was to give her mother a comforting hug, but she understood it wasn't possible at the moment. "Sounds like it. Sorry, I'm not much of a talker," the young girl said, managing a soft smile. "Do you need anything, like clothes or food? I hear the food in this place is gross. I can get a pizza in," she offered as she took a seat back down on the empty chair.

"We all have each other." Him, Katerina, Teagan, her siblings - a cohesive unit that would get through this together. Teagan's next comment though, broke his heart - not just for her, but for Katerina as well. "I..." He sighs, licking his lips over, "I'm not going to force you to do anything you don't want to. But she's your mother, even if she doesn't have memory of it. That hasn't changed." He spoke, "We want her to get her memory back, she's going to need our help with that. That includes you. Memory loss patients often regain their memory with the help of their loved ones, telling them about the relationship they had, memories they cherish, little things here and there. Don't give up on her, she's going to need you."

Yet, she did long for New Orleans, her real home. A place that her children had not been able to see. But, she did have pieces of home here. One of them was the many kids that came about as time passed. At first she had been reading notes from a session, but then she realized a familiar figure sitting next to her. The brunette was busy drawing, something that Klaus loved to do. With a small smile, she cleared her throat realizing that it was Teagan. "Oh gosh, no. I just didn't realize you were sitting here. What are you drawing?"

He made his ways into the grill and towards the bar. After all these years he was still annoyed he was stuck in Mystic Falls of all places, but this had brought him his family so for that he was grateful.

Of course he never really saw himself as a father, but stepping in to look after Hope when they had lost Elijah and Klaus, had made him realise he wanted that feeling - and that Davina would be a great mother too. “That’s a shame, to mark an art piece.” He got it though, school was school - things needed to get graded. He didn’t miss the way her tone shifted, and while Elijah was feeling his own way about his wife not remembering him or his kids, he opted to put himself on the backburner. His feelings didn’t matter. Katerina’s did, their kids did. Katerina’s safety mattered too - he’d manage. “One thing I’ve learned in my long life is nothing is ever really permanent.” Death, memory loss (his was more so magically induced but it was undone). That made him wonder, if Katerina turned - the vampire blood, would that heal her? Regain her memories? Elijah wills his mind away from the thought. 

Seeing Teagan fidget, Elijah placed a comforting arm around her shoulders, pulling her into his side before he places a kiss to the side of her head. “It’s going to be okay. It’s going to be painful, but we should just be glad that she’s still here with us.” He’d take memoryless Katerina over dead Katerina. A smile then, reminding himself he needed to be strong for his family. “I’m fine.”

lincoln was walking down the middle of the mostly deserted street, returning from one of his many adventures around the area. today was a trip to the falls, time spent jumping into the chilly waters and reading peacefully under the forest canopy. he gently smacks the headlamp that flickers on his head, pulling an annoyed groan from deep within the lad. it's just as he rounds the corner of a block that he notices the other there, pausing his smacks and opting to pull the band off his head. " hey, uh, teagan right? " he greets with a quick wave, sliding the band into the bag on his back before taking a few more steps forward. " are you drawing in the dark right now? 'cause if that's the case, draw m— " he asks while he sits down in the spot beside her, only then coming to realize that the other was so engrossed in their sketch book that they had no idea he was even there. a few awkward and forced coughs pulled her attention to him, and the moment her eyes meet his he cracks a bright smile. " well, originally i was going to ask you to draw me like one of your french girls, but then you didn't even notice i was here so the moment wore off. now we're just two people sitting here on this bench. " lincoln sighs dramatically and pats the bench a few times, sits up straight and then, he slowly motions toward her sketchbook. " do you let people see your work? "
