HAPPY REVENGE OF THE 5TH!!!!
A quick rant before I have to get ready for work. Yes, I understand that The Acolyte was a very expensive project. It was filmed in foreign locations and sets had to be built from the ground up. But I’m so sick of haters using the high cost as one more reason to despise the Acolyte’s existence. Especially when they forget that the Acolyte was in production during inflation, COVID and, of course, the writer’s Strike. All of which, I am sure affected expenditures. I’m sure it’s safe to say that part of the high cost was due in part to people who worked on the show were being paid more. I mean, I sure hope they were paid more. Again, I’m sick of the cost as being used as a strike against the Acolyte. Big budget projects, regardless of how well they do or do not do, is nothing new in the world of entertainment. Skelton Crew ranks as the lowest performing series to date, I don’t hear anyone saying it did bad because it cost too much.
you cannot tell me he wasn't a little scared here when she turned off his power
I had a thought that at the beginning of the Acolyte, we see Mae try to take the Jedi’s sabers. Indara, Sol, and then she does take Kelnacca’s, but Jecki takes it back.
Osha is offered sabers. Sol offers his when they meet. Qimir leaves his for her to take, which she ignites against him in anger.
But by the end of the season, Mae finally takes Sol’s saber, then throws it away. Tosses it aside. She doesn’t need it and in a way it’s her rejection of the jedi and the sith/adjacent.
Osha, though, picks it up and bleeds it. She accepts it, holds it, and keeps it as she moves forward (at least for now). She carries her old master’s saber that bled her mother too.

@swshows DAY 2 (May 5th): Villains | Sith | Anti-Heroes Manny Jacinto as The Stranger/Qimir The Acolyte 1.05 - 'Night'
I rewatched The Acolyte yesterday, and yknow what? I'm still not over it being cancelled.
I have mastered the art of being hard on myself for things I would tell anyone else are not that deep
I have no name. But the Jedi like you might call me... Sith
@swshows Week: Day 2 - Sith & Villains
hmm Osha cortosis helmet
I'm trying to think if Osha got a cortosis helmet would she have a frown maybe or a similar smile. I think a frown would equally be eerie...like imagine a Jedi being hunted down by two masked figures with opposing expressions and working in sync.
Some art trend redraws I'm nearly finished with!!
The Acolyte: Teach / Corrupt + Perspective
more please (need more banter and more unhinged duo antics )
The way they immediately call for each other… Osha falling in a recreation of Sol's guilt… Sol pulling her back with the force in a really possessive way… The staring… Sol's soft "Osha…" Osha immediately seeking belief from him… Sol immediately giving it to her, even though it could expose him… The slightly off-tune notes, sweet and hopeful…yet wrong in the face of Sol's lies… The way he herds Osha closely the entire time, not letting the other Jedi take her…
Oh…oh, I'm unwell…
oshamir + hands
if you think about it 'la vie en rose' is an osha song
