So this has an update
My phone has since been fixed as a Christmas present from my dad
But literally, the day after we did Christmas shopping, there was a fire.
We had thought it was out, but it restarted for the worse because I had to evacuate with my mum, sister, and pets while my dad and brother stayed to defend our place.
We stayed at my aunt's (mum's sister) place in the city for a couple of days until it was safe for us to come home.
For some context, I live on a farm in Australia. We had put in some crops for seed and didn't insure it because we didn't think it'd yield well.
85% of our place has been burnt to shit.
The 15% that didn't get burnt thankfully contains our houses and chook pen.
Our sheep and 2 cows are all alive, too, which is great.
The sheep are having a "holiday" at a cousin's (dad's side) place until it's safe enough for them to come back. Our cows are happy to roam as usual.
Christmas itself didn't have any incidents (thank God for that). My aunt and cousin came to stay for Christmas and after that we all went to look at the damage. (Video under the cut)
But I can speak for my whole family when I say that we can only hope 2026 is nicer to us.
