MSConfig - I fucked it up (Part 1)
(Warning: I’m no expert, my solutions might not work for everyone, use at your own risk)
Cause of problem: I was messing around in msconfig, because I was struggling with Windows 10 not booting my system with all my 12GB of RAM. The first problem I made was going from selective startup to normal startup, because I thought: “Hey, why can’t my system boot normally for a change?”. Then I rebooted the system, and it went to an “automatic reparation”-state, which didn’t repair shit.
Trails and failures: ☆ I tried to set back my system to a earlier version, with no luck. ☆ Booting in safemode with no luck (Not trough F8 but the troubleshooting menu thingy u get after the “automatic reparation”-state). ☆ Some other stuff i cant recall at this moment because my second time messing in msc fucked it really up.
And here is how I solved it: Clicked on the choice for opening the cmd and typed in these commands: Bootrec.exe /rebuildbcd Bootrec.exe /fixmbr Bootrec.exe /fixboot
The first one did the job for me, and I got a yes/no/all question, which I answers yes to. The 2 other one didn’t really do anything for my sake, but was suggested to type in at a forum I was reading solutions from (so i’ll leave it here too).
I rebooted and everything worked again! My victory dance was in place and a loud “Woho” was said.
