This tumblr follows the adventures of my corgi, Tele, who was rescued from a shelter in Indiana in January '13. Named after Telemachus, Odysseus' son in The Odyssey.

In my search for a “proper” British name, I went no further than Emma from Jane Austen.

Emma Woodhouse, the protagonist of the story, is a beautiful, high-spirited, intelligent, and ‘slightly’ spoiled young woman of twenty when the story opens. -Wikipedia

Fenris, aka Fenrir, is the monstrous wolf that slays Odin at Ragnarok. Initially, when we first met him and he was tiny, it seemed ironic. Now it seems fitting.

Tele is short for Telemachus from The Odyssey.  Telemachus (/təˈlɛməkəs/ tə-LEM-ə-kəs; Greek: Τηλέμαχος, Tēlemakhos, literally "far-fighter") is a figure in Greek mythology, the son of Odysseus and Penelope, and a central character in Homer's Odyssey.

For about 30 seconds, I thought this was Tele.

But he isnt-a-pudge.

So fresh, so clean.

Pudge’s face and coloring has changed since puppy. Left at 4 years, and right from 2-3 months. 

He has tear drops and a deeper face mask third color. Just noticed his deepening of his third color a week or so ago. 

I used to get all defensive about him being a “black and white” corgi – I was like, NO! HE IS THREE COLORS. (three colors… barely) 

He’s still really mostly a black and white corgi. And the most beautiful dog in the world.
