Luis with a hobby in photography & a love for long aimless road trips where he can experience life and take pictures to commemorate those experiences.
Definitely stops at bars. He's a social creature, and the loneliness of the road while enjoyable for the most part, can get to him. Nothing like a good glass of booze and a pretty lady.
He went hunting with his abuelo, so I believe he'd enjoy walks in the woods too. Close with nature. Likely to spot signs of animals long before he sees them.
A comission I paid a friend for came in. My mage oc Charlotte and her romantic interest Emmrich. Doomed romance [Spoilers she dies twice and you'd only get it if you knew her story].
Banks stared into the void. It was quiet and lonely. At least, for a short while. As he wandered the void he started to hear whispers from all around, faint at first but then they got louder.
"Pitiful. Coward. Murderer. Terrorist. Traitor."
He covered his ears to no avail, the whispers were louder now, echoing all around him. He dropped to his knees, shaking. "No! No! You're WRONG!" He yelled, but the voices ignored him. He sat in the darkness alone for what felt like hours.
Then, it all went quiet. It was so sudden, Banks took a moment to register it. He opened his eyes and looked up. He was on a beach now. It was monochromatic. Further in front of him, floating just above the waves with his back turned to him, was Higgs. Banks slowly stood up, eyes watching the other man. He moved towards Higgs, walking into the water an further out, even as it tried to drag him down. He reached out. "Higgs." He called.
Higgs turned around slowly to face him. He took off his mask, a contorted grin on his face. He looked down at Banks as he pushed the mask onto the other man's face. Banks could feel himself sink into the water as Higgs continued to press down on him. He grabbed onto Higgs' arm. "No, no. Higgs-" He pleaded, hoping that it'd stop, but Higgs kept pushing him further under the water with that crazed look. "Shh. It's alright, pup." Higgs whispered as Banks's head finally went under.
Banks felt like he couldnt breathe. Darkness curled into the corners of his eyes as the ocean slowly dragged him down. I dont wanna die, he thought as the darkness swallowed him whole.

Suddenly, Banks lurched up, gasping for air. He took a few minutes to reorient himself. He was back in the safety of Higgs' shelter. As he calmed, he felt a weight pressed against him. He looked down and to his left and saw Higgs staring right back at him. They both were quiet for a few minutes, then Higgs spoke. "Ya alright, pup? Kept whimperin' my name in ya sleep, so I crawled in bed beside ya to calm ya down." He sat up beside Banks. "Just a nightmare." Banks said, rubbing his face. "What time is it...?" He asked. Higgs peered towards his laptop that stayed on as a nightlight of sorts throughout the night. "Roughly, quarter past five." He responded, looking back at Banks.
Banks sighed and laid back. "And that other shelter?" He questioned, looking up at the ceiling. Higgs kept an eye on Banks. "Voidout. Aint much left. Just BT territory now." He answered. "Ya did yer job." Banks found that ironic. "So I'm a terrorist now? You set me up...and I fell for it." Higgs grinned a little, his hand sliding onto Banks' chest. "Aint ya tired of this cruel world, pup? It aint worth it to feel bad."
Banks grabbed Higgs' hand. "Why continue to save me then?" He whispered. He hated the way his chest ached. Higgs leaned in, squeezing Banks' hand. "'Cause I need ya. Yer all I have left." Banks laughed at that. A pitiful, defeated laugh. "I hate you." He muttered, turning his head to look Higgs in the eyes. "But I can't stand to lose you again."
My bad, it took longer than I thought it would. Part One Here. @j0eyj0rdis0n

It's been two months since Higgs took in Banks like one would rescue a wounded animal. Banks believed he was helping Higgs. That he was weaning him off bit by bit. Surely the man he knew was still there. He'd seen signs, he knows it. Besides, what's a little dirt on his own hands if it meant he was keeping Higgs from falling further? He could fix this. Everything could go back the way it was.
Banks watched from his spot on the cot as Higgs set up a few automated messages on his terminal. “You think he’ll fall for that, Peter?” Banks asked, which caused Higgs to turn towards him with a scowl. “Have some faith, pup, he’s smart but he aint that smart. He’ll be headin’ this way soon. Plan to give ‘im a good ol’ fashioned welcome.” Higgs replied.
“You’re obsessed.” Banks shook his head and stood up. “Give it a rest, Higgs. You don’t have to do this. He’s no threat–” He went quiet when Higgs grabbed him by the chin, expression stern. “Sammy here is a repatriate. Means he’ll keep comin’ back. Trust me, I’ve seen it.” Higgs’ pulled Banks’ head down a bit to look him in the eyes. “He aint like us, pup. And he don’t know the full truth of what he’s doin’ either, it seems. So, we’ll use him to find our EE.”
Banks looked into Higgs’ eyes. Most would see how delusional he was and call him out on his shit, but Banks didn’t. He couldn’t bring himself to. He sighed and his shoulders went slack in defeat. “So, what do you need me here for?” He asked. Higgs grinned and let go of Banks’ chin. “Well, big fella, what don’t I need you for?” He patted Banks’ cheek and reached into his pocket. He pulled out a little USB and held it up so Banks could see. “Care to make a lil’ delivery? Got a message needin’ to be read by some folks in the shelter nearby.” Banks hesitantly grabbed the USB. “Just a message?” He questioned, inspecting the small flash drive. “Yep.” Higgs answered, stepping back. Banks pocketed the USB. “I can do that.” He glanced back towards Higgs, who had gone back to setting up his messages, and then got ready to set out.
It hadn’t taken long for Banks to travel to the Shelter. It wasn't very far from Higgs’ “headquarters”. He stepped past the scanners, stretching a little more. “Fragile Express ID recognized. Weapons locked.” A robotic voice said over the comms. Banks stepped under the roof of the center and walked down towards the terminal. He set the small box containing the USB onto the exchange platform and watched it disappear.
He moved towards the terminal, and a hologram of the overseer appeared. “Ah, the package.” The overseer said, kneeling to look at the box. “In good shape too. You have my thanks. This is supposed to help our systems...” The hologram disappeared for a moment. Then it returned. “Alright. Plugged into the system and... what the-?” A fizz could be heard. Banks stepped back, puzzled. “What’s going on? What’s wrong?” He asked. The hologram blinked in and out. Words were glitched beyond understanding. Then it cut out entirely.
He waited for some form of communication, or for something else to happen, but it was completely silent for way too long. Until he heard the rain behind him, and then the shelter door opened. The man from the hologram rushed at Banks, fury in his eyes. “What did you do!?” He questioned, grabbing Banks by the arms firmly and slamming him against the wall. Banks’ eyes went wide. “I-I didn’t-” Banks stammered, unable to explain. He didn’t even notice the tears, evidence of a Chiral allergic reaction. “That USB was a Rubber Duck! It shut all our systems down and took out the generators!” The overseer stated. Banks’ odradek, connected to the BB Higgs had given him, rose over his shoulder, glowing yellow as its panels spun. The overseer jerked back in fear. “Shit!” He tried to make a run for it the shelter door. Banks cupped a hand over his mouth, staying still against the wall instead.
The overseer didn’t make it to the door. Tar appeared on the ground and hands arose from it, grabbing onto him. He panicked and yelled out for help. Banks was unable to move, frozen in fear. What could he do anyways? He’d just get caught too. He slid against the wall, moving towards the exit slowly and holding his breath for as long as he could. He could hear the desperate pleas of the overseer to be saved. He was a coward. He knew that. He made it out from the shelter and crouched, using his odradek to avoid further conflict with the BTs. He took a breath for a moment and turned to glance back, watching as the overseer was dragged into the air. “Shit, shit, shit.” He muttered, guilt and fear etched into his voice.
Higgs appeared right in front of Banks, and before the porter could speak, took off his mask and pressed it over Banks’ face. He then jumped them to a safe distance that still allowed them to view the shelter. He had come to his rescue once again. Banks looked on in horror, still wearing the mask over his face. Then a bright light erupted and blinded him for a moment. When it finally faded, all that was left was a crater. Banks collapsed onto his knees and his eyes widened in shock and horror. A voidout. Higgs kneeled beside him and leaned in close. “Good job, pup. Couldn’t have done better myself.” He whispered into his ear. And in that instant, something inside Banks broke.
It's been a while since I wrote anything. So, my bad if it sucks.

Banks bled out amongst the mud and tall grass, staring at the sky above as if it held answers to how he got like this. Of course, he already knew how.
It had started with a single man. Higgs Monaghan.
He had met Higgs when they were both just starting out as porters and the two grew close. As Higgs rose in fame, Banks receeded into the background. Yet, the two remained close friends, even as Higgs joined up with Fragile Express. The partnership with Fragile was beneficial, according to Higgs. He'd be able to reach more people, to travel to further places. A noble, if not ambitious cause.
And then Higgs met Amelie. Some blonde in red from the east. Higgs was captivated by her powers. He wasnt the same after that. Saw his goals as not ambitious enough. What better way to unite the world than by extinction? Banks tried to reason with him, but they got into an argument and Higgs cut him off. Said he was *too passionate* about a world beyond hope. And when Middle Knot was destroyed, Banks ran like the coward he was.
Ever since he had been trying to right his wrongs, becoming a solo porter and keeping himself out of any conflict. He felt it was his lack of action that caused this. If he hadnt just stood by while Amelie filled Higgs' head with all this world-ending bullshit, he thought, things might have gone different.
Following this came the delivery. It wasnt unordinary by most means other than the fact that Banks hadnt been updated on the new MULE camp that his route ran right through. That should have been his first red flag. He was chased for through the territory by the cargo thieves up until a well-aimed bullet hit him hard in the side, causing him to collapse. What remaind of his cargo was scavenged and he was left to bleed out.
His breathing was shallow now. He could taste blood on his tongue. Karma had finally caught up to him and this was it. This was his punishment.
Then came the rustle of grass and the squelch of mud under boots. Was it MULE again? A mercy kill so they could burn the body and avoid the BTs? He tilted his head to the side, catching sight of a golden mask of chiralium, though his vision was blurry and fading. The last thing he saw as he lost consciousness was a gloved hand reaching out for him.
When he came to again, he was laying on a cott in a bunker. He quickly sat up, only to wince and grab his side as a sharp stabbing pain shot through him. He looked down as his fingers touched gauze. His wound was bandaged up. Not many people had the gall to go near the dying. Just as his mind started to wonder, he heard footsteps. His gaze shot up, seeing the masked person once again as they entered with a box of pizza. They paused as they saw that Banks was awake.
"Mornin', sugar. Decide to return in the world of the livin'?"
Banks knew that voice. His eyes widened as his thoughts went wild. "Higgs?" Why him? Why now? Why after everything? He didnt understand it, his eyes following Higgs as the other man set the pizza on a table and opened it up, inspecting it. Higgs then turned back to Banks. "Hungry, aint ya? Out for days, reckon ya might wanna lil' bite, Gabriel." He picked up a slice. Banks was stunned, unsure of why Higgs was being so...strange.
"Of all people, I'd think you would have left me to die." He said, earning a chuckle from Higgs. "Now what kinda friend would I be if I let ya die?" Higgs replied, taking a bite of his slice. Banks was skeptical to say the least. But maybe this was another chance. If Higgs saved him, then perhaps Banks could return the favor and put an end to the terrorism. Maybe that was why he was still alive. To redeem himself and save his best friend.
Yeah I'm leaving this off here. Might write a follow up later. I'm unsure right now. And unconfident.
Here are my favorite. Also his side profile is killing me. Lmao. Why did the tar make him blond? Is this a Johnny Silverhand "Actually he's been blond all along" thing or is he getting old or like...
I mean he seems to have made his mecha body in DS2 look like a brunette except any time the light hits it just right and it looks more yellow-blond.
Why is Blond a gendered term? [I know why but I like typing it "Blonde" more]
I know it's kinda cringe but Among Us x Death Stranding.
I hated playing among us as a kid but I love the angst and tension it brings as a story plot like The Thing. Banks is my DS oc. He has a whole story and I already made 2 other aus with him and Higgs but havent drawn em. I just wanted to doodle this because it's easier than drawing normal people.
Whelp, the inquisition was trying to figure out where all our money kept going. Turns out Dorian needed a new wardrobe and didnt tell anyone. Now the pretty boy is facing horse stable scouping.
Cullen, we need more money, need you to go to every town under the inquisition and remove your gauntlets in a weirdly attractive kind of way. Should be enough. What do you mean 'no'? Cul, it's called fan service and it pays better than you spending your time in the tower brooding. Im not asking you to strip. Yet.
