This Tarot card, the Queen of Swords, obviously,  was done for a cozy little fest in my corner of fandom. It’s been a long time since I did anything Tolkien. Anything paper art, really. I’m hoping to get back on track. Missed you, tumblr.

as for New year, I’m cooking tiramisu for tomorrow, I have prosecco and I’m going to start on it tonight. In the morning we’re going to go snow-tubing, then I’m going to get faced with a few people I love, fire up all the fireworks we have, drink more champagne if I’m still capable and fall face down into some salad or canape dish and sleep ))

Best fanfiction read this year? If you read fanfiction :-)

Ooh, I DO read fanfiction, lots of it. I used to read a lot of Fantastic Beasts fanfics in the beginning of the year, but can’t think of anything that struck me as best-best-best. I’ve read quite a few fics in Russian this year, some were fantastic, I think they are the best I’ve read this year, although the name of the fandom probably won’t tell you anything, the canon is in Russian.

I’ve also reread the Starless Road by @emilyenrose it’s one of my go-to fics in the moments of despair and one of the best fics I’ve read as well.

What are you most looking forward for 2018?

Oh, I think to moving and to moving on from a few things that bit me in the ass in 2017 )) actually, I’m just looking forward to 2018 in general.

Heeey you cute little fruitcake you! Always good to see you too! I’m often lurking here and watching out for you and all that ) 

for the answer - my big goal is to move. To another country. To Greece, in fact. To Athens, to be more particular. I have just enought to buy a small apt. there. Flats are cheap as dirt in Athens. I’ve already started learning Greek. I can say ‘a pretty letter omikron’ and know a few pick-up lines for bars. What else do you need to live on, right? But before I go, my other, smaller goal, is to have a little exhibition. I don’t really believe I will, but a gallerist friend of mine offered, so I should believe they have good taste.  And my fave indulgence is designer clothes. Vintage, esp. Or catching something really awesome on sale. Like, I got an original vintage Etro bag a month ago. I still get turned on when I put it on my shoulder.

Hi Tanya!! For the honesty hour meme, what kind of theme/character makes you the happiest to draw?

Heeey, Marta! Sending you love and snow. O wait. We don’t have snow this year ) not much of it, anyways. I’m always happiest to draw givers. Characters who have a lot to share and who don’t ever become poorer for spreading the love. I also love to draw sinners. And characters who think less of themselves and are tortured with extreme self-doubt and self-hate.

for honesty hour: one biggest regret and one biggest achievement?

Biggest regret - I’ve fucked up something wonderful this year and hurt someone wonderful in a way that’s probably irreparable. Biggest achievement - I have an awesome job that gives me enough money to have nice things in my life and leaves enough time and energy to do important things. This job has nothing to do with art. I’ve realized that sometimes a good answer to ‘what do you want to be when you grow up’ is ‘well-paid for my efforts’.

Favourite media consumed this year?

Aah, this year’s been all about media consumerism. I’m really in love with Stranger things and Big Little Lies. I really loved It and Call me by your name, and the Morrowind storyline in TESO is fab, and there’s like at least three dozens books I can rave about, and, half of them have been recced to me here by the lovely followers. I’ve reread the Agony and the Ecstasy wish is my get to book when thoughts about fruit+AD+Vodka smoothies in a lukewarm bath prevail, and it’s still the bestest book I’ve ever read. I’m also in the middle of reading the you-know-what about you-know-which-boys and I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT, I’m saving half of it for the lazy holiday days in the beginning of New Year.
