Am I the only one who didn't feel bad for Stolas at all since the last episode? I just felt nothing. Absolutely nothing. Nothing made me feel bad for Stolas in the slightest. It's as if I don't really care about him! Which is exactly my point. He's been an annoying little fuck to me ever since he was in the show. I couldn't stand him being the center of attention almost every single fucking episode. The words that come out of his mouth are only about Blitzo. And God forbid him from getting exposed and instead gets treated like a UwU baby. Like.... he's so awful and unlikeable. And I hate how fans will shove their words down your throat when you point out his wrongdoing. It's crazy.

Y’know, I probably should’ve brought this up in my last Helluva Boss review post, mostly because I just didn’t pay attention. But in episode 3 of season 2, Blitzo mentions that he and the rest of IMP don’t do assassination jobs anymore. They don’t hold requests, or go to the living world anymore to fulfill their jobs killing folks.

But… why??? And also… since when??

If they don’t even do that kinda job anymore, why are they still hanging around the office? What’s the point in even showing up? Is that just their hang-out now, where they just show up and be around each other? Are they planning to come up with another business? I’m so confused.

I mean, I guess I’m not totally surprised by this cuz the whole assassination business plot was dumped in the trash a long time ago.

Everytime I listen to 'Love Like You', I start to cry because of how beautiful the song is and how it became so relatable to lots of people. Especially with it's popularity. It's one of my favorite Steven Universe songs and always will be. It's so emotional....

You know what Helluva boss sounds like? Steven universe but it's problems are cranked to the max

in some ways, yes? but Steven Universe is SO much better than Helluva Boss. not to say SU is perfect, it has its fair amount of problems. but SU does something Helluva Boss could never do

develops it characters in a meaningful way that feels deserved (most of them at least)

the main characters of SU are all flawed and made mistakes. theres many episodes where the characters do something bad and they face consequences for it. sometimes, yeah, they are forgiven a bit too quickly or just brushed off. but there are a lot of moments where they do take accountability and theres no excuses trying to say what they did wasnt "that bad"

for instance, Pearl taking advantage of Garnet by lying to her so they can fuse more had consequences and Garnet was heavily effected by it. when Pearl confessed, everyone was pissed or upset with her and she had to face she did was wrong. Pearl is a great example of a well written character that has flaws and developed overtime to be a better person where it felt deserved. she LEARNED and GREW which is something HB doesnt feel capable of doing

SU also has a plot that feels like its going somewhere (besides the occasional dumb filler episode), they know how to keep a tone consistent without giving people whiplash, the songs are actually GOOD, character designs are pleasing to look at, and it doesnt make me feel miserable watching it

of course, SU has its issues like forgiving their antagonists too quickly, making their antagonists lose their flavor and become bland when they become better (besides Jasper love her), how they handled Bismuth, how they handled the Diamonds, and how they focused too many times on side characters rather than the main cast which got annoying at certain times

HB to me is hard to compare to SU as similar. even with their issues, SU surpasses the show in so many ways

They didn't randomly just make Garnet forget that Pearl literally tricked her into fusing with her. They actually stuck with what happened before and she was STILL angry at Pearl. Helluva Boss however, is different. They erased the entire conversation Blitzo had with Stolas in 'Ozzie's'. Blitzo telling Stolas that their whole relationship was just having sex and nothing more, to the point where they had to break away from each other. For a while. But episodes later... they're just...fine? And don't give me that 'they worked it out off screen' because that's not how development works.
