Here's some good Hazbin/Helluva critical videos I've seen (since it's so hard to find good ones on YT)
(Both are by GalXE!)
(Left one is by HezuReviews, right is by Autistic Swag!)
(Both are by Madeline Maye!)
(Both are by Cassidy Whiskey!)
Please go check these people out, all of them are extremely talented. Some of them even shared some insight and clever criticism into this series that I hadn't even thought of! (I especially like the Madeline Mayne ones as they poke into how both HB and HH fail at their queer representation.)
C-can I get some headcanons for being Ogunâs S/O?? 𼺠I donât see my mans enough
â ogun is best boyfriend, best boi, best everything! this man is a literal godsend in your life and he treats you like a goddess without being told to do so, as a young black king should
â if youâre apart of his company, heâll be near you 25/8 whenever heâs not training or helping lieutenant pan at the special fire force training academy, and if youâre in another a company or not a fire soldier, heâll make time for you on his days off or even bring you along with him if you let him
â heâs so protective of you even though you can take care of yourself, making sure that everyone knows that heâs on par with captain burns just in case they wanna try something on you
â oh and did he mention he has BACK ABS like how tf is that possible ?
â i mean the girlies are not complaining, youâre doing great sweetie :)
â being ogunâs s/o means hanging out frequently with the overseas group and commiting shenanigans with them whenever the lot of you are scheduled for a day off
â ogunâs affection is PDA heavy bc he wants nothing more to do than show the world that your his but if youâre not comfortable with that, heâll keep it private but still expect a quick kiss before a mission in front of the whole company 4
â you get to run your hands down his 12-pack whenever you two are in heated makeouts in the barracks of the company 4, the way he kisses leaves you stranded in cloud nine and you wish you could stay there forever
â he never forgets important dates like anniversaries or birthdays and makes sure he does something cute for you to celebrate, or if youâre not the extravagant type, heâll take you to a festival in asakusa for the night and let you partake in the chaos
â simply put ogun is a gentleman that puts you in his top priorities and will always treat you good no matter what happens
The Problem with Hazbin Hotel AND Helluva Boss . . . .
is that instead of targeting adults, it shouldâve been aimed at 14â16 year olds. Seriously. If this show were made by Disney, or Cartoon Network, or literally ANY studio that writes for teens or even kids, I wouldnât expect deep emotional writing â and that would be fine. Nobody watches a Disney XD show expecting nuanced commentary on addiction, abuse, or the politics of Hell. You expect watered-down drama, cute trauma arcs, and surface-level âlessons.â Take Gravity Falls, The Owl House, or even Star and the Forces of evil.
But Hazbin keeps insisting itâs an adult show while handling absolutely everything like a middle-school Wattpad story. It swears a lot, shows blood, throws in sex jokes, and calls that âmature storytelling.â But emotionally? Narratively? Structurally? Itâs a DeviantArt fanfic with a budget. Villain motivations feel like Tumblr roleplays. Abusers get soft sad-boy lighting whenever the plot wants you to pity them. Traumas are treated like aesthetic moodboards instead of actual character development. Things are solved with "the power of friendship" nonsense. And arguments between literal overlords of Hell play out like high-school cafeteria drama.
Compare this to REAL adult animation â Arcane, BoJack Horseman, Castlevania, even Invincible. Those shows actually know how to write darkness, moral ambiguity, psychological depth, and consequences. Meanwhile Hazbin/Helluva is like, âHe said "dick!" This is the part where you laugh!!â.
If the Helluverse embraced being a teen show, its melodramatic love triangles, shallow villain motivations, and âfriendship will save usâ writing would fit perfectly. But because it insists on being âfor adults,â it ends up feeling immature instead of mature, edgy instead of dark, and chaotic instead of meaningful.
I know yâall are not comparing Eggman â a cartoon villain who does cartoonish sci-fi evil in a kidsâ franchise â to a literal rapist who sexually abuses Angel and is written into an adult show where that trauma is supposed to matter (even if Hazbin fumbles it badly). Eggman turning animals into robots is not the same narrative category as Valentino drugging, exploiting, and violating a main character. One is a slapstick âtake over the worldâ antagonist meant to be fun. The other is a depiction of real-world abuse. These two characters do not exist on the same moral, tonal, or storytelling plane, and pretending they do is insane.
And honestly, I'm not even mad that Val only helped because he didnât want to die, because I can see that. The issue is the framing. Charlie smiling at him like heâs just another quirky villain, instead of the man whoâs still actively abusing her friend, is what feels wrong. If Eggman ever sexually assaulted Tails, there is no universe where Sonic would look at him with a soft smile during a battle moment, especially being the stand-up guy he is. Itâs not about whether villains can team up; itâs about how the show tries to soften a predator during a trauma plotline it supposedly wants us to take seriously. Hazbin wants to write real abuse but also treat the abuser like a Saturday morning cartoon character â and those tones do not mix.
One thing i never understood about vox is why he hated Angel so much. I havenât seen season two and I donât plan to, but was there ever a reason that was shown why he hated Angel and longed to torment him? Because all Angel ever did was work for Val and unintentionally steal his attention. Did he really just feel jealous that Val was so focused on angel? Cause if so it seems ridiculous to me and doesnât make sense because lately Vox has been pushing both Valentino and velvette out of his picture. I donât think he even really cares for them like that and they donât seem very much used to him.
Also, Vox does realize at this point that Angel doesnât even like Valentino if that was the case, right?ďżź
Dawg why is the show trying to make me feel bad for Valentino???
The way Vox is treating him is no different than how he treats Angel or anyone else. In fact it's much worse than how Vox is treating him. What is it with Viv and making her abusive characters so pitiful??
I don't even think these two like each other like that. The entire time they're on screen before now, they were just lustful of each other.
Itâs been a while since I have touched up on my sing movie OC Christine. I made a fanfic about her, but I never got around to finishing it because of lost motivation that had been really difficult to find. Not to mention that story was going nowhere with her. I was just making stuff up on the fly. Things are changing though, and Iâm trying to put some extra effort in it.
I heard about the news of the third movie coming out. Not gonna lie I hope Johnny doesnât get love interest. It be cute, but sometimes I get jealous of my fictional crushes getting a love interest.
This is as far as I imagine how a female gorilla would look like. I feel like in the same universe, they might almost be as broad as male gorillas, but also thick too just for that feminine appearance. I didnât draw Christine broad though because I just couldnât see it lol!
once upon a time, over 10 years ago, just a few months after the announcement that Motorcity was officially canceled...the creators of the show took pity on their heartbroken fandom and gave us several glimpses of what season 2 might have been like. they saw how much we loved Motorcity and gave us every scrap of info they could at the time, so that we could use those scraps to imagine our own personal "Season 2" - whether it continue on in our fics, our fanart, or simply our own heads.
I'm making this masterpost so that none of this material will be lost or forgotten, and so any fanartists/fic writers still hanging around today can use it for inspiration. if there's any related material I've missed, PLEASE feel free to add it in a reblog or let me know in my inbox! I want this list to be as complete as we can make it! :)

Capri Chilton - Mike Chilton's long lost big sister!
I can't remember where or when it was first revealed that they were considering giving Mike a secret older sister, and I haven't been able to track down the origin. that being said, when it was revealed, the fandom loved the idea so much that they begged the creators to make it canon. Chris P busted out the "magical canon stick", gave us this delightful concept sketch, and "Capri Chilton" was born!

The Motorcity Series Bible
"To help you all understand what it is you are reading, this is the material that Titmouse used to help pitch Motorcity, and it was also a tool for writers to use when coming up with episodes to help understand who the characters were before there was any other reference. That being said, this was one of the very first documents about Motorcity, so many things have changed or evolved from these early concepts." (x)
EDIT: the COMPLETE series bible has now been leaked by Lost Media Busters on X (Twitter) and helpfully shared by @waksworldrebooted!!

Motorcity Series Bible - Redacted Version (Pages 1, 2, 17, 19, 20)
funfact: @peopleofmotorcity was the official? unofficial? tumblr blog for Motorcity, and it was run by a guy named Mac - an animator for the show who loved to tease and joke around with the fandom. before revealing the actual first 13 pages of the series bible, he posted this censored version as a prank - a mix of truth and trolling! it's up to the fandom to decide which is which. ;)

MTV Era Motorcity Masterpost
a fantastic collection of glimpses into the original pilot/pitch trailer that would evolve into the show we know and love today, found and compiled by @waksworldrebooted. "In 2000, Chris Prynoski pitched a cartoon called Motorcity. He made a card and a website promoting the show, which wouldn't see the light of day until the Walt Disney Company got their hands on it."

Hazbin Hotel Rewrite-- That Scene with Valentino and Angel
TW: Emotional abuse, coercive control, manipulation.
This scene contains psychological trauma and implied exploitation. Please proceed with care if you're sensitive to themes of abusive power dynamics.
I made a little rewrite of this scene cuz it felt off to me, with Val's character and his "talk" with Angel. I get that Val is probably supposed to be hot-tempered and violent. Thatâs not the issue.
The issue is how that violence was handled.
Angelâs assault felt forced and rushed, like it was crammed in without real weight. Thereâs barely any buildupâjust awkward comedy, and boom, itâs happening. Itâs all sudden, physical, and more uncomfortable than impactful.
There was and wasnât danger. You feel somethingâs coming, but it plays too much into comedy with Valâs irritation at Charlie. The tone gets confused. It doesnât balance serious abuse and slapstick wellâit just clashes.
Charlie is more mature and emotionally aware in this versionâsheâs not naive to whatâs going on. As for Valentino, I made his character more grounded overall. Instead of cartoonish outbursts, he uses quiet control and psychological pressure, making him more intimidating and realistic throughout.
This scene couldâve been done better. With more weight. With better pacing. With actual emotional payoff.
The camera glides across gaudy decor: velvet couches, scattered lighting rigs, a heavy musk of perfume and sweat in the air. Music plays faintly. Actors lounge between takes. A few demons in various states of dress pose under hot lights.
Angel Dust sits on the edge of a prop bed, adjusting his robe nervously. His eyes flicker toward the door as it creaks open.
Charlie: (peeking in)
"Angel?"
Angel Dust: (startled, snapping to his feet)
"Charlie?!"
Charlie:
"Relax, I knocked. Twice. Nobody heard me."
Angel Dust: (rushing over, lowering his voice)
"What the hell are you doing here?! This ainât the kinda place you just drop into!"
Charlie: (matching his low tone)
"I wanted to talk to your boss, but I texted you first to see if we could arrange a meeting. Except you never saw my message, and it's been hours so. . . "
Angel Dust: (glancing around and noticed Val with his back turned but he seems impatient. As Val turns to look at him, Angel is clearly panicked)
"You picked the worst possible place, princess. You gotta go."
Charlie: (frowning, noticing his expression)
"Angel... whatâs wrong?"
Before he can answer, a smooth voice cuts through the air behind them. They are approached by Val.
Valentino:
"Now, now... whatâs all this tension about?"
Angel flinches. Slowly, Valentino slicks his way behind him, dressed in a sharp red and black suit. He approaches with the calm ease of a predator who's already cornered its prey.
Valentino: (Notices Charlie, smiling with a seeming welcome)
"Ahh! Your Majesty. What a surprise to see you here! To what do I owe the pleasure?"
Charlie: (With a respectful smile, professional tone)
"Hi! I take it, you're Valentino? I came to talk business. Regarding Angel."
Val eyes her up and downâcalculated. A deliberate step forward.
Valentino:
"Mmm. Business. Of course."
(He walks a slow circle around them, resting a hand lightly on Angelâs shoulder. Angel freezes.)
"Youâve got a funny way of doing business... barging in uninvited, distracting my star mid-shoot."
Charlie: (restrained)
"Right. I'm REALLY sorry for the intrusion, but I think Angel could. . . uh."
Angel Dust: (quiet, almost a whisper)
"Charlie... please."
Charlieâs eyes dart to him. Judging from Angel's body language and stance, somethingâs wrong. She sees it nowâthe tension in his posture, the subtle flinch under Valâs hand.
Charlie: (more softly now)
"Umm . . . Maybe I can talk to him. . . elsewhere?"
Valentino: (slightly frowning, his hand still perched on Angelâs shoulder)
"Elsewhere? And miss the magic of moviemaking?"
(leans in just enough to breathe against Angelâs ear)
"You know how hard it is to find reliable actors these days?"
Angel Dust: (tense, trying to play it off)
"Val... itâs nothinâ. Weâll be quick."
Valentino: (still smiling, though crookedly, but his voice tightens)
"Quick is a problem, Angel. You donât walk off set. Not when Iâm paying for every second of film we burn."
(he finally looks at Charlie)
"Youâre a royal, right? I'm sure you understand the value of time."
Charlie: (face still polite, but now concerned)
"Of course. And I didnât mean to cause a delay, I just... wanted to speak as one professional to another. About Angelâs well-being."
Thereâs a stillness in the air. A pause. Valentino slowly loses his smile. Something behind his eyes sharpens.
Valentino:
"His well-being, huh?"
He finally removes his hand from Angel, only to straighten his jacket. The act is controlled and practiced.
Valentino (his voice firmer):
"Tell me, Princess. Do you walk into every place of business and question how we treat our employees?"
Charlie: (more serious now)
"I'm not trying to imply anything. I care about the people I work with. Angelâs part of something bigger nowâsomething that helps him. Helps all of us."
Valentino: (dryly amused)
"Hm. Something bigger than me?"
Angel Dust: (notices she's about to argue and hisses desperately)
"Charlie, donâtâ"
Charlie: (eyes locked on Valâs, careful)
"Iâm not trying to start a problem. Just asking for understanding. Thatâs all."
Valentino stares at her for a long moment. Then he chucklesânot loud, not kind. He turns and claps his hands, shouting to his film crew.
Valentino:
"Back to positions! Weâre rolling in five!"
The studio crew jumps to attention. Lights power up. A camera swings into place. The actors scurry like rats. Charlie starts to say something else, butâ
Valentino: (snapping his fingers at her, stares at her with a glare and once again losing his smile.)
"You, Morningstar. Out of the shot."
Charlie: (stunned by the tone)
"...Right. I see what this is. . ."
Angel gives her a helpless look. She hesitatesâwanting to say moreâbut the lights hit, and the camera rolls. She turns and walks slowly toward the exit. She frowns in guilt, as she could tell she may have started some trouble for Angel. She gets just to the door whenâ
Valentino: (without looking up from his monitor)
"Angel Dust. Dressing room. Now."
Angel freezes. The room goes quiet. The crew pretends not to hear. Valentino still hasnât looked upâbut that tone... it cuts.
Angel Dust: (softly)
"...Yes, Val."
Charlie pauses at the door, turning back just in time to see Angel slip off set with his head lowered. She watches him disappear into a dressing room.
Angel stands by the mirror, tugging his robe shut. His hands tremble slightly as he tries to adjust the collar. Valentinoâs footsteps echo as he enters quietly, shutting the door behind him.
Valentino:
(softly)
"Be honest with Daddy, baby-- You brought her here, didn't you?"
Angel freezes. His eyes lift in the mirror. Valentino doesnât shoutâhe doesnât need to. His voice is low, unreadable, and calm, like still water with something dangerous underneath.
Angel Dust (nervous and stammering. He knows Val is not happy.):
"I-I didnâtâshe just showed up, I swear. I tried to get her to leave."
Val walks slowly across the room. The heels of his shoes click, but his tone stays almost kind. Almost.
Valentino:
"That little bleeding heart princess⌠barging into my studio. Smiling like she owns the place."
Angel turns around, hands raised slightly. Not defiantâdefensive. His robe slips a little, and he quickly adjusts it.
Angel Dust:
"Iâll talk to her. She didnât mean any harm."
Val walks right up to Angel, but doesnât touch him yet. He just stares, close enough that Angel can feel the heat of his breath.
Valentino (His voice slowly raising):
"See, thatâs the thing, mi bella. She did mean harm. She embarrassed me. In my house. In front of my crew.
And you let her."
Angel flinches as Val slowly lifts a hand to tuck a strand of fur behind Angelâs ear. The gesture is sickeningly gentleâa mockery of tenderness. With his single hand, a thumb in one cheek, the rest in the other. He then pressed Angel's face, his grip growing increasingly to the point of Angel's twinge of pain.
Valentino (Low growl):
"You think she can protect you from me?"
Angel Dust:
"No. I didnât bring her here for that."
Valentino:
"Then what? For pity? Sympathy? A way out?"
Angel says nothing. His silence is answer enough.
Valentino:
"Clearly, you forgot something, baby."
Valentino manipulates his smoke into a golden contract, signed with his Angel's real name, "Anthony.â He forcefully turns Angel's head to face the contract.
Valentino:
"You signed this. You made a deal. You gave me you. That includes your body, your name... and your loyalty."
He puts the contract away, let's go of Angel, and steps back, like heâs done talking. Thenâ
Valentino:
"You humiliated me today."
His tone is still low, making the tension worse.
Valentino:
"So hereâs whatâs going to happen.
Youâre going to finish your shoot. You're going to film ALL night.
And youâre going to remember who owns you."
Angel stands frozen. For a second, it looks like he might say something. Fight back. But thenâhe nods. Barely.
Angel Dust:
"Yes, Valentino."
Valentino:
"Good boy."
Val brushes past him like nothing happened, pausing at the door.
Valentino:
"And Angel?"
Angel looks up, exhausted.
Valentino:
"If I ever see her in here again⌠it wonât be just your shoot that gets cut."
He exits, calm and cold. Angel stares at the door, then at himself in the mirror. His eyes linger on his reflectionâthe makeup, the robe, the forced smileâand slowly fade into hollow silence.
I rewrote the scene in Sinsmas where Stella and Andre were reacting to Stolas trying to call Via cuz I thought the original was dumb . . . I also got inspired by people who did the same thing.
The room is quiet, sunlight casting long shadows over velvet furniture. Octavia sits curled in a window seat, thumbing through her Dantalion 6. A soft chime breaks the silenceâher phone lights up. âDad.â Her eyes soften.
Octavia (quietly) ...Dad?
She reaches for the phoneâuntil a pale hand snatches it from her grip.
Stella (her voice sharp)
What are you doing, Octavia?
Octavia reaches for her phone back only for Stella to pull away
Octavia
Itâs dad. Heâs calling me.
Stella (cool, clipped) No. I wonât have you indulging that disgrace.
Octavia blinks, lips parting in quiet protest. She clutches a pillow to her chest.
Octavia He just wants to talk...
Stella (still calm, with edge) And what do you want from him, hm?
Octavia hesitates. Her voice is barely above a whisper.
Octavia ...I want to talk to him because I miss him.
Stella turns, eyes narrowing ever so slightly. For a moment, silence hangs between them.
Stella (icily composed) He forfeited the right to be missed when he betrayed his title, his bloodline, and his own daughter... all for a pathetic, lowborn imp.
She tosses the phone onto a nearby table like itâs trash. Andrealphus looks up from his book, swirling a glass of wine.
Andrealphus (dryly amused) Oh? Took him this long to crawl back? How touching~.
Stella doesnât laughâshe paces slowly toward the window, voice dropping into something venomous and elegant.
Stella He didnât just cheat. He humiliated our house and this family. And now, he thinks he can reappear and play doting father?
Octavia quietly rises.
Octavia He didnât forget me...
Stella (without turning) No, darling. He simply replaced youâwith someone easier.
Octavia doesnât respond. Her eyes glisten slightly. Without a response, she runs out the room, past two butlers, who silently hang a pristine portrait of Andrealphus where a painting of her and Stolas once hung.
[CAMERA lingers on the portrait. The soft sound of footsteps fades as the door closes.]
