APPLE • associated with love, healing, harmony, longevity, life, and fertility.
ASH • associated with water, strength, intellect, willpower, protection, justice, skill, weather, and wisdom. known as the world tree.
BIRCH • associated with cleansing, purification, protection. the traditional witch broom is made of birch twigs.
CEDAR • associated with healing, spirituality, purification, protection, prosperity, and harmony. cedar was often given as an offering. it’s used for protection and the ability to repel insects/pests.
ELDER • associated with protection, prosperity, and healing. elderberries are used as a laxative. elderflower water is a topical application for irritated skin, sunburns, acne, and an eyewash (i would be careful with putting anything in your eyes!!!).
HAWTHORN • associated with fertility, harmony, happiness, the otherworld, and protection. faerie folk may be seen amongst the trees if grown with oak and ash trees.
HAZEL • associated with luck, fertility, protection, wisdom, and wish-granting.
HONEYSUCKLE • associated with psychic awareness, harmony, healing, prosperity, happiness.
MAPLE • associated with love, prosperity, life, health, and abundance. a source of dye and maple sugar.
OAK • associated with defense, thunder, strength, courage, healing, longevity, protection, and good fortune. acorns off of oak trees are symbols of fertility.
PINE • associated with cleansing, purification, healing, clarity of mind, prosperity, and protection from evil. amber, a gem in magickal jewelry, is a fossilized pine sap. pine oil has a scent associated with purification.
POPLAR • associated with prosperity, communication, exorcism, and purification. well known as aspen.
ROWAN • associated with psychic powers, divination, healing, protection, peace, creativity, success, change, and transformation. rowan berries have been used in brewing. bark has been used for tanning and dyes.
WILLOW • associated with growth, love, tranquility, harmony, protection, and healing. also associated with the goddess and feminine cycles. a great affinity with water and found growing near water sources.
WITCH HAZEL • associated with protection, healing, and peace. used as a remedy for bruises, swelling, and numerous other home remedies.
YEW • poisonous, and associated with death, spirits, and the otherworld.
