Needing some opinions for a fanfic

Hi guys! I know this is a big strange but I’m wanting to write a fanfic and need to know if what I’m planning on doing isn’t erasing any culture of any kind.

So, recently I watched Bed and Breakfast for Spirits and am dying to do a fanfic based on a similar premise for Mystic Messenger. However, after doing some research into Korean spirits and mythological creatures, I can’t really find an abundance of information on Korean spirits, and the stuff I can find aren’t quite as fantastical as I’d want for what I’m trying to do.

Many of the more popular Korean spirits are very violent and tragic, and while I’ve been able to find some appropriate match ups for certain characters, not everyone has had a match quite yet.

So I want to know if it’s appropriate to incorporate aspects of both Korean and Japanese mythologies. The only reason I’m iffy on doing so is because I realize that it could be potientally seen as trying to erase Korean culture and history, when in fact I’ve been doing quite a bit of research to ensure I get things as close and possible (but obviously it is fanfiction so I realize it’s not a requirement.)

I plan on moving forward with the story and placing both Japanese and Korean creatures in it, but I was mostly wondering on what the opinion is of all those when reading fics that do such a thing.
