am i crazy or are there parallels between rosie and ursula from the little mermaid? i have no idea what that means and if it's just a fun nod to another musical, but hear me out
there's three things i noticed (without rewatching the little mermaid, idk if there's more):
1. "I'm a very busy woman" when rosie is sitting down to talk to charlie. it's a line in "Poor Unfortunate Souls" as well ("I'm a very busy woman and I haven't got all day")
2. rosie's "Keep singing" in "Ready for This" is also in "Poor Unfortunate Souls" (also technically it's rosie who tells charlie to sing in the first place; just as ursula is telling arielle to sing in order to make their deal work)
3. this is a bit more obscure i guess, but before charlie talks to the crowd for the first time she is talking to rosie. the dialogue is:
c: but how do i-
r: with sparkle! razzmatazz! and that oh so appealing moxie of yours.
i can't help but be reminded by ursula's words in little mermaid:
a: but without my voice, how can i-
u: you'll have your looks! your pretty face! and don't underestimate the importance of body language.
both arielle and charlie get interrupted asking how to do something. both rosie and ursula answer by listing three things. things that describe the other character (physically in arielle's case, and like, her vibe in charlie's case)
...
now, i have no idea what that means and if it means something, but y'know, it's there and i noticed it
ALSO also, with the context of season 2, rosie (with the help of alastor) is using charlie's voice specifically
the voice that we now know does have some sort of power, because charlie saying that vox is the strongest did make it true somehow
of course, the question remains if and how rosie is going to use charlie's voice from now on. since we don't know yet how much rosie and alastor are going to work together from now on (after alastor breaking his deal and stuff)
....
or, y'know, all of that was just a fun nod to disney bc charlie is in fact a disney princess lol
