Part 1

Supervillain carefully lay Hero down in the bed. "What did Villain do to you?"

Hero's face was bloodied and bruises, their breaths coming in short wheezes. Supervillain was very displeased with their apprentice. Didn't they know that Hero was theirs and theirs alone to hurt. To end. And, as Supervillain stared down at the unconscious Hero, they realized to do other things to.

"Don't worry," Supervillain said as they gently cuffed Hero to the bed, "I will take my time. I'll be gentle. And," they caressed Hero's swollen cheek softly, "I'll wait until you're awake with me."

Hero's face was pinched with pain even in their unconsciousness. Supervillain cupped their cheek and stroked their hair. Hero moaned with pain, their eyelids fluttering. "Shhhhh, sleep, my sweet Hero. Sleep and be well." Supervillain put their power into their words. Put their will. They needed Hero to be better for them to begin. Needed Hero to wake. And then they could begin.

Hero's brow uncreased, their breaths regular, though wheezing. As Hero relaxed in their arms, Supervillain smiled. Soon, soon Hero would be ready to begin the end.

Can we maybe get an imprisoned villain whumpee being maltreated by a prison warden whumper (physically and mentally abused, isolated, inhumane restraints, etc) with the whumper driving home the point that no one will ever find out, and if they did, they would not care anyway—they more than ‘deserve it‘ for all their crimes? But eventually the hero finds out what’s going on and rescues the villain, becoming their caretaker?

Villain hung their head low. They didn't have the strength to lift their head, nor did they want to see what Warden was going to do to them. They could barely remember life before being down in the dungeon. Ever since Superhero had captured them, their life had been nothing but pain.

"Look at me," Warden growled as their fingers tightened on the bat in their hands. "I said look at me."

"Why?" Villain whispered. Nothing mattered anymore. They shifted in the standing cuffs, painfully aware that the spikes had once again begun to dig into their wrists. Villain only hoped Warden's torture session today wouldn't cause them to rip open the soft scabs that had formed from the previous day's session.

"Because you should look at me. I'm trying to help you, Villain."

"No, you're not." Against their will, tears began to fill Villain's eyes. "You're just as bad as I am."

"No. No, I'm not." Warden swung out with the bat, connecting with Villain's midsection harshly. "I am not evil. I have not committed any crimes."

"Y-Y-You h-h-have," Villain wheezed as they struggled to draw breath.

Warden was suddenly in their face, fisting their hair and lifting their head. "Listen well now, Villain. I may be hurting you. But you are getting exactly what you deserve. And no one will ever know. They'll just know that Superhero defeated you and you never returned. No one knows and no one cares. You are the villain, remember."

With a growl, Villain headbutted Warden. Warden jumped back with a shout. "I'M GOING TO END YOU!" They roared as they pounced on Villain.

Villain didn't remember much after that, their world had gone from hazy to dark. When they came to, someone was tapping their cheek softly, gently. And they were saying Villain's name over and over.

"H-H-Hero?" Villain finally managed to croak as they tried to open their eyes.

"Oh thank goodness. I was worried I was too late. I am so sorry. I had no idea."

"R-R-Runnnn, s-s-s-save y'rs'lffff," Villain squinted up at Hero.

"I'm safe. You're safe. And I'm getting you out of here."

Before Villain could reply, Hero took off running, careful not to jostle Villain in their arms. The movement made Villain dizzy and they squeezed their eyes shut against the waves of nausea. Maybe Hero was taking them to safety. Or to somewhere else to torture them. But Villain realized they didn't care because for the first time in weeks, someone had touched them out of kindness and not out of a desire to cause pain. And for that, Villain was grateful.

Whump of March 2023!

i decided i'm going to experimentally make a post at the end of each month going over my favorite whump that was new & prominent that month. as a general rule i'll mostly only include series that have had at least 2 updates in the month and started fairly recently.

so, here's some AMAZING series to check out! and yes it's mostly vampires because it's my rec list and i love vampires. 🧛

Several new series by @zillastar13, all of which are included at the same link. Personal favorites are Our Man Flint, where a vampyr hunter grapples with being turned into a vampyr himself; Eden, a pet whump story where the whumpee goes stockholm fast; and Blood Sacrifices (18+), about a vampyr who poses as a god and very much abuses that position.

Things End | People Change by @whumpcloud, about a vampire whumper who's been tortured by hunters finally at the mercy of his former victim. (my favorite trope obviously)

An Earthly Cosmological Redshift by @quietly-by-myself, about a vampire mafia underboss and his lover find themselves in a dismal situation.

Poisoned Ivy by @whumpshaped, academia whump! As if whump couldn't get any more harrowing, now it involves being forced to do schoolwork. (Under the Bell Jar, about a tiny whumpee waking up trapped and alone, was also just completed!) This is one of the only two non-vampire entries on this list.

Blood Bag AU by @emmettnet, a fresh vampiric twist with a widely-beloved (now bloodbag) whumpee and his vampiric carewhumper. He's also put out some amazing art this month!

A New Beginning by @a-crumb-of-whump, about a vampire pet whumpee recovering with the now-grown child of his whumpers, isn't really new (though it's also had some great updates this month). But its poll-based spinoff Carlos & Bailey: An Interactive Story is! Now you get 2 vampire pet whumpees.

Magnanimous Moonrise & Savage Sunset (18+) by @not-a-space-alien, about a vampire being experimented on for weapons testing and the hunters who take pity on him, is in a similar boat. It's had some great updates this month along with a brand-new interactive adventure, Savage Sunset CYOA!

Pick Your Poison by @thebluejayswhump, about someone who gets lost in the woods and increasingly strange things occurring while an uncanny sense of dread rises, is another interactive adventure! The second of two non-vampire things on here.

How about a yandere supervillain ‘rescuing’ a hero from another villain because ‘the only one allowed to kill you is me’, but…well now that they have them at their mercy, maybe they don’t really want to kill them…maybe they have other fates in mind. Could be intimate or not, totally up to you.

Supervillain crept quietly through Villain's lair. Their former apprentice's home was not to their taste. All dark, gothic, and cold. Supervillain much preferred their own Lair filled with light, bold, bright colors, and so open. But they had to retrieve that which was theirs. What had always been theirs.

"I'll deal with you later," Supervillain muttered as they walked past a painting of Villain. And they would. Because Villain had taken what was theirs and theirs alone.

Hero was unconscious and in chains in Villain's dungeon. They were slumped over, covered in blood, their pain still evident on their face.

"What did they do to you?" Supervillain asked as they quickly broke the chains keeping Hero tethered to the wall. "Only I can hurt you. Only I can be the one to end you."

They scooped Hero into their arms, quickly realizing how small Hero actually was. Hero hung limply in their arms as they quickly moved to leave Villain's lair. They were so small, soft, and they smelled...nice.

Supervillain shook their head. They had always watched Hero. Fought Hero. Planned Hero's demise. And they knew that Hero would only want to be ended by them. But maybe...

"Let's get you back to Lair, and go from there. How does that sound?"

Villain Whumpers

Publicly torturing the hero whumpee to prove how hopeless everyone else’s situation is

“You lost, Hero. To the victor goes the spoils.”

Keeping the hero as a visibly broken trophy, either on display or at their side

Display case style cells for their most powerful (and hated) defeated enemies

Forcing the hero to surrender to ensure the safety of the populace/the team/Caretaker

Conditioning the hero to serve them

Taking revenge on the rest of the team, but forcing the hero to watch because ‘‘I hate you the most, Hero.”

“I’ve decided you get to live on as an example of what happens to those who defy me.” 

Forcing a brainwashed Hero to hurt or kill teammates

The hero trying to keep them focused on hurting the hero so that the villain doesn’t hurt anyone else

Bonus:

The villain’s reign improves daily life for civilians, and the villain openly taunts the hero about how much better off everyone (appears to be)/is.

Week 30

Whumpee wasn’t sure how much longer they could endure. It had been too long. Their body had suffered for too long. They in so much pain so much of the time. And they had no energy to fight back. None at all. Each day they just lay there. Lay there as Whumper beat them. Cleaned their wounds. Fed them. Lay there as they watched their life go on without them.

That. That was the worst torture. 

Whumpee’s mother had definitely given up hope of finding Whumpee. She had a small almost shrine type display in the corner of her sitting room now. She had coffee, or what appeared to be coffee, next to it each morning. And a glass of whisky each night. Other than that, their mother was rarely present at home. 

Their sister had most certainly moved on. Though, Whumpee caught her tearing up a time or two when she looked at their photo. Other than that, life was back to normal for their sister. Whumpee was glad. 

Teammate One and Two weren’t at home at all today. Whumpee got worried. Did something happen to them? They breathed a sigh of relief as they saw Teammate One and Two walk in through Caretaker’s front door, Caretaker walking in slowly behind them. They continued into the kitchen, out of sight. Good. They were all ok. 

Well, as close to ok as Caretaker got these days. This week, Caretaker seemed to have a particularly tough time. Whumpee knew why. But there was nothing they could do. 

Hours after Teammate One, Two, and Caretaker came through the door, Teammate One and Two left, waving their goodbyes to Caretaker. Caretaker’s mask dissolved as they shut the door. They immediately carried over the bottle of whisky and collapsed on the couch. 

Caretaker held out the glass, as if cheersing some invisible presence. “Happy birthday, Whumpee,” they sobbed to the empty room and raised the bottle to their lips. 

Whumpee started. It was the first sound they’d heard besides their own screaming and Whumper’s voice in seven months. “Caretaker. Caretaker. Caretaker!” Whumpee began to sob as they realized their words fell on deaf ears. They could hear Caretaker, but Caretaker couldn’t hear them. 

“Happy birthday, indeed, Whumpee,” Whumper sneered as they came up to Whumpee, baseball bat in hand. “Enjoy your present?” Whumpee sobbed harder. “Ready for your celebration?”

If I could make a request? A tough, defiant whumpee that seems impossible to break until they’re isolated for a while. At first being left alone is preferable to being tortured, but by the time Whumper shows up again they’re so lonely that they‘re glad to see them. They hate how welcome Whumper’s attention is, but they can’t help but be glad to be touched again.

Oh yes. This is good, anon. Very good.

Whumpee lay in the corner of their cell. They had no idea how long they had lain there. Initially, being tossed into the cell had been a sweet reprieve from all the torture Whumper had inflicted on them.

But now? Now the isolation was torture. They missed hearing the sound of anything besides their own breathing, their own heartbeat. Even to be touched by anything other than the floor.

The door to their cell creaked open. Whumpee flipped over to watch the door open and admit a grinning Whumper. "Enjoy your alone time?"

Whumpee didn't respond. Whumper's voice seemed so loud after their endless period of silence. Whumper strode over and touched Whumpee's arm. Whumpee flinched at the contact, at the warmth. Oh, the warmth. Whumpee found themselves leaning, against their will, into Whumper's touch.

Whumper pinched Whumpee's arm, hard enough to leave red marks. Whumpee hissed, but didn't move away. Whumper's smile deepened. "I see you missed me, Whumpee. Too much time alone can do that."

Whumpee glared up at Whumper. They didn't reply because they didn't want the contact to end. Didn't want Whumper to leave them to their lonely torture. But they didn't want Whumper to continue either.

"Let's remedy that." Whumper pulled Whumpee to standing and dragged them out of the cell, giggling as they went. Whumpee shuddered at the thought of what Whumper had planned. And how much they needed to be in the presence of another being.
