“We have obsession at home”-
Obsession at home.
So I watched obsession recently and I couldn’t help my brain rotted mind from noticing the similarities between Nikki and Vanessa.
Minor Spoilers for Obsession-

Being posesssed by a violent obsessive version of yourself programmed to do one thing for somebody else against your will and not being able to break free on your own. It felt very “vague supernatural element of two minds one body that isn’t necessarily a seperate entity or the person’s free will either. More like a Dr Jeckyl and Mr Hyde thing.” Which I really like because it adds nuance and uncertainty. Instead of them being black and white monsters, they are unable to control that side of them that has come into existence due to a curse/wish/virus.
Anyway I liked obsession. It was fun and eerie and the acting was pretty damn good.
Lil vanny for today, since i didn't post in like, forever.
Hasn't been drawing much lately anyway.
just shenanigan after shenanigan with these girls huh
Day 66
I’ve made a few models (albeit ammaturely rigged and textured) and I still struggle with the complex UIs of these programs! That’s why I end up sculpting and texturing the initial model on a diff program and then rigging it on blender later.
It is an endless process of trial and error and my god is it EXHAUSTING and time consuming! But it is worth it when you get a 3D model in the end I guess lol
Doublestar Duo Week- Day 3~ ‘save the princess’
Listen, I know the general consensus is “Vanessa trying to catch Gregory to give to Vanny”
BUT…
You ever think that maybe, when Vanessa was chasing Gregory, she was trying to reach him.. for a different reason? 👑🥺
@doublestarduofanweek
Spelling mistakes? I guarantee neither of us saw those at 3:00 AM Monday Morning.
Tbh I don't understand anyone who denies their favorite character's flaws and acts like they've never done anything wrong when that is like consistently the most interesting part of any character ever
Chapter 8: Game Night
Going through the motions.
There is actually one more sketch I wanted to clean as part of this set but my iPad crashed and the file ended up in a bad mess and it honestly spooked me enough that I’m just gunna post these here and slowly back away from it.
I seriously need to get my iPad’s battery replaced, it’s like over 7 years old at this point and if it dies bad I’ll be so sad I love drawing digital art on my sofa to much.
in 2026 DO NOT ask yourself whether your art is GOOD
instead ask:
is it SINCERE
was it CATHARTIC
was it FUN TO MAKE
is it MADE BY ME
and don't forget to stay silly
pitt fans when the show about healthcare worker burnout is about healthcare worker burnout 😱😱🤯🤯
"we get it!! robby's sad!!!" do you, though? do you get it? do you understand that this show is showing burnout through the lens of Robby? that we see Robby so much and we see his entire deterioration because we are seeing what burnout and PTSD and depression and suicidality look like in healthcare workers? do you understand that that's important to see?
do you understand that it's touching so many people with the same issues who don't even work in healthcare? do you understand how gritty and raw and realistic this portrayal is? do you understand how much that means to people, after seeing mental health softened or romanticized in almost every piece of media? do you get it?
I don't think you fucking do. this isn't just "Robby is depressed, we get it 🙄" it's showing the entire scope on purpose. we are following that journey on purpose. the deterioration, the ugliness, and then eventually the healing. that's the story that started being told in s1ep1, whether you like it or not. if you don't like it, don't watch the goddamn show. no one is forcing you.
People are surprised when the symptoms of mental health issues like PTSD and depression get ugly and people are rude because their brains are so stuck on fight and flight? I’m not excusing his behavior either, like yeah lashing out at people or being cold and dismissive isn’t fair to others, but it doesn’t mean you’re some irredeemable evil person that needs to die either… geez Louise.
Also the same thing happened in the Steven universe fandom. God forbid they show a character suffering the irritable side of severe trauma and people like “He’s so rude this season they really ruined his character :(“ Nah, you just don’t understand how trauma changes you and you don’t want to understand because it makes you uncomfy and it’s a problem that can never be fixed permanently.
I’m not saying you have to tolerate it, but it doesn’t automatically equal “bad writing” or “repetitive storytelling” just because it’s showing an uglier side to a person.
I don’t think some people realise how virtually impossible it is to stop hyperfixating on media that the brain has decided is “essential dopamine intake” even if it’s “media with problematic creator”.
“You like that? The artist is a horrible person just so you know, you should stop consuming that”
I wish I could get my brain to stop getting fixated on media with shitty creators, which always happens to be my luck somehow, but I literally cannot. This media is one of the only things my brain is telling me focus on so I don’t spiral and try to throw myself off a building from the dread of reality and the systems that hate me for existing.
As an AuDHD person, I literally cannot control what my brain see as dopamine intake. And while I have many fixations at once as to not cause extreme burnout and stress, it still doesn’t mean the problematic hyperfixation is getting weaker by me trying to make it go away. Trust me, I’ve tried to manually adjust my fixations, but there’s only so much influence it can bring.
Sometimes it’s not consuming anything to do with the media for a while, and sometimes it’s not. Sometimes it’s when the media is praised too much, and sometimes it’s not. It’s completely random and I can’t predict what emotion my brain will force me to feel when I consume media.
I don’t know how many other ND people get this, I do know myself and my friends who are also ND and we literally cannot control what our minds find joy in. It can be torturous and even worse when said media you know is actively being made by a terrible person or company, but you can’t take your mind off of it. You feel like a piece of shit because you actively enjoy media made by this horrible person, but you can’t turn it away from your mind because it gives it dopamine and motivation.
Also criticizing it doesn’t work for me, it only makes me for spiteful to not stop enjoying it, if that makes sense. Negative reinforcement if not affective for me. My mind is rebellious and even with therapy, it is very difficult to control and I wish I could just turn off a hyperfixation when I need to.
What I think is so so compelling about The Pitt, and is so gratifying in the fandom, is the empathy it forces you to have for every character while also forcing you to confront their flaws. We love Dr. Robby and we empathize greatly with his immense trauma, but we also can't accept how it makes him treat Dr. Mohan. Santos is completely valid in her dislike of Langdon and her disinterest in forgiving him, at the same time though it's clear her attitude is the real issue she has with her coworkers, and she finds it easier to blame him. Garcia is right to point out these issues to Santos, but she's also being incredibly hypocritical at the same time because she's also rude and confrontational and she's having an inappropriate relationship with Santos. Langdon is right he's been through a lot the last ten months, but none of that is appropriate to bring up in his apology to Santos. It's equally not fair of her to ask him to tell people his personal information. Like many people in the world, Ogilvie can't empathize with a situation unless he is in it or experiencing it, but once he does, it kinda seems to affect him a lot. Dr. Robby can't handle people confronting things within themselves that he isn't ready to handle in himself, and it makes him kind of drag them down to his level and it's been ugly to watch this season.
Anyways. Lots of things can be true at once, your perception affects your reality, and you can be valid but also not doing the right thing. I think we should all try to have the empathy for each other that we do for the characters on The Pitt.
