STORY OUTLINE:

TETHERED takes place over the course of Halloween 1982 - on the eve of the return of The Leannán Sí Comet.

Aoibh (20s) is single-handedly bringing up herself and her little brother Tadhg (8). He’s obsessed with astronomy and the stars - just like their Mother, who passed away some years before.

Aoibh works in a rundown nursing home that’s perched on the edge of a mist-shrouded lake. She tends to four enigmatic old characters in the home. Needless to say, they are not all they seem. They are an Old Man, two Old Twins and an Old Woman.

We get the impression all of their lives are interconnected, and they’ve been together by this lake for as long as any of them can remember. We come to realise they’re siblings and trapped in time - but there’s something magical about Aoibh that can finally give them release . . .

TETHERED is a dark, bittersweet, supernatural Irish fantasy film - and we’re thrilled to bring it forward to a global audience! It’s a love letter to 1980s fantasy films and the rich history of Irish mythology and storytelling.

Set in rural Ireland in 1982, TETHERED tells the story of an ethereal young woman who works in a rundown nursing home perched on the edge of a mist-shrouded lake. Needless to say, things are not what they appear to be . . .
