as a person who sadly experienced something similar as a child (I was 13, she was 18).

One thing about Frankenstein I don't see people talking about is how the Creature doesn't ask for a wife from Victor, he wants a companion. Victor takes it as him wanting a wife but the Creature never said that. He just wanted a friend.

i've been thinking about it daily, victor was so quick to judge. he genuinely could just make the creature's companion a male, or female without a working uterus.. if he was that scared of possible reproduction.

but there's no assurance the companion would actually like the creature, possibly making him feel even lonelier.

i'm not sure how it's written in the original book, i read the polish translation where it's clear he asks for a woman "bride" but i like to think the book creature also meant simply a companion no matter the gender, a friend with similar features so they could be monsters together.
