Heyyy so like-

I made an actual AU out of boredom and curiosity! The premise is that there was a spinoff released as the original show gained more popularity, but was stopped in its tracks a little while after the show ended. (Basically those carbon-copy reboots of cartoons that only make the characters younger for whatever reason-)

Not a lot has changed, buuut here are the general ones:

The majority of the AU takes place in the 50s when the characters are around 15-17!

The characters don’t technically “live” in the neighborhood, most of the houses have been scrapped in place of a school, playground, diner, etc (nonsensical show logic and all)

Howdy and Eddie have part-time jobs instead of full ones! Eddie is a newspaper boy and Howdy mans the front counter of his family’s diner

The characters hang out with each other and have their own adventures outside of the show itself, semi-sentient in a way??

More happy-go-lucky and lively than the original, I don’t wanna give these kids that much trauma 😭
